I've accepted that we are now the 5th or 6th best team in the league but what's disappointing is that we couldn't manage a win for Ray Wilkins today. Neither the players nor the manager could be arsed to bring in their A+ game today - a day after the loss of our own. I honestly do not know how some of people have the passion to defend the players or the board or the manager. Everyone deserves an arse-whooping. The board spend big money to buy average average players! Conte is not a miracle worker and you can expect him to turn turd to curd. Even Moses who looked like a changed player has reverted back to crap this year. The worst part about all these buys is that none of them improve our first team and there are so many in our first team that seem past it. We can chalk most of these players to losses. And with that being the case, why cant Conte experiment with the lineup. Last year all it took was a few defeats for Conte to tinker with the formation to go from back 4 to back 3 and win the league. Why is he married to this formation ? 3 at the back seems to not be working and for a while - Why cant he tinker with the formation again? 4-4-2 / 4-3-3 - these are not revolutionary ideas ! Try something different! Our midfield with Cesc is struggling defensively and lack of pace and physicality, yet Cesc is there constantly. Moses cannot beat his man to put a proper cross for most of the season, yet he is the guy starting. All i know is Emenalo is not to blame for this mess. Edited April 8, 20188 yr by brownindian

April 8, 20188 yr Since Janurary we've arguably been playing worse than we did in 15/16. 15th in the table since the turn of the year, close to relegation form.
April 8, 20188 yr Just back from the game, Been through the thread quickly. Team were clueless from the moment the referee blew the whistle for Ray’s minutes applause by running off thinking it was the second whistle, shambles!! I don’t know what the tv showed but Hazards wasn’t in a good frame of mind today. Any time he lost the ball he just looked like he didn’t care. Looking through everyone’s opinions, what sticks out is some don’t like the starting 11, don’t like who comes on. Which shows that we don’t rate the squad either, yet Conte gets abuse for having to use the squad we are ALL un happy with!! No manager at Chelsea is going to go down the “play the kids route” because you don’t get time in the job to risk it. Someone mentioned Musonda, he can’t even get a start at Celtic in a one team league. We’ve played Christensen this season and people have turned on him because of mistakes. He will learn from the experience, but shows there is no majority opinion on this current squad. Kante and Willian for me today again were our best performers.

I get your point, but he’s gone at the end of the season anyway and he knows it, it’s blatant by his body language. I fail to see how sticking Emerson, Sterling or Odoi in that 11 would harm him and I can’t see them being any worse than what we currently have, there’s no excuses to pick the same 11.
April 8, 20188 yr First well played to the club. A lovely tribute to Ray Wilkins. Tough result to take on a tough day. Plenty of chances squandered and once again we are punished for that. Microcosm of our season. Hart played a blinder which didn't help. Whatever hope Conte had of staying on next year is gone. We're in free-fall now and neither he nor the players look up for it. Sad end to what was something special last season.

Another fcuking disappointment....says a lot that the tribute to ray was the highlight of a miserable day..looks like we're going to finish the season below the arse
April 8, 20188 yr I didn't think we were that bad today and noticed for once he did actually make subs early. Bad luck today yet that is often the way things are when you have another event going on - RIP Ray Wilkins, before my time however the amount of tributes across the board leaves you in doubt he was a class act.

What a statement on the manager use of subs that the 77 minute is considered early! Lol In all honesty I have not looked forward to any of our games since the double header defeat to Bournemouth and Watford. At that point I thought the players had stopped giving their best and so had conte. However I recorded this game and went in to it wanting to see the tribute to butch and was hopeful the players would match it with a winning display by a few goals. And really they should have done. We lost the win because Cahill messed up that header but had our forwards done their jobs it would have been a footnote on a really good day. Even our first goal should not of been, because right before willian missed a sitter. Add that to morata should have had a hat trick. Twice caught poorly offside, add it to his free header he missed the target with from 8 yards out. Add it to Moses messing up a chance to give Eden a free shot from the pen spot and willian fluffing his lines poorly in the second half and what do you have? A game we missed 6 glorious chances to score. Completely on our wasteful players this time for me. How many chances do they need? Real shame that.
April 9, 20188 yr I'm not gonna kick off like I usually would, but I will say I feel so sorry for Kante, gives his all every game and has to play alongside/for people who just don't care.
April 9, 20188 yr Going from bad to worse. Best thing to do at this point is play for fun. Bring in the unused players and let them have a bit of play time. Conte is done as it is. No chance at the FA as well given the form we display. Only luck will have it.
April 9, 20188 yr We should have pissed up in this game primarily because this West Ham team is sh*t. They had a slower midfield than the one that Conte put out (a-fu***ng again just to make a point to the Board), which is saying something. I don't think Alonso has had so much space in a game this season, up against old man Zabaleta. Not that he did much with it. The game should have been done and dusted by half time but we wasted chance after chance and, of course, they get a bit of confidence because of it. Note to Conte...If you're still around in the summer, try and get someone who can cross a ball with venom, and that doesn't mean Ward - Prowse, the commentators favourite, who's the most overrated 'underrated' player on the planet.

