I accept that we needed to do something and Higuain is hopefully going to be some improvement on what we have, but yet another signing that is at the very tail end of his career and currently out of form. I wonder why we didn't go and sign the guy that Milan have signed to replace Higuain? He's young and bang in form. Probably something to do with systems I expect. I'd take a 31 year old that has proven he can do it in different leagues and who our manager actually wants over a young 6 month wonder any day of the week.

The way I see it, is Higuain's worst in our side should still be better than what Morata gives day in and day out. I don't see us purchasing Higuain anyways, so this is a win win and we will find a proper striker in the summer (fingers crossed).

Ship Giroud out and have Higuain and one other younger striker. We paid £18m for Giroud, £30m on Higuain ain't the end of the world with the way the market has gone if he's banging them in.

It's not ideal but definitely better than forking over 58m for another Morata. If we do buy Higuain, hopefully then we bring Tammy back into the fold too.
January 23, 20197 yr From Milan, we are very very happy that you take this chubby guy, huge and incredible disappointment. if you were looking for a figheter you made a big mistake. Edited January 23, 20197 yr by andrec21

We won't know for a few matches, though expect the renewal of the Sarri - Higuain relationship to get the best out of him. I would now be tempted to bring back Tammy and let Giroud go if, that is what he wants. I don't think Tammy is EPL standard yet he is certainly keen and so if Higuaín is now just tucking away too much Salami at least we can bring on fresh legs. Have a feeling Higuaín will do well for us this season.

Have a feeling Higuaín? will do well for us this season. The problem with this guy is the same, when everything goes wrong he escapes from the game and starts complaining blatantly. The only team that did not do it was Juventus, because they could leave it out having many alternatives. But if you are happy i'm happy :) I'm agree with you, you also should bring back Tammy Abraham, very talented player.

Higuain is a proven goal scorer that you can't write off playing in an average Milan squad. I'd rather we didn't splash a load of money on a striker currently and scout properly to look to buy a long term striker in the summer. 2 hours ago, RIP Mourinho said: I'd take a 31 year old that has proven he can do it in different leagues and who our manager actually wants over a young 6 month wonder any day of the week. Fair enough, I certainly don't claim to be an expert as that's why I sit at a desk for a living and watch footy on the box instead of working in professional football. One thing I do know is that time will tell how it works out. I'd personally still take the risk on the younger inform player right now as I've seen a few something year old players that have proven they can do it in different leagues before, such as Torres, Morata, maybe even Giroud. No guarantees with any signing of course, it's just that I don't get great vibes about this one. I'm sure I'll be wrong as usual and Higuain will score 15 to 20 goals in the second half the season.
January 23, 20197 yr him coming could be like opening a tap for the team, i just hope he is not another light weight, spending all his time falling over and looking exasperated
January 23, 20197 yr I read that Higuain is already at Stamford Bridge to sign a contract - I thought this is only a loan deal

January 23, 20197 yr Loan only? I guess good for now, but 6 months is a bit rubbish if actually turns out to be half decent.

January 24, 20197 yr I feel a strange sense of inevitability about this transfer. As in, it feels like that at some point Higuain was always going to sign for us. I was always against signing him in the past, but now it's just a relief to have a competent centre forward whom the manager deems to be physically capable of playing for 90 minutes. I think the club have done well to secure a short-term loan with an option to buy. Obviously this mitigates against any major financial investment if he's crap, while leaving the door open for an extended/permanent contract if he turns out to be the answer. Best of luck big man, no pressure or anything...

January 25, 20197 yr Abramovic era we have had: Drogba, Costa, Anelka who have delivered as pure strikers. The other list is much longer. Did I forget someone? Eto'o is probably almost one.
