That's precisely why it's super risky but also why I can see it's a great project from the player's pov.

Like Saul, if he's sh*t then it's all over

What they've very cleverly done, which almost no one in the media is talking about, is the risk comes in when you're offering contracts with standard structure but on longer terms. Boehly and Co. are offering incentivised contracts which mitigates some of the risk of long contracts. This was mentioned at the start of the season and then seems to be forgotten.

Mudryk is on less than 100k basic wage,  but if he reaches his targets and the team performs well, I'll bet my house that he'll earn roughly 200k/week. If he's sh*t it won't cost us a ton. This also may be why Mount is taking long to renew because he must have a feeling his position as a starter is under threat, so an incentivised deal is not ideal.

Whether you agree with the boards strategy or not one thing I'm loving is opposition fans reactions. They were pissing themselves laughing when we were sanctioned now they are incredulous when we start buying players. Gooners especially the smug tweets about Felix and Mudryk to the meltdown when they joined us has been a joy to see it's really made those N1 tossers choke on their frapuccinos.

I REALLY REALLY hate them Woolwich f**kers, more than any other. Always calling out other clubs but blinkered about their past. Are you all aware how they got into the league in the first place. The original corrupt c**ts.

New GK

Reece Badiashile Fofana Chilly

New Mid New Mid

Madueke/Sterling Nkunku/Felix Mudryk

Felix/Nkunku

This may be our new look squad by next year. Once Todd, Eghbali and co. bring in sports doctors from the top hospitals, we may be looking at a potential fight to reclaim Top 4 back. If the new CMs and GK works out, we can begin title talks

Hahaha so instead of UEFA digging into these ridiculous sponsors that keep popping up to fund City or looking into how the f**k Barcelona are operating with all these levers, they are instead looking to cap the contract length on players to 5 years so clubs can't bypass FFP with prolonged contracts.

The club is taking the financial risk by having  these contracts too so why does it need to be restricted? Honestly I am convinced UEFA/FA see the club name and the rules completely change.

They can change what they like, by the time it takes effect it won't affect us.

FFP has always been a complete crock and has been utterly ineffective. Wages, transfer fees etc. have gone through the roof in recent years.

Ffp was literally brought in to protect the teams at the top and make it as difficult as possible to break their little cabal. Look at how little (if anything) UEFA did over the Barcelona debacle, they threatened their own players and demanded ridiculous wage cuts etc while spending millions on players. Yet not a word was said.

This is delicious!

It is so blatant it's unreal, UEFA did nothing about Barcelona and their 4 levers (essentially re-mortgaging 4 times), UEFA threatened to kick Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus out of UEFA competitions because they was behind the Super League, and still to this day these clubs have refused to admit defeat, but of course UEFA did nothing!

UEFA do nothing about PSG and Man City fiddling the books.

Yet 2 weeks of of transfer activity from Chelsea and they are rushing in a rule to start this summer on the length of contracts.

Pure corruption, favoritism to some clubs and blatant hatred to Chelsea from UEFA.

They laughed when we was sanctioned, laughed when Roman was forced to sell but now we've survived and are looking to rebuild everyone is afraid and crying.

We are on the way back!

Trust the process people.

P.S. lets go nuts in this last week and offer Enzo & Bellingham 10 year contracts each!

They can’t change f**k all without FIFA agreeing.

100%!

Nothing was said when Arsenal gave Fabregas a 8 year contract or when Saul got a 9 year contract.

I'm convinced if we took all this evidence to the Court of Arbitration for Sport we could embarrass UEFA.

Will just encourage the owners to spend even more and hand out long deals this window to yet more players then.

Barcelona's levers are just them selling future income to get the cash now. It'll affect them for decades to come.FFP still gives more spending power to top clubs, doesn't even anything up

As EUFA and FIFA love money more than football, they will never stop money pouring into game.

I would be surprised if those organisations have a specific agenda against us though, it's become obvious we using long contracts on an industrial scale, it's f**king risky and could cost us in the long run, and we've still got the ticking time bomb of dividend payouts to investors down the line.

Chelsea, always something!

I'd like to get diverted by watching us play some decent football .. eventually 😁😁😁
