If a team finishes TOP of the pile and wins the PL, then they and their coach will have deserved it. Bit like Leicester under Ranieri - yes the circumstance went for them but they still fully deserved all the plaudits. There is a massive difference between WINNING the PL as opposed to just finishing higher than the other also-rans.
May 8, 20197 yr No there isn’t, winning the league is just a prize for finishing first. It happens you were better than 19 teams over 38 games instead of 17 teams. You can’t control the quality of the opposition.

As I say, whoever wins the PL this season (and I pray it's City), they will deserve it and it's a massive difference to us, Utd, Arsenal and Spurs struggling to achieve a top 4 spot.
May 8, 20197 yr Will the 5th place PL team now get a CL spot?P.S. how many Chelsea fans will be watching the final?[emoji6]

After the CL semi-final results it would only take Arsenal to beat us in the final of the Europa to make this officially the worst season ever in the history of football.

Both us and Arsenal have Sh*t defenses and average midfields (even more so if Kante is injured) difference is they have quality strikers and we do not. They will out score us with a manager who knows how to win the Europa league if we get there.

Despite having the worst season ever and playing the worst football in the history of the sport with a manager doesn't have a clue what he's doing, we still managed to finish above Arsenal in the league.

Oh come on, this time it wasn't defeatist (but only this time ), it was merely painting the worst possible scenario. Which won't happen, obviously

And if we beat Leicester, above spurs too. Also our sh*t defense is the 4th best in the PL. 2 goals behind spurs.

May 9, 20197 yr All things considered, it has been a good season for us. Although it stings to lose a cup final, but two, would it be a good season if we lost another final? Logically yes it would but that's not how many others would see it I'm afraid.

Top four, one lost cup final and a potential second final in a European cup (if we go through tonight, which I don’t see too easy to do) would be a good season given the change in football style we are attempting and the team we have.

To tell you the truth, it would have been better to get out in semis losing to Eintracht than to lose the final to LeArses (and godforbid the Spuds get the CL!), so we will need to win the damn Cup.

I get the point you’re making, but a one off game is completely different to an entire league campaign. Second worse football ever, Wimbledon were worse than us - just
