Kai Havertz

Featured Replies

The move to England is probably 12 months too early. In an ideal world we might have loaned him out for 6 months to get acclimatised but his price tag said no. When you add in Covid and all the lockdowns etc it must be pretty hard to settle in a new country. He hasn't shone on the pitch at all and hopefully his confidence won't be affected long term. A goal at the end would have been just the fillip he needed to kickstart his Chelsea career.

It's a tough league to come into, only the very best make it look seamless. But Tuchel won't be able to keep a luxury like that in the team for too long.

Tuchel could have just played Mount there on the left side where Kai was most of the game. Can't do much when Chilwell simply doesn't care to look up anyway.

Somehow based on 1 training Tuchel saw that Kai is already better than Mount, even so that doesn't mean that he can play that particular position better than him.

3 bloody center backs on the pitch, we could of easily had Mount instead of Rudiger or Azpilicutea,

Or just start the game with Mount and not Havertz, it's Mount's natural position...

He didn't start the game with Werner, he could have had Havertz on the bench as well.

I don't understand how was Havertz in Tuchel's eyes better there in comparison to Mount that has been playing that particular position the best for 2 seasons now.

Considering you rate Havertz so highly, what is his preferred position? How is it that wherever he plays it's out of position in your opinion? Today you are blaming Chilwell again for Havertz inability to contribute anything.

What does it matter to you when I'm living in a parallel universe anyway? You dislike Havertz I get it, doesn't matter to me I said I thought Mount should have started the game, if you think that Chilwell played well we have nothing to talk about...

At least we can agree on Chilwell playing awful.

He is one of the few players that makes attacking runs, could be effective if the team is built around him but becomes completely useless if he's used as a midfield generalist. I wouldn't say Bakayoko but he's more of an Ozil type.

Thought he was a bit better today but still don’t think he should be starting. Wouldn’t go as far as saying he’s Kepa level but it’s not looking great. Hard to justify keeping Mount or Pulisic out of team for him against Burnley. As others have said he’s playing the safe option too much and I think himself,Ziyech and Chillwell slowed things down way too much in the wolves halve tonight.

For the price and the position he plays you cant just keep it simple all the time.

Well mate you didn't buy Messi, or some proven player. At that age and in these times he was always going to be a risk. I dont understand what do people get out of constant bashing. You lot managed to completely f up Kepa. Don't do it to others as well.

I thought Havertz played well. Maybe I was watching a different game

You were, he was awful, even a simple 5 yard pass back to a teammate goes in the air, so it’s difficult to control, he maybe though just needing a season, and to get over covid, some players also need a crowd to get them going and raise their game, hope he improves but a very poor start

Not involved enough. He was the best of a truly awful front three where I would say he was poor, Giroud terrible and Ziyech a waste of space.

Real concerns around Ziyech. Doesn’t do enough defensively, and can’t beat his man.

Add to that injury prone and not working hard enough to for me. A real disappointment of late. Was very excited to see him signed but, like you, I am concerned.

I really dislike ziyech. I don't see how someone who is so one footed can succeed in the premier league.

Surely you're getting them though?

Remember how when Bakayoko was afraid to touch the ball because every time he got it he gave it away. It's getting like that with Havertz. 7/10 he gives the ball away when it comes to him, it's ridiculous...
