I think Conte is purposely getting rid of the young players he doesn't see as able to help him win the trophy, WHILST moaning about the squad size for one purpose: To force the board to bring in players he wants. Think about it: get rid of all the deadweight you don't want in your squad, complain about the depth and quality of your squad after winning the title, force the hand of the board. Conte the genius Perhaps you're right, I can see that it may force the clubs hand to purchase more players. However I don't see us getting in the necessary recruitments by the end of August, so if this is Conte's plan, it may well backfire on him, of coarse I may be wrong and I hope the board do now act fast. On a sidenote, I find it amusing that the club congratulate our loanees on social media, I get that they're not going to say commiserations, but congratulating a player they don't have faith in, looks stupid. August 11, 20178 yr Think what the club are saying is congratulations a club wants you on loan. Not the worst club either they stand a good chance of coming back up.
August 12, 20178 yr On 8/10/2017 at 22:17, Argo said: Educated guess from what i read/heard that summer. And what was the main cause of Eden and co being tired? Jose overplaying them for 2 year's and refusing to rotate, in the case of Eden wouldn't even sub him at a comfortable lead. He squeezed every last ounce of mental energy from the lads to bring the title home the next season they just snapped and were totally exhausted, then Jose brought more drama to the door with Eva gate and his rambling's and a bunch of already mentally drained player's couldn't cope with the added drama and pressure and it accumulated in that sh*tshow. Physical tiredness can often be covered up with energy boost's and adrenaline, mental tiredness however there's no way round that you have to recover in your own time, i remember when i went to SB for the 1-3 Pool game and i didn't see a lack of effort, i saw a group of player's running on low if not no fuel, Hazard especially looked totally broken, i left that game genuinely concerned about the player's mental health (i was already concerned about Jose in that regard, still am). Jose was a great manager for us, but the sheer extent of just how bad that season got is on him and the more i think about it (i try not to) i get more stronger in that belief. That season was doomed for failure from the off, Stones, Pogba arriving wouldn't have saved it, neither would Drogba or Cech staying (some reckon there dressing room infulence may have saved thing's). I think the spoilt line is reserved for people who never say anything positive and will jump on any excuse to furfill an agenda, for example last season (cant remember if it was here or Talk Chelsea) some sh*tty twitter link with 50 followers said Kante was going to City about a week before we signed him and someone responded to that tweet by giving an explicit 3 paragraph rant about how "pathetic" the club is. Or another example is someone who invaded the match thread's second half of last season and claimed the wheels are falling off everytime we were on term's or worse after half an hour, or the people that jump on Hazard's thread saying he has a sh*t mentality after he doesn't have a 10/10 game but still create's loads of chances/inroads for the side, ala Anfield in January. I don't think anyone has an issue with constructive criticism, but it often goes way, way further than that and that's were i have the issue, it's why i rarely post board criticism myself, my negative board thought's are covered and exaggerated x 1000. Your assessment did have some great points, but looking at the player's reaction and their complete lack of mental strength, I think the problem is elsewhere because in a lot of ways, this does look like an encore of 15/16.
August 12, 20178 yr you can tell Conte is a rebel, new Nike sponsorship, adidas trainers on the touchline

I think the second half today dispells that, never in a million years would we have shown such fight during Jose's last month's, mainly due to the issue's i hit up on. 7 hours ago, didierforever said: So this is Conte's fault, right? No, if he starts Bats at Wembley however and we get beat in part because of that, then he deserves criticism and can't hide behind the board action's.
August 13, 20178 yr Argo, when you will understand, that Morata was not fitness-ready ??????? He is not fit-ready, so that`s why Conte is putting Michy in. If you are not 100%, then it`s easier for you to get injured. So obviously Conte doesn`t want to risk it.
August 13, 20178 yr At the moment we don't look like a club that is one. Conte has distanced himself from transfers by saying 'the club is doing their best' not 'we'. Frustration is growing. There is a great chance we have 0 points after 3 matches and no significant signings. And it would be harsh to blame Conte on those losses entirely.
August 13, 20178 yr Our biggest strength last season was being able to bounce back from a bad game. After Arsenal we responded to every loss with a run of wins. Conte has to try and reproduce that now. that said unless we get some body's in the door and (not the biladogy kind) he will walk. He walked out on Juve because he felt the board were not matching his ambitions and we would jidnour selves to belive he might have more affinity for us then he did for them
August 13, 20178 yr You can see by his body language that he's not the same as he was last season, everyone has commented on it. The unity and belief in the board is gone, the words coming from both Conte and the players are a cause for concern. It does mimic the disaster season under Jose where the board didn't build on a title winning side....although at least then they didn't have a fire sale and leave us woefully short on numbers. I'm stunned they would leave Conte in this position after previous mistakes, it's almost like they get a kick out of making things unbelievably difficult for title winning managers.
