Jose Mourinho thread

Featured Replies

Too many times this season United have let a goal slip.

They deserved the win but once again sitting back cost him the win.

Although, I do find it hilarious how in 16 games Wenger still hasn't beat him. Embarrassing.

The majority of teams big or small sit back if they are leading 1-0 with 2mins to go. How this is any different because it's Mourinho or Man Utd I don't know.

Of course Arsenal are going to go all out if they are 1-0 down at the end of the match, doesn't take a lot to work that out.

They obviously love each other now!  :laugh2:

So according to Jose, Utd are the unluckiest team in the premier league!

Yeah, yeah.....we've heard it all before pal.

I had a laugh when Giroud scored the equaliser. Despite what Jose moaned about luck, he probably bought that onto himself. After the Mata goal, they immediately sat back and allow Arsenal playing again. Until that point, Arsenal couldn't get out their own half. The last sub, the French DM for Mata, was typical Jose, we are seen that before with Mikel for Hazard or Mata. Take off your best attacker for a DM is always asking for trouble, with about 10 minutes on the clock. Look at the goal, it was Rashford against OX for that cross, no doubt Wenger won the tactical change there.

Typical United fans, after the Mata goal they sang Jose Mourinho, dead silence after the Giroud goal.

What I love most about Wenger is how his arrogance costs the team. The more fans, press and pundits say Arsenal need a world class forward the more likely he won't buy one haha.

Took Wenger years to buy a keeper and he only got Cech because he fell into his lap and wanted to stay in London, also a terrible decision by Chelsea.

Its strange, Wenger has all the money at his disposal but doesn't know how to spend it. He signed Xhaka in the summer who is a fantastic player but doesn't know how to integrate him into the squad. He's also insistent on putting square pegs into round holes with Ramsey and Wilshere often shifted out wide and Cazorla playing a holding role.

I remember Carragher saying that the problem with moving to another rival club is that you're never properly loved by either clubs.

I call him that on that one. Despite all he's done for us, Jose won't be properly loved by either United or chelsea fans.

There are some Chelsea fans who still seem to adore Jose, but most of us have moved on and I now have a feeling of indifference towards him. He certainly won't get the love of Utd fans if he doesn't start bringing home the trophies.

It's different with players - especially ones who played most of their careers for us like Lamps & Cech & Drogba etc and all pretty much left on a high.

I respect Jose for the things he has done for the club, but he moved on and so did we. Wouldn't wish him well against Chelsea ever, or matter the fact for United as well as we are in the same league (if they are around 14th then maybe).

Correct, Nibs.

And there's nothing wrong with his Chelsea adventure. On the contrary. He's still one of the best in the world.

He just has made 3 mistakes. That's all. Unfortunatly.

The problem with bringing on Mikel to hold onto a lead, is with 1 less attacking player he basically invites pressure. We had so many games where we were hanging on for dear life for the last 10-15 mins, because we were sitting back and just defending. The best way to stop your opponent scoring is to keep the ball in their half, not sit everyone behind the ball and hope they can't break through.

I'll always admire and respect Jose for transforming Chelsea into one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I certainly don't think just because he's United manager that takes away from how I think back on the best days of my Chelsea supporting life.

I think if you expect total loyalty in football you are a bit deluded, Lampard played for City....it happens. We choose not to keep the players and managers so I don't see why we should hold it against them and for it to blemish what they done at the club.

The best way to keep an opponent from scoring is to keep the ball out of play.

I still adore Jose and hold him in the highest regard because he provided us with some of the greatest moments any supporter can dream of. It's not something you can forget despite how it all ended with him and us.

In saying that, I've moved on and no longer pine for him the way I once did even when he was managing Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Some things are best left in the past and when all is said and done, I hope Chelsea supporters and Jose himself (when his career ends) can reflect and look back at his time with us as being largely a positive one barring the disastrous last few months, which I feel overshadows his time with us unfortunately, with it still being fresh in our minds.

I totally ageee @Jezz I used to pine for him too. When he was let go in 2007 I was devastated. This time though I don't feel the same way. I finally feel that the club and the fans have moved on. He's our greatest ever manager and I'll always hold him in the highest regard.

Admit it you all thought there was a but coming there.. :D
