March 31, 20197 yr Like some others I can understand not starting CHO as Willian and Pedro had been training all week, but they are not the future of this club, they are not even the present. CHO not starting on Wednesday should be a sackable offence on it’s own. I’ve wanted Sarri out for a while and nothing recently has come close to changing my mind. I value Chelsea’s future over Sarri’s future and with him staying we are in serious danger of losing our best player and our best prospect and I don’t rate him enough to sacrifice losing such good players.

Kante has played 50 or 51, Hazard 48 with today and in the last period played two matches with the national team. Probably in the season you have to rest. At the end we were lucky" But Jorginho gets to start every game even the dead rubber Europa ones. Why not rotate in Christensen, RLC & CHO? I think playing those 3 is a must now, they are better than the players in the first team, we cant afford to lose them and how much would it cost us to replace them? CHO is wanted by Bayern and most likely a host of other clubs and I guarantee if Christensen is available some of the top clubs in Europe would be interested.

It boggles my mind. Even Mourinho who doesn't have the best record with youth would have been starting him at this point. His Wenger in disguise ?
April 1, 20197 yr On 30/03/2019 at 09:48, RIP Mourinho said: Can't get in over Pedro and Willian so gonna give it a go over Salah and Mane who don't get rotated at all? Load of bollocks imo. All this after Sarri has just said he'll start 4 games this month then 75% of games after that (likely meaning next season). He either signs or leaves for a free next summer, no chance he's going this summer. He cant get a game because of Sarri, theres no other reason. He plays, he scores or assists, then is dropped for a few games. Not to mention he has started for his country at 18, but his old club manager refuses to start him in the League. Your might want to defend Sarri on your other posts, but theres no way i trust Sarri with giving CHO more game time, and today was a prime example.
April 1, 20197 yr This is catch 22 - not playing 18-years old every single game is excusable(injury prone, lack of experience, lack of defensive skills), but playing one of Pedro and Willian every single game - definitely not. The problem is it took Sarri so long till he starts using CHO in his ''rotation''. Actually, he hasn't even started it yet, it's just words that I doubt.

April 1, 20197 yr I'll be amazed if he starts the game midweek against Brighton. If Sarri had any intention of using CHO he'd have done it by now. I'm going to stop hoping he sees sense and actually plays wingers who pose some sort of threat to opposition defenders. I've resigned myself to knowing I'll be seeing doing a few step overs and then passing the ball sideways 5 yards for the remainder of the season.

Sarri is more concerned with proving his point about how much he has already played CHO and how he's 18 years old, than he is about playing him because he might give him the best chance to win. The man has proven to be stubborn. This is part of his character. He's shown that he is not interested in doing whatever it takes to win a match, only to impose his style of football, whatever the cost.
April 2, 20197 yr Said in the presser that he will probably start tomorrow. Which means he is. If he doesnt, then Sarri is clearly just on a massive wind up.

Yeah, his comment came across as more to caving under the pressure than a sincere belief he warranted it. I feel for the kid. He came from England duty on a huge confidence high after one of the best weeks of his life. And instead of his manager building on his confidence, he completely crushed it by saying he barely watched him play, then leaves him on the bench for the next game in which two wingers were largely ineffective.

Good News, although after not getting any minutes against Cardiff (expected) and Pedro and Willian not doing anything to warrant more minutes (also expected), he had no choice other than select him for Brighton. Now watch him go and have a complete mare!!! Come on Callum - No Pressure!

April 2, 20197 yr So, what did you think of Hudson Odoi’s England performance? Barely watched it. Will Hudson Odoi start tomorrow? Probably. The lack of euthasium is telling and it’s clear Sarri isn’t a fan. I think by end of the season it really boils down to keeping Sarri or Hudson Odoi. I know who I’d rather keep.

That's unfair He said how he spotted the talent immediately, he said he wanted to keep him in the squad, he said he's improved during the season and now he's ready. I think Sarri has been his worst enemy with CHO. There's a reason we all think he should be starting, because we've seen him play. I genuinely think some of our past managers would have actually ignored him.

I think Sarri really has handled CHO poorly. The kid came off the absolute highlight of his career being pulled from his first England U21 call up to the full National team, then earning his first cap, and his first start. He comes back full of confidence in his game, and instead of his club manager being proud and building on his confidence, he totally dismisses it by admitting he wasn't interested enough to watch him, and left him stewing on the bench in his first game back. Sarri completely downplayed the kid's experience when the situation was perfect for him to build upon it and help be part of his development.
April 2, 20197 yr Well, going by current standards, if he gets a shot on net we'll have to consider him one of our top performers this week... He can thank Pedro and Willian for setting such a low bar.

They should be back up players and league cup starters in those positions and no more. Hell Alonso and Zappa would be more consistently good in their places. Edited April 2, 20197 yr by axman2526

Now watch him go and have a complete mare!!! Come on Callum - No Pressure! I think this is a good point worthy of the call out. Callum is a talent, no doubt, and Bayern's supposed interest, along with now what, Man Utd and Liverpool(?) has certainly upped his stardom in the footballing world almost overnight. Plenty of us Chels know he's good, a prospect, etc. But let's be honest, all these Journo's using it as a stick to beat Sarri with 1) Don't know just how great he is/could be, and 2) are being aided by Sarri's complete stubbornness. It is worth pointing out that CHO is getting England call ups despite so little time at Chelsea, so again Sarri ain't helping his cause here (but again, it was a performance as a sub for England, not a start). The demand of short term success makes it impossible for a manager to satisfy everyone. Now, the main point: CHO, has to perform. Just as managers at Chelsea are under immense pressure to perform and win and deliver immediately, so too are these prospects. If Callum comes out against BHA and loses the ball allowing them to counter and score, or if he misses a sitter, then Sarri will justifiably say "you see, he's not ready yet. This is why RLC and CA have had to work there way into the team." I hope Callum starts, I hope he plays well, I hope he gives Sarri the headache of who to select as that's a great problem to have for any manager especially when that player is "one of our own." What I hope doesn't happen is CHO gets a bit of the McEchran syndrome and get too big for his boots too early (I've nothing to suggest he will, quite the opposite from him tbh). Over to you Sarri, play the lad tomorrow. Let him show us what he is capable of.
