Roman has lost much of his interest.

Just my opinion.

I share that opinion.

Look at it from his point of view -  since he has come in as owner he has put huge sums into the club/british economy.

But the British government don't seemingly care a jot about that & are now making life difficult for him because of his association with Putin.

And of course that rather unwelcoming attitude together with the unfolding Brexit disaster and the long term consequences of same not just for the British economy but in respect to to the future livelihood of all clubs in the EPL must be a real cause for concern. Hence his decision to shelve the stadium re-build.

It's done! Good riddance!

"Good riddance" is quite unfair on my part. The man did win us a title and give us a very memorable season after the catastrophic sh*tstorm that was 15/16. For that, I'll always be grateful. Things could have played out better but in the end, he won trophies in both seasons for us. Wish him the best of luck in the future.

I agree we needed a change but that’s a bit petulant for me, he won the league one season and then the FA cup the next.

He deserves more respect than “good riddance” surely to Christ.

I think I was typing a follow up just as you were typing that. It was unfair on my part.

Grazie Antonio.

Disappointing for it to end in such sour and peculiar fashion but that title winning season was immense and like Ancelotti, Vialli and Ranieri was a success in charge of the club and hugely endearing too.

Wish him well for the future and thank him for the success he bought to the club.

How quickly things change in football. After winning the league, I would have been happy for him to stay a long time. Then just a year later, I'm not at all sad at him leaving.

I think if he didn't attack the club as much as he did last season and he just kept his head down and work, he may have at least been allowed to see out his contract. Possibly even an extension if he righted the ship next season. Anyway, I'm sure he's very happy with the fat cheque he's going home with.

I was all for wanting a change and still am but reading the headline that he'd gone actually made me slightly sad. Absolutely loved him and his passion in the first season and wished it would have worked out. However I'm excited to see us finally play the football the board and I'm sure most of us have craved for years. Let's just hope sarri is the right man to change it and it doesn't end up another AVB.

yeah - I'll put my hand up to that one - I saw your apology after I posted.  We all  get one wrong now and again! Sorry.

All good. I'm sure Antonio will be back in a job within a year. I'm still a bit salty about the fact that City came right back and smashed our wins record the season after we won though. :laugh2:

Unfortunate it couldn’t work out. Thank you for the silverware. If I’ve read correctly, he was the manager with the second longest tenure under abramovich. Best of luck conte! Just not against chelsea....

Is that true? If it is, then he probably only beat Carlo by a month or so.

Pretty sad to see him go, although I am excited for sarri at the same time.

Hopefully we look back in few years and remember the passionate celebrations, the record breaking win streak, the 2 trophies, and of course that infectious laugh.

It's a pity the last 12 months have been filled with negativity, of which conte has played a part in.

I wish him well, and I'm sure he will get a fantastic reception if or when he returns.

Antonio! Antonio!

Thanks for the league and cup, Antonio. It's a pity it didn't work out, but that's football, and life, unfortunately. Good luck in the future.

I have to say, I'm a little bit annoyed at how messy this divorce has been, though. I think it's a bit disrespectful from the club to leave him in limbo for this long. While I understand the relationship between the manager and board soured considerably, I just can't see why the board didn't sack him soon after the cup final like United did with Van Gaal if they were that set on getting a new manager in.

It's a shame it came to this but I still believe he manipulated this situation somewhat to give himself an escape route. But for the title winning season I will always be grateful, it was a hell of a season. Good luck.