August 13, 20178 yr i think after a loss no manager is going to be happy and cheery, of course he's disappointed. he's mentioned before he hates to lose. under the circumstances yesterday which were ridiculous, there's not much one can do. we are missing 3 of our key players, and this would hurt any team, not just us, then on top of that seeing a red card so early into a game, it's an uphill battle. he motivated the players for the second half and we almost got back into the game. there have been reports he and the board are on good terms, and he and roman have a very good relationship. of course though, people will only ever focus on the negative whispers they hear and push away the encouraging stuff they hear.
August 13, 20178 yr Who said it was after the loss? He's been like this for a big part of pre season, it's clear as day he isn't happy with what's going on behind the scenes.
August 13, 20178 yr If he was on good term, he won`t repeat like mad about Mourinho season, and that we need more qualities and depth and 1 or 2 signing will not be enough. He won`t say, don`t ask me about Matic, ask the board. He won`t say he wanted to use Matic, untill Bakayoko is clearly fit and step by step introduce him to the team. And of course he won`t just sign a improved contract, without extension, that is for sure. You have to be blind to not see the problem. You was proven time after time you are wrong, and you keep saying there is no problem .... Me and few others have foresee this long time ago, Conte too, but the board did not react, and a lot of people here was saying how wrong i`m. We see it now who was wrong and who was right. And if you have quality bench and enough decent depth, 1 injury player won`t be a problem for you. Bakayoko is all board problem. Cause if they let Matic stay, as Conte wanted, we won`t have problem in the middle we are facing now. And Arsenal in their first game was without a lot of their best men, and they still won. They did it against us as well. Injuries are part of the game, we was lucky last year, but it was obvious, this won`t last forever. Conte said this many time, and that the team need both qualities and depth. The board fuc*** by not bringing what he was saying and what he was wanted. This ***** knowing for long time that Hazard will miss a lot of games, that Costa will be hard to replace and that Bakayoko is injured. So who exactly failure this is ? You can type and write what you want, but it`s clearly that you are wrong. Edited August 13, 20178 yr by brakeit
August 13, 20178 yr There is something wrong with his general demeanour, the rumours of fallouts with the board initially seemed like bull now appear to carry substance. Yesterday he ditched his suit for the tracksuit, maybe making a point he is just the coach, perhaps he has been told just that. We do as a club seem to have the ability to shoot ourselves in the foot just as we appear to be making good progress, keeps it interesting.
August 13, 20178 yr “Matic knows very well what I think about him. “The importance for me about this player, who is a really good player, a top player, very important for our team. “But sometimes you must accept this crazy transfer market. “And sometimes you must accept different decisions. “But he is a great loss for us.” That said it all. Poor, poor board.
August 13, 20178 yr When I saw Antonio just before post match PC started I was heartbroken. I just closed the tab.
August 13, 20178 yr Too early to judge how we will do. But I can't help feeling this is his last season with us. Chelsea being Chelsea etc. Everything blows up out of nothing and it's crisis time. Club wouldn't be the same without a drama after success.
August 13, 20178 yr Where was the D&g sharp suited Conte yesterday, looked like a Sunday morning manager, you're better than this AC, shape up fella...
August 13, 20178 yr Where was the D&g sharp suited Conte yesterday, looked like a Sunday morning manager, you're better than this AC, shape up fella...Maybe he feels he's not obligated to give 100%, the board sure as feck don't.
August 13, 20178 yr What a load of bollocks, we've only played one game and the media are already stirring up a sh*t show. I can't see Conte leaving, too many putting 2+2 together and getting 5.
August 13, 20178 yr For me, it's still a case of wait till the end of the month with transfers, I doubt he will stay another season unless we exceed expectations. I think Conte is great in the league yet still have doubts about the one off games like cup matches.
August 13, 20178 yr Expect a re-run of last years early season, Roman at Cobham, but Antonio probably not as concerned, you cannot hide the fact he was a quite forlorn looking man on the touchline, hopefully it was the Cahill Red that had him subdued, but he is definitely carrying the 'Back me or sack me' look, and he has previous for exactly that!!!
