Fikayo Tomori

We can only move players on who want to move on and who have clubs interested in them. Rudiger decided to stay put and it doesn't look like anyone put in a bid for Christensen (maybe we didn't invite interest but still...)

This leaves Silva, Zouma, Christensen and Rudiger as our centre backs until January. That should be ok.

And clearly Tomori didn't want to leave either!

He must fancy his chances against Christensen and Rudiger, with us having to play games every 3 days he'll surely get a chance.

To be fair he's only got to stick around for 2 months to see how much football he'll play.

If he's getting little playing time he can find a suitable club in January.

I like that he wants to stick around and fight for his place.

He should be behind Thiago and Zouma in the pecking order but Lampard seems to have a thing for Christensen but I hope that’s in the past.

I'm really not understanding why Christensen is getting such a hard time of it at the moment, he's been very good so far this season even with the red factored in.

Because he’s nowhere near Chelsea class.

Anyone else feels he needs to bulk up a bit, you rarely get CB with his build. If you look at Puyol and Canvaro they weren't the tallest but they were well buiit I feel he needs to bulk at big to at some strength to take him up a level

Is this Tomori or Christensen?

This time last year people were saying the exact same thing about Zouma.

Who did?

Christensen has never been at Zouma’s level of potential, physicality & developing brain cells.

Looking increasingly like he's going to be loaned out in January - not getting game time in the most dead rubber of dead rubbers must suggest that he isn't in our immediate plans, and that he is the fifth choice of five centre-backs in a team who more or less exclusively play a back four.

He's only had 45 minutes of game time this season outside of the League Cup (and even that was after Christensen had been sent off, Silva wasn't fit and Rüdiger was out in the cold). He's 23 in less than a fortnight - it doesn't seem like there's much point sticking around, certainly not for the rest of this season.

Would love to know what's happened behind the scenes since his run early last season, deserved to stay in the team then and should be third choice now given Silva and Zouma's form.

Some information on the situation would be nice, he just got dropped out of nowhere last season. Refused a loan this season so he clearly wants to be here and I don't think he made errors to the level of Christensen and Rudiger. This one really baffles me...

This is becoming a complete mystery, hopefully someone will ask Frank about Tomori in a press conference. Only one appearance since the restart (excluding league cup) and he was a regular starter during the most successful period of last season.

Unbelievably strange...

I didn't want him to see almost no game time like has happened but I think there's a bit of rewriting of history with him last season.

He had an excellent first month or so but from Lillie away onwards he was making big mistakes (that luckily for him were going unpunished) almost every game until he got eventually dropped.

Maybe because they were unpunished it made those mistakes less memorable, but Christensen and Rudiger were pretty horrific for a period and even Zouma made a bunch of mistakes later on in the season. Lamps was rotating and trying to find his best CB partnership but it rarely included Tomori, this was at a point where our defense was so bad that it almost didn't matter who we played, some of us were even thinking all 3 should be shipped out retaining only Tomori who has benefit of doubt as he played so little.

Zouma clearly recovered his form first and now it seems Christensen and Rudiger aren't doing too badly either and who knows what is going on behind the scenes. I guess no harm done if they both maintain their levels. Still would like a concrete reason why he isn't playing though.

He did make some shocking mistakes and kept making them. I remember the Lille game he made two very bad ones toward the end of the game and if they scored from either of them that would've been it.

He's very lucky that no one has capitalised on the mistakes he made like Barcelona did with Christensens dodgy pass two years ago.

I do feel for Tomori, he is talented, I think we saw that last season. But there must be a reason he's not being played. If anything, I seriously want this guy to go out on a loan to a Premier League club, whatever happened to that?

Not sure why everyone is surprised, we have 5 centre backs one of them was always going to be left out. Tomori is the easiest to drop because hes the youngest and still learning. Newcastle or West Ham on loan in January hopefully. As Slojo said last season his passing was painful, but then when he didn't play everyone for get about that made him out to be prime Maldini.
