Should have had at least 2 pens, but if it was a fix you gotta wonder why he sent a Barca player off with 20 odd minutes to go. ? We were thru with that early goal, ref f**ked it up, what a sh*te night that was.

One might have been enough, but he could have awarded four: fouls on Malouda and Drogba, handballs against Piqué and Eto'o.

The only legitimate, but very dodgy way, is that they are pooling revenue from all of their feeder clubs into city, whilst allowing those individual clubs to run at a loss.

I'd be interested to see comparable revenues for those clubs vs other clubs in their league.

E.g. all their clubs have fly Etihad on their shirts. Do they receive any revenue for that, or does it all go to man city?

Logically if I'm a legitimate sponsor, I'm spending more to see my name on a shirt for man city, Melbourne city and New York City, than I am for just man united or Chelsea.

But that money should be marked against all three clubs, not just man city.

Of course, I've not seen any information on this. Because it's just this unspoken rule that man city are allowed to be the biggest revenue club despite having a much smaller following globally than the historically big clubs.

That’s a good spot and possibly is something Clearlake have spotted and why Todd spoke about multi-club plans, aside from the scouting/player development side of it. Typically though, the second we do it, legislation will come to put a stop to it.

They also inflated their revenue figures, all this was revealed but they seem to get away with it  I think PL are still investigating City ?

I reckon they are too scared of their legal team to actually punish them .

I think that as well. Just bloody look at the amount of lawyers they had to swindle their way out of the 2013 revenue fraud .

Surprised about the Baba Rahman facts. His loan club is paying 3% of his wages and we are paying the rest. He's actually on more than some of our current players who are at the club. Some of those signings that failed for us under the old regime are still costing us.

And that's what worries me about the extra long contracts, if those signings don't work out we are lumbered for years and years with those players on our books, it'll be worse than what we've experienced in the past.

On the other hand, if we have somehow reversed what's happened previously , then it'll be great for us. Still a big gamble though I reckon.

Already happened with Koulibaly, we're stuck with him for 5 years. Our January signings look promising though.

It feels like we are mitigating that risk by offering lower guaranteed wages with higher add ons. So if they do flop it'll be easier to move them on but if they succeed they will be happy with their pay.

I think Mudryk is on about half what we'd have given him when we signed Baba. I think he might even be on less than Baba is now.

Mudryk also is at a level where if he doesn't make it, it won't need to be a championship club he goes to next...

GK (3)

Kepa / Raya(?) / Betinelli

DEFENDERS (10)

Chilwell / Cucurella

Silva / Colwill / W Fofana / Badiashille

Koulibaly / Chalobah

R James/ Gusto

CM (6)

Kovacic /Kante / (Enzo/Caicedo/Onana)

Gallagher / Chukwuemeka / Zakaria

ATTACKERS (6)

Nkunku / Felix(?) / Mudryk

Madueke / Sterling / Mount

That's a squad of 25. It's not including

RLC, Mendy, Maatsen, Hall, Auba, Havertz, Broja, Ziyech, D Fofana, Pulisic, Slonina....and more

There's going to be a lot of business happening in the summer but it's only going to be one way. Realistically we could hold onto Hall, Broja and Maatsen for depth. But no more than that.

Can't wait for us to win the league next year and tell Scousers we had a positive net spend in the summer.

Here is my hypothetical training game ... Boehly Signings vs Pre-Boehly ... 🙂

Who wins ? LOL

image.png.276bc1537b70c8ddc9301aad02db270c.png

And the winner gets to take on the loan army LOL

The main takeaway is that we now have far too many players 🙂

And of course that the women's team will probably beat all three of mine LOL

Not sure if this has always been the case, but I am really, really loving this incentive contract approach. No longer will we have players content with inconsistency.

Good.

I wonder if that is why Mount has not signed?

Our contracts has been crazy for a while. Our top performers were under earning while our big earners weren’t. Says something when Drinkwater was on £130k p/w.

"I suspect big clubs don't like Todd Boehly coming in and thinking creatively".  Sometimes the truth hurts.  UEFA and FIFA are pleasing their masters.

"Big clubs" don't like it?

We're Chelsea,. We ARE a big club

It might be but I think Mount will eventually sign, I don't think there is any other PL team that is going to offer the money we are offering him. Mount is getting a huge salary because he's been one of our best players for the last couple of seasons and also because of the symbol of him being an academy product and what he means for the club and fans. Other clubs won't see the latter as a reason to offer him a heft wage so his options are limited to us.

Once again can't argue with what Jordan is saying. The other main takeaway is one that we all already knew. What a repetitive mindless fking cretin that clown Jim White is. How is this tw@t still working.

The level of investment the new owners have brought to the table is unprecedented.  I assume there is a long term plan, but this is a different level and far exceeds anything I could a have imagined.  Honestly, I'm really enjoying it.  The statement of intent will make the current team (pre-Jan transfers) stand up a little and can see us going on a better run.

That said, to me this continues to be a long term play.  We are in year 1 of a 1-3 year restructuring on and off the field.  I didn't expect the investment to happen with quite this pace, but I admire their ambition and willingness to go toe-to-toe with state funded/backed teams.

KTBFFH Todd and team!

This was always long term I don’t expect anything really until the third season it’s a process and we have to be patient.

There is a reason the others are complaining to UEFA and  FIFA ” look FIFA they are not playing fair “

They simply didn’t expect this kind of investment.
