Is last night and this season validation of the owners strategy and plan?

Also, where was Beghali? Only saw Todd

I think this is a milestone showing they are doing something right. You need milestones like this to get validation on a strategy or a plan.

Todd must have won the rock-paper-scissors on who gets to sit next to old Orange. 😄

Tangible evidence of going in the right direction. Validation would only be multiple premier league or champions league Imo.

As a side point, it was always ridiculous how Carragher and many others commented that they had no plan whatsoever. Fair enough if you wanted to criticise it but their strategy is and was blindingly obvious.

That mentality rugby coach guy helped us. The results weren't instant but every small step helps

Saw an piece today on his impact at the club, does sound like he has a very positive role now, developing mental strength in the younger players.

Its a big part of Rugby League the transition from Attack to defence on an error, its the most difficult thing to do is get a kid to realis they have to put it instantly out of their mind and get back into game state.

I can't help but like Todd despite all the missteps along the way. I think he actually cares about winning.

Clearlake on the other hand...

My sentiments exactly.

He seems to care about sporting achievements and his heart is in the right place even if his execution is poor the other lot ….. they can get f**ked!!!

Yeah, and to be fair to him when he had a stint at director of football he bought players he thought would help us immediately.

Yeah he does seem to be involve for the right reasons, and has definitely taken to being a fan much more than the other ones who just seem to be investors.

I saw a picture of Eghbali sitting and smirking while Al-Khelaïfi looked so grumpy in the back

Let me see if I can find that picture

I thought I would never say this but thank god for AI as we should be able to remove a certain someone quite easily from the trophy lift when it comes out that he's a orange nonce.

Sorry couldn't help myself.

Hopefully Maresca can use this momentum and good feelings going into the start of the season, apart of me hopes they don't sign anyone else now and just ship out what they can. Maybe a new Goalkeeper but can't help but think they will stick with what they have after last night.

I am liking the Levi/Trev partnership, please don't sell Trev.

Could just do a Willian and place trophies over his face 😆

I think there are offers but they were waiting to see what cultivates after the club world cup final.

4 years of being labeled Champions of the World with the marketing exposure that gets, will definitely lure some high attraction. This is also considering we are now a Champions League club again too.

Willie Isa is a privileged princess compared to most of the players at Chelsea, tbh. Not sure he'd be doing much and he's not exactly a poster child for team spirit.

True but all of that means less because there's no incumbent sponsor to compete with and there's always going to be scepticism that we will bomb the next season.

It doesn't matter though, the next deal is the important one.

So Man City have just agreed a 1bn pound 10 year kit deal with Puma. Clearlake appear to have secured absolutely nothing with anyone. Is there any faint possibility we may one day secure a shirt sponsorship deal for a whole season?

From what I read there wasn’t an expectation that the shirt sponsor would be announced before the CWC but without doubt if there is one ( which I think is much more likely than not) we won’t know about who it is or what sum they are paying for a few weeks.

The last snippet I heard is that the fee will be between £55 million and £65 million and the smart money is on a Middle East airline.

As for commercial income the growth , despite not having a FOS sponsor for a full season since 3 is quite interesting

20/21 £153 m

21/22 £177m the last RA ownership year

22/23 £210m

23/24 £225m

The strategy seems to far more focused on a greater number of club partners ( akin to Arsenal)

For a team that's co-owned by guys like Magic Johnson, Mark Walter etc. they sure do take their time.

So long as we're not being sponsored by gambling companies, I think we are good.

Where are you getting all those numbers from ?

The club's accounts show different (much lower than yours) numbers for Commercial revenue apart from 20/21 which is in sync

20/21 £153.6m (vs £153m)

21/22 £150.6m (vs £177m)

22/23 £175.3m (vs £210m)

23/24 £175.5m (vs £225m)

Here's the last two years for example :

<EDIT: And here is 2021/22's £150.6m :

Well,

We were the World Club Champions anyway when Todd/ClearLake bought us .

We only qualified for this competition because we actually won the Champions League under the previous ownership.

We are indebted to Roman ( sorry Evissy) for the opportunity to have competed in this competition.

But, fair play, I can't take anything away from the team, the club, the coach for this magnificent win . Every Chelsea fan wants the "plan" to work. But Todd said it was working "beautifully" at the end of the season that then saw Poch being sacked.

Less player trading, more settled squad , time to bond, would be beneficial.

Come on you BLUES !

I would have preferred just Todd . And it was going to be just Todd right up to just before the deadline when he brought in an investment company. . I've never understood why , because he's effectively under their control isn't he ?

Anyway, let's hope everything keeps moving forward football wise.

I suspect we had a bunch of commercial offers on the table before Orange Mussolini knew he wasn’t part of the celebrations.

The missed exposure of the front of shirt sponsor from us winning the CWC and all the extra coverage gain with the Orange Mussolini in the picture is massive.

That’s commercial coverage you can’t buy it’s once in a lifetime time coverage especially with Mango Mussolini in the picture.

That picture will be shared or decades to come, no other winning team had a sitting US president photo bomb their celebrations.

Massive missed opportunity for a shirt sponsor!!
