December 18, 20169 yr In less than half a season Conte's spoken English has gone from getting by to very good. Respect to the man for working so hard, on and off the pitch and at home. The class of the man.
December 18, 20169 yr Quote By Danny Murphy, What Guardiola has done so far tells us that, after 26 games in charge of City in all competitions, he does not know his best XI or the way he wants to play. For some people that seems to be shocking but, for me, it is not a massive surprise. City have made 15 more line-up changes than any other top-flight team for their 16 Premier League games this season It is actually completely normal for any manager who comes into a club to try to assess what he has already got, decide what he needs, bring in the players he wants and work with them to get them on his wavelength. You cannot do that overnight, no matter how good you are. Look at Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool - he was appointed Reds manager in October 2015 and it is only really since the beginning of this season that they have consistently looked like his team. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38336082
December 18, 20169 yr It's amazing how quickly he's picked up the language. As said above a testament to the mans work ethic. He is class.
December 18, 20169 yr I love how he always gives credit to the players, it's never about himself or promoting his achievements. Even from the outside looking in, you can really see why you want to play for him. Out of all the managers at the Euro's Conte was the one that stood out.

December 18, 20169 yr I wonder what Abramovich must be thinking now. For years he wanted Guardiola who turned us down for City so he had to "settle" for Conte and looks like he got the right person after all. For now at least, as we all know things change but he must be secretly happy.
December 18, 20169 yr What I like from him as Chelsea manager other than ability to manage a top side is his ability to change how refs percieve us, now we are getting a far bigger slice of the rub of the green decisions, which before refs gave us nothing, which to me appear to calm the players in their play, as they are getting fair treatment.
December 18, 20169 yr Those loses to Liverpool and Arsenal were maybe what Conte needed most. I'm sure that there were a few home truths told in the wake of those defeats and I reckon that the message from Conte was "you want to stop being sh*t, then listen to me and trust me" Although maybe more eloquently put then that. Changing players and formations is easy. Getting the players to understand those changes and fully buy into them is the hard part and so far Conte is succeeding at that.

After watching Ashley Cole speak yesterday gave me a different perception of what has transpired. Cole was saying that CFC were training on the 3-4-3 formation since the summer. Conte didn't actually implement this change until half-time of that dreadful 3-0 defeat to the goonies - now the goonies are taking pride of being the side to last beat CFC in the league & force Don Antonio into a change Edited December 18, 20169 yr by robdog
December 19, 20169 yr Reasons To Love Antonio: A Pictorial Essay. #1: In stark contrast to certain other managers, relishes doing 'the tackles'. #2. Worked his way up, was not handed best team in Europe on a silver platter at start of managerial career. #3. Family man. #4. Man of the people. #5. Piercing blue eyes. #6. Will not stand for any sh*t. #7. Has scarves dedicated to him by slightly shady ultra groups. #8. Has friends in high places. #9. The type of bloke you'd love to have a coffee with. #10. Or a cold one. #11. Currently on shortlist to replace Daniel Craig. #12. He loves only gold. Edited December 19, 20169 yr by Charles Ryder

December 20, 20169 yr Nice article for our boss. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4046172/Chelsea-news-Antonio-Conte-turns-charm-Christmas-party.html
December 21, 20169 yr Is it me or are just all of our Italian managers Vialli, Ranieri, Ancelotti, Di Matteo and now Conte such loving a decent human beings.
December 21, 20169 yr The man is class and I love how he has just got on with things and worked with what he's got and improved things far beyond what I hoped for. He obviously had transfer targets and didn't get them - the likes of Bonucci and Nainggolan, but he's moved on and we haven't heard endless comments of how we didn't get the players we needed. What he has achieved with just a couple of unfancied additions is remarkable. You can see the respect he commands and the bond he has created - it's just so good to see.

December 21, 20169 yr A poster who left these shoures long ago once referred to Vialli as the kind of guy who whorls drive up the motorway to pick you up and not ask to sleep with your sister. Great poster and a guy I had the pleasure to meet once. But couldn't agree with him entirely ok Vialli, classy guy yes great football manager, meh... Conte however brings the two together for me, he is clearly a top level manager, what ever happens this season he has proved his credentials for me, the west brom game was perhaps the best example as we fluidly chnanged formation in search of the goal against a well organized team playing 6 at the back. But I'm addition, Conte then man is just class personified, like he would drive up the motorway to pick you up and not ask to sleep with your sister. I loved Jose, I would excuse any action he gave me some of the best times as a Chelsea fan, and I was happy to pay the price and even defend almost everything, but conte makes me look back and think... what was I thinking. Conte is proving you don't need to be a walking brand to be a great manager

December 22, 20169 yr Conte is incredible to motivate his players and to obtain the maximal result and commitment. I live in Bari and I was lucky enough to see his work for Bari, Juventus and Italy, I think that all his life is based on victory, and when you are able to transfer this to your players, you can be considered one of the best coaches
December 23, 20169 yr Got a sly feeling that maybe this could be our year. Never would have thought it but it would incredible if we did do it. Out of all the teams, we do look the strongest and have been there recently. The only team that I could see beating us would be City but I don't think they are strong enough defensively. Absolutely incredible to even be in this position.
