Someone please tell me something about this player. Is he any good? Who would he replace if anyone?

He's got an exosotic name, that's about it, city were buying him as a squad player, people are talking as if he's the second coming, don't see any of the big boys sniffing around him though. Our level these days. Played in the walking football league known as the Italian league, so don't hold much hope, nice to be proved wrong and he's another Zola!!

He plays as a deep lying playmaker for Sarri, our only current player really suited to the same role is Fabregas (although he would struggle at least initially with the defensive side of the role).

If we play the exact same formation as Napoli we would also need a box to box workhorse which would suit Kante (and maybe Bakayoko/ Ampadu) and a mobile roaming playmaker RLC, Golovin and Barkley spring to mind for the role

Jorginho fills a massive hole in our squad for Sarri's Napoli formation

Amazing how now we're rumoured to be signing him he's become a player no one else wants other than city as a squad player.

If Jorginho, Sari and Golovin come they would have to get rid of Cesc, Bakayoko and Barkley

Could spell the end for RLC as he would be 5th choice.

Personnally I don’t see us signing Jorginho as Seri is in London today for talks with Chelsea and they both play a very similar role of dropping deep to distribute the ball

I would also like to see Mount in the 1st team squad next year and get a few games in cups etc

I can picture it now!
"Fast attacking Football here from Chelsea, Sarri has got them playing like this every week! Kante receives the pass, plays it to Golovin who dances his way through to find Jorginho who through balls it to Morata who's through on Goal....OH MY GOD! WHAT A MISS! Wait, Hazard with the rebound! Chelsea score!"
Chelsea 1 - 3 Man City

:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2: I gotta admit this caught me off guard hahahaha

City have got a great squad though, I'm sure a lot of us would've been happy with bernardo silva last summer, and he has only been a squad player city so far.

Fernandinho is 33, I'm sure city would be seeing jorginho as his replacement over next season.

Most of the best teams in the world already have a player or two of jorginho's ilk in their team already, so it's understandable real, barca, bayern, and psg aren't in for him, because he is wouldn't be a clear upgrade on the likes of busquets, thiago, verratti, kroos. Certainly no shame in that.

I think the excitement around this possible signing, would be that it would hopefully help sarri implement his style easier, since jorginho is a main cog in his napoli side.

I don't get why there is so much snobbery around signing a player from outside the premier league, especially when said player has played well in the champions league against top opposition.

Salah came from 'the walking football league' and broke goal scoring records.

There are great players that play outside of the big teams, and the big leagues, every transfer is a gamble anyway, and we have probably had more success with bringing in players from outside of the premier league, than we have with domestic transfers.

If you aren't happy with signing jorginho, I'm not sure there will be any pleasing you to be honest.

The walking football argument is dumb considering Napoli play with more speed,  movement and intensity then we do.

Dont bother with these lot. They never watched Napoli and think the best solution to stopping Pep Guardiola in the coming years is to play 20th century football with a traditional number 9 who can hold the ball with all his 6'5 ft height. Because that's how Real Madrid and more recently Liverpool bested them! Not.

I’ve heard he’s decent but him & seri had 4 & 6 assists in the league last season respectively. Are we going to have enough assists in the side? Or would they come from further forward from someone like Golovin or RLC or Mount?

Tom, when I finally sell the club and retire to live full time on my Eclipse yacht among bottles of Cristal, bowls of caviar and high class escorts, there'll always be a place for you there, my friend, for you are a joy to be around.

Thought City would have signed him up a month ago, somehow they haven't and I believe we are in the chase because of the Sarri factor, just not sure whom we are waiting for, the manager or the player to get this deal done. They played hard ball for a month over 5M, I don't see why they just would  let City have him for 35-40M.

It's absolutely tragic. Now all we need is for someone to claim it just blocks youth players

Not happy with this signing at all, all it’s going to block the progress of our youth players, what more can RLC and Mount possibly do to earn a place in the team when we’re signing average players like this purely to block their path!!!!

Seri is off to Fulham

And it was DiMarzio reporting this, so it is most likely true.

Could mean we are indeed signing Golovin, so if the Jorginho rumors prove true, we would have Golovin-Jorginho-Cesc-RLC-Bakayoko-Kante-Barkley-Drinkwater

At least 2 must be sold or loaned out.
