Andreas has to do better there, free header that he’s running on to. Probably the one big weakness in his game for me, attacking headers in the opposition box. JT used to bury those for fun.

I've never seen a player as bad as headers as he is, he's missed some absolute sitters in the past also. 

Still a long way to go.

but we still lack experience. And can’t keep a clean sheet to save our lives. The only thing I’m pissed off is why did Ross take the penalty?

We had our team balance shifted early on when we lost Mason. But i dont think we are out of this by any imagination, we have a team capable of performing away from home, and tonight with Mount on the pitch we could of done a lot better. 

 

We got out foxed today we just have to get our heads up and go again...

He doesn't even hit the target, I think he just doesn't have it in him

Really poor performance. I don’t think a single player covered themselves in any glory. Mount going off early didn’t help us, it seemed to kill any atmosphere in the stadium. Hopefully we can come back from this and recover a decent position in the group. 

I'm seriously starting to doubt Azpilicueta as a captain, first the Kepa incident and now this penalty where he clearly needed to tell Barkley to step away. It's likely he wont be starting for us anymore in the near future with Reece James coming in.  

Let's not over-react. Barkley had the balls to step up and take responsibility at a key moment, just like Tammy did against Liverpool a few games back. It didn't work out, but we can recover from this in the remaining games.

Well sh*t happens. Just about deserved a draw but what can you do. Long way to go yet. 

I agreed with the Barkley sub, I don't think the subs were much of a problem, maybe should have been added earlier instead of after the 70th mark. The goal conceded had nothing to do with the subs, it's once again a lack of leadership, I can't wait until Rudiger is fully fit, such an important player in that backline at the moment. 

In hindsight, the pen is the culmination of the game for us. Played well, was given chance after chance but in the end couldn't put the ball in the net.

Gutted.

Crap game of football, crap performance, a big set back and another crucial player injured. Tonight was like watching us last season, clueless up front and slow all over the pitch. 

I think instead of having Giroud on, Frank should've just had the existing players commit more in attack. Also Pulisic should've played over Pedro, fair play in doing something ballsy to get the win but after the change there was only the possibility of a draw or worse

The Barkley incident wasn't the worst, the goal itself was, who was marking who? Where is the organisation? Why the f**k is Tammy marking their striker and not our two centrebacks? 

I don't rate Azpilicueta as a captain mind. 

4 events changed the game -

Mount injury, people slagging off Southgate for playing him last week, but why ? Hes become moire important to this team than Pedro or Willy in a few weeks

Change of formation - within minutes we'd conceded with their only shot on target, back 4 no good with Dave & Alonso

The pen miss, really no player should miss that important opportunity to save a point

Could say the manager was behind the last 2 , but that would be a stretch.

And the most important - the inability to convert a good few  chances over the 90

 

 

Let's face it, we are not good enough for CL, It will take some time to build this team, at the moment we are playing like a mid table PL team and an EL team at best.

We are so slow in our build up that an amateur team can defend against us, We have a weak midfield that gets bypassed easily, And the defense is atrocious.

So until the injured players come back and we improve our collective game, this is our level.
