February 1, 20233 yr I'm not sure on Fernandez, yet with Mudryk too what a message this sends to the league and our players as well , as for the rest of the squad it's time to step up lads. Was hoping we would get right back cover. I think Mudryk will come good and lift the squad though without that right back cover don't see us in the top 4 this season. February 1, 20233 yr Fair play to owners they are clearly serious about us getting right back to the top, the rival fan tears are tremendous😂👌🏼

February 1, 20233 yr Can't nobody say the new ownership doesn't have ambition. All that "scattergun" sh*te from the media is nonsense. They know what they are doing, despite some (who've never run a business, let alone a sports franchise) claiming otherwise. Edited February 1, 20233 yr by enigma

He has zero credibility on squad building 😂
February 1, 20233 yr Rival fans were happy that we were on the brink of administration this time just last year. Just remember that.
February 1, 20233 yr Definitely worth mention that the UEFA Champions League new format beginning in 2024 will allow 5 Premier League clubs instead of 4. Something our new owner/board have likely considered.

February 1, 20233 yr One figure close to the Chelsea owners was contacted about the spending, their response was “We’re just getting started” (@JacobSteinberg) #CFC Somebody please open the Kylian Mbappe thread in the transfer section. 😁

February 1, 20233 yr Bohley is definitely a disruptor. It’s brilliant. Just like Roman in 2003, he’s shaken things up.
February 1, 20233 yr Considering how other clubs been manipulating books to get around FFP, Boehly and his crew really didn't do much wrong, just used a loop hole like a good lawyer would. If a employee wants to sign a life long contract with an employer, nobody else's business to stop them. I'm glad the transfer window is over, now get back to football instead of talking about money ( and not even our money) 😄

What do you think @PrinceOfPortugal?
February 2, 20233 yr USATodd got sh*t on for not knowing what he was getting into. 6 months later, they're closing loopholes because of him. What a legend.

Napoli's owner was the worst to negociate with when they were 4th or 5th in Italy. Imagine him negociating as Serie A Champions and already thinking of UCL final stages already. He'd not negociate for less than 150M for Osimhen. Just the thought of this makes my head spin, nevermind the negociatori. Good luck to those who will try to do any deals with Napoli's owner come next summer, they will need the most of IT hahah.

February 2, 20233 yr I’m enjoying all the bitterness and crying of everyone who’s not Chelsea. It does feel like we’ve got our Chelsea back! ’They broke the rules!’ - No we didn’t. ‘It’s not fair!’ - Life isn’t fair. ’No pathway for the youth!’ - The squad is full of academy players. ’x club/manager didn’t get all this money to spend and still won.’ - Yes they did, just over a longer period. There’s none of this when City makes up new sponsorship deals for millions from a company set up two seconds ago and is owned by their owners cousin.
February 2, 20233 yr What about when Stamford Bridge becomes the Clearlake Stadium? That should raise a few bob too.

February 2, 20233 yr It will be interesting to see how much we continue to spend given the majority of the rebuild is complete. There’s only so many players we can buy. I don’t want the club to buy more players without any thought and clear strategy.

I love the line I've seen a few times "it's not in the spirit of the fair play rules" As if it's akin to not kicking the ball back after an injury.

We also need probably some experience to the side IF we want results a bit faster. Buying 20 year old guys who are completely untested and more so untested in the worlds toughest league is not buying us security by any means. Trimming down the squad to let Potter find his core and starting 11 also takes time. We are very far from being a title contender.
February 2, 20233 yr Really interesting podcast with Matt Law on how the deals were done - Enzo, Ziyech, Gusto etc. Great insight https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/london-is-blue-chelsea-fc-soccer-podcast/id914691565?i=1000597654065
