Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club.

No investment mentioned for the first team lol.

Guess I have to make peace with both Clearlake and Wyss, who have indicated they have no interest in football and are there to make money, owning our club.

Very relieved this is done. I don’t know what the best outcome would be - time will tell. But I admire Boehly’s openness and sincerity thru the process. 
Totally a stretch, but recall one of the few baseball games I went to was the local to me Atlanta Braves vs the LA Dodgers, who arrived like a damn professional machine. I’ll take that kind of structure. 

Well that's the ball rolling. Hopefully the whole process doesn't take too long, we can finish the season on a high with the FA Cup and next season we'll really see what it's like without Roman.

I'm cautiously optimistic about our new owners, especially Boehly who I have heard many good things about.

Relieved things are moving now on this front as the last two months have been stressful as a fan.

first team investment is a given though, that is arguably going to be where most investment will actually be made.   

 

Anti Glazer clause also stops Wyss and Clearlake sucking money out.  

 

This now hopefully means we can at least get some f**king momentum in contracts, renewals and summer plans.

I think a potentially huge summer is upon us, 

 

Strange the statement did not mention Jonathan Goldstein, whereas Boehly, Wyss and Walter were.   Has he dropped out?

Don't believe so. Maybe @JM7 will know better. 

Also nothing changes with contracts and the like until the sanctions are lifted.

Likely means we will be a bigger not smaller club, but we’ve lost a season. Next year is another rebuild now. 

Have to look at the price a bit skeptically. The future investment not really part of purchase price and anyone owning the club would need to do at least part of that in normal course of business. 

Glad to put this to bed so we can focus on football

I read this morning that Goldstein is still part of the consortium as he will be leading on the rebuilding stuff.