On Hazard, though for the first 2/3 of the game he was top draw. Some of his runs and passes were brilliant, unfortunately we just couldn't capitalise on it. But yes, for the latter part of the game his body language was poor. He kept losing the ball and not looking that arsed - which for me just sums up practically this whole season. Shame we never bothered to try and sign Hernendez. ALWAYS a goal threat, especially when playing against us, but we could have just signed him and never played the little f**ker to at least stop him scoring the inevitable goal against us! At least it wasn't Andy Carroll this time.
April 9, 20188 yr Well that was all a bit predictable. Very different to the Tottenham game in the sense I thought we were the better team, and deserved to win. I thought for the most part we played alright to be honest, dominated the majority of the game and created far more than West Ham, but true to form didn't make it count. Didn't trouble Hart enough for the amount of possession we had around their box, but when we did he pulled off two fantastic saves (Alonso & Giroud). As soon as Hernandez came on I knew he was going to score- the game was made for him. Why, oh why, did we lave him unmarked on the edge of our box? He had all the time in the world to open up his body and drive a shot at goal. Surely the players know what he know, i.e. he is a goal scorer who has a track record of always scoring against us? Stick someone on him in the box, make it difficult for him at least. He had yards of space and all the time he needed. The result will have little impact on our season in terms of where we finish. It's 5th or 6th and the difference is fairly negligible in all honesty. But we were playing for pride; it was a chance to show that we still had some fight in us, and that we were re-building morale ahead of the FA Cup. We failed. Conte, again, made it as obvious as possible that he doesn't want to be here. It's such a shame to see someone who was such a revelation last season conduct himself in such a pathetic, and unprofessional manner. I hate to say it, but the sooner he is gone the better for all involved.
April 9, 20188 yr We dominated and played well.Hart had he's best game for a long while and they scored from one of two chances,it happens.Lovely send off for Ray,R I P.After reading some of the stuff on here i realise this forum has gone right down hill and is bloody depressing.Support the club and players through ups and downs ffs. Will take a break for a while i think.....UP THE CHELS !!!!!

Woohoo, get that man a plastic clapper. We used to be sh*t and then good, so going back to sh*t will be okay. Doug Rougvie was cr@p back in the day so Cahill must be great., so lets all be happy. Sorry, unnecessary sarcasm. Not personal. Apologies, just Tottenham and West Ham in a week is pretty hard to swallow.
April 9, 20188 yr Seriously, who was surprised by the result? We played exactly like every other game this year, started slowly, picked up after about 20 minutes, played a decent 40-50 minutes, but never had enough creativity and accuracy to score the goals required. Then all the sudden the defence started to crumble, couldn't defend high looping balls and they scored easy, and should have won the game if Moyes was a bit ambitious. As usual, the manager didn't take any initiatives, for f* sake he even had 1 more reserve to use. Let's not talk rubbish about we don't have enough quality in the team, most of our bench players would have made their first 11. WTF is Roman waiting for? just let Conte go, put his son in charge of the team for all I care.
April 9, 20188 yr Cahill and Azpilicueta were screaming at each other today. And not over the Pikey goal. These are two of the nicest, most professional men in football. Probably too nice. And then Thibaut gets involved. He never speaks to anyone. And there they are yelling at each other. This is what we have become.

April 10, 20188 yr i really miss those days where we were unbeatable at the bridge and our rivals were arfraid to play there, and not loosing to the spuds or getting a draw against a harmless west ham without any sign of fighting..... where are those days?
