so much for Spur's new stadium, it's not some holly land that scares opposition teams anymore. If only Ajax had a good traditiona striker, they'd be out of sight in the game. Tadic was good, but he's not playing like a normal striker that gets into scoring positions.

Accompanied with the standard "police were over-reacting/we were just having a good time" defence.

It wont be there fault, it never is.

English fans really are a bunch of prats when it comes to European away fixtures.

Imagine being in your 50s and thinking pushing strangers into a fountain is funny.

If the knob gets twatted by the local old bill he'll be the first to be whinging about it.

Is it really so difficult for fans to behave themselves? If having a drink makes you act like a c**t, then don't drink.

Imagine you went away to Barcelona with your missus for a city break. You wouldn't dream of doing that. Why is it any different if you're out there for football?

Proper baffling.

Also I hate to say this with Ruben doing well and Mount coming through but jeez we could use someone like Van de Beek and his ability to find space in the box and score goals. He has been doing it all through their campaign.

I would be careful with touching players like Van de Beek. He is a raumdeuter; a “space investigator” like Muller and Ali. In the right system they are brilliant; Muller notched 21 league goals in 15/16, Alli 18 league goals in 16/17. However the drop off when those conditions are not present is ridiculous; think Muller dropped to 5 the next season and Alli 9.

These types of players are technically questionable, as the role requires little else other than anticipation, intelligence and the ability to finish. Good luck to whatever team buys him for the £40m+.

I’m sure if it were Chelsea fans it’d be turned in to a racial incident some how.

The Mail have now turned it into a racial incident. But The Guardian have totally ignored it (and they have not yet reported that the police are not charging anyone with racially abusing Sterling).

I’m sure Chelsea were there accompanied by  Nick Griffin.

Interesting lineup from Liverpool - an extra midfielder allows them to deny Barca space centrally and also means they can double up on Messi. Plenty of energy in midfield - Barca starting Vidal though.
