Jose Mourinho thread

Mourinho quotes in the newspaper.

"This is football, for me Chelsea is over, it's finished. I look forward to the future with more enthusiasm"

What do people think?

Think he is right to take that view.

He gave us a league and cup double after years of domestic failure, we sacked him half way through the next season.

We didn’t show him support long term so why pine over us anymore?

As for us he gave us some of the greatest times as CFC supporters but we too need to move on and try to back the next man as it’s highly likely we will be direct rivals to Jose’s United next season.

Sad ending to what was once a genuine dream team.

^ I'll echo what Val said. We have told him to f**k off twice now, the dream is over, he is over it, over us, he's looking for a new challenge away from Chelsea FC.

We should turn all our attention to backing the new manager- Conte, in all likelihood.

I was simply putting the quote on here for people to see, not saying I miss him etc..

I'm wondering if this is a legite quote. Media is making so much BS about Jose so it wouldn't surprise me if it was made up.

Some people seem to be suffering from collective amnesia here.

Apart from the last few months, Jose's second stint with us produced better results and more consistency within the squad than we had seen in the past three seasons before that.

Things went sour as a result of a collective failing by the whole club in the summer, but the club was too immature and gutless to stick by him in his hour of need.

If Jose could not receive a chance to redeem himself, no one else has a hope in hell of surviving as manager when things go sour in the future under this administration.

Jose had many chances to redeem himself. If it were anyone else, especially anyone else who acted in front of the media the way Jose did, they would have been sacked earlier. I don't think Roman wanted to sack him and pay out for it, but things kept getting worse and worse.

We were in a relegation battle. Consider that we lost at home to Bournemouth, who were undeniable relegation battlers. I think that was the breaking point.

I dont think anyone is suffering from amnesia, to some it was pretty obvious José had lost the playing group and support staff through a lot of stuff he brought on himself. But i can understand why hes teflon to some. Was a great manager for us, but it can only last so long before it impodes.

Lets hope Conte can keep it going for longer and also he a bit better at bringing the kids through.

Its time to move on for everybody.

He had the chance to really become a long term manager for us, but i just dont think he can do that.

'Apart from the last few months'

Its because of the last few months that José isnt here anymore. I guess the amnesia can go both ways.

I've already acknowledged in this thread and elsewhere that the last few months of Jose's stint were as poor as I've seen for many years, but only seven months before he was sacked we won the title eight points clear of second spot or did that slip your mind?

So did Jose just turn into sh*t manager one day after being hailed as the best we've ever had and being one of the best managers in the world only back in May when the club offered him a new four-year contract?

Loyalty in this game is dead! Jose was poor this season without question but so was the whole club, so it was a collective failing from everybody but Jose was merely the easy scapegoat to appease disgruntled fans who wanted him sacked and thought everything would go back to normal.

Things may appear stable now under Hiddink but there's no pressure and Hiddink was always a calming influence on the team, but I'm very confident sh*t will hit the roof in a year or two when the next manager doesn't reach the board's unrealistic expectations and we're back to square one with the managerial merry-go-round and lacking any foresight on our future vision for the club.

Gone are the days when we had players who played their hearts out and gave it their all despite turmoil that existed within board ranks when it came to the manager and the constant changes we saw.

This owner and his yes-men have never actually rebuilt and planned for the long-term because we already had the players and the spine to sustain strong performances for a decade and it just needed a little tweaking here and there but now they're confronted with a completely new challenge where they don't have natural leaders coming through the ranks and the players they've relied on to sustain such performances are now either too old or they're leaving in the latter stages of their careers.

He's over it. Now everybody: get over it too.

No I will NOT get over it and anyone else who isn't over it has every right to voice their displeasure in what transpired a few months ago because the decision may have serious ramifications for the club but hopefully it doesn't and we're vindicated in the long run so fingers crossed.

I'm just sick to death of people contributing nothing to this thread and having the nerve to tell others to "get over it". You may have not been his biggest supporter but others have a different view on the matter and should be able to voice their grievances without being told what they should think and how they should act on this forum.

It's a major decision involving a huge figure for the club and whether you like it or not supporters are going to react in various ways even if it's months after the sacking.

In regards to posters who thought sacking him was the right move, I still have far more respect for those that at least have a rational and sensible debate and provide arguments as to why it was the correct decision contrary to what I may think.

I'm not going to rant about Jose's sacking on match day threads or threads that don't relate him but this thread relates to the man's sacking so of course people are going to post about it here, but you cannot expect people to just instantly move on and pretend that nothing has happened and that they should just blindly trust that the club knows what it's doing.

Theres no denying that hes a great manager, the problem is that he has a shelf life. We've seen this elsewhere already.

I am absolutely amazed by how quickly things went peared shaped (and am not happy about it), but i guess the sad reality of it is its easier for the club to replace the manager than it is to replace 8+ senior players.

José has to take a lot of responsibility for his downfall though. A lot of the bullsh*t could have been avoided.

Jose left FC Porto (after 2 years), Inter Milan (after 2 years) and Real Madrid (after 3 years) at his own accord whereas he left Chelsea both times against his will, so he's never actually proven one way or another whether he's cut out to be a long-term manager so I think people are too premature to dismiss him to have the ability to be a long-term manager with one club when he hasn't really failed one way or another.

Yes there were signs of failure here in his last season but he didn't get the whole season or even a transfer window for that matter to rectify the problems so giving him a month longer than any other manager doesn't really it cut for me as the board being patient with him despite what people want to tell themselves.

Now I'm willing to admit that things were looking pretty bad in his final season with us but the man was willing to stay and build something long-term and the most frustrating thing about it is we seem to give up on the plan with him being here long-term far too easily.

The fact that the club wanted him here for at least another four years during the summer is what makes this the more painful to contemplate and to come to terms with on top of him being a much-loved figure amongst the supporters.

Yeah, fair enough. I doubt we'll ever see it eye to eye. To me the club did give him more than enough time to right the ship but it had just got to terminal and there was really no coming back with this group of players. He lost them so fast and so badly.

I think Jose needs to cop a lot of the blame as do all our senior players. Sad state of affairs we found ourselves in so soon after a cracking season.

Well he's right about one thing, it's over between us and him.

There won't be a third time sadly.

If there's one thing I've learned in my 21 years on Earth, it's this... Never say never.

Good lord, take it easy tiger. I was not telling you and/or others to get over it, I was encouraging you to after being asked what I thought of a presumed Mourinho quote. There is a difference.

Still, if you want to keep on rehashing things, without anybody knowing exactly what happened, by all means do.

Did we ever have those days under roman era?? JT & co were there when things turned sh*t under scolari, ancelotti and avb...

I don't think any chelsea fan thinks that jose is sh*t manager but I do believe some of us don't regard him as good as the lot of you would like everybody else to believe..

He's dismissed because of the so called 'palpable dicord' which I think he brought that on himself and that's more than enough to cut the tie..

I've been reading but until this I haven't found the need to post. How good do you think he is? I was under the impression we all think he's the best manager in the club's history and probably the best in the world atm. Hard to be better than that
