Kai Havertz

Hes not a striker, hes not a false 9, playing him there is a complete waste of his talents, Tuchel is basically ruining his confidence completely playing him out of position, seems to be a theme with him.

What is he then ?

In the summer internationals, he played at CF for Germany against England, and did far far better than he did as a CAM for Germany against Hungary ... not the first time he's been played at CF for his national side either, so it seems TT is not alone in playing him up front.

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that his best position is at another club LOL.

He has almost always played as an AM for Germany, in a very similar position to where he was best for us under Lampard, linking up well with Mount. From what I can remember for Germany he played in a similar role to Lampard actually, would come into midfield, but seemed to cause havoc making late runs into the box, get beyond the strikers and score goals from there. Having him as a central striker contacting the Centre backs is totally worthless.

Havertz being good under Lampard is a complete myth.

He was getting bullied by everyone and had scored one goal by the time Lampard was sacked. If anything he was worse under Lampard which should suggest that he's just not that good.

Lampard put him as the lone AM in a 4-2-3-1 for 3 matches in a row and Kai managed to score in one match, win a penalty in the next and make an assist in the third match. From that point on he basically played all possible positions and wasn't that good and had the 'rona as well at some point...

Under Tuchel his best period was while he was a false 9, even if he didn't score enough goals the players around him were more involved and we won the CL. Then came in Lukaku and Havertz stopped playing as a false 9 and tried to play as a regular striker. And now we're here at this point where he looks very much uninspiring and lost in space.

Just another talent that is walking the tight rope and that will eventually be known as just another flop in due time if this continues... But at least we won the f**king Champions League

I disagree with Kai not being a false 9 I think that and a number 10 are the only positions I've seen him do anything of note. Everywhere else he offers very little for me.

I don't like him in a strike duo though it has to be sole striker (false 9). He's very ineffective when he plays on the left or right of a front 3 from what I've seen under TT he just offers nothing. He's not great at running at defenders, for a player to play that position in modern football they need to be a top tier dribbler.

Dribbling is not Kai's forte he's good at holding up the ball and bringing others in, don't understand why TT has used him as a strike duo with Sterling, he's essentially played 352 which just doesn't work in the prem. Sterling is best either side a striker, Kai is best as a sole false 9 why has he played them both in sub-optimal positions (from my opinion) I just don't know.

We know this to be the case Sterling's best performances for City came on the wing not as a striker, Kai's best performances for Chelsea especially under TT have come at false 9 where he was the sole striker.

He needs to be dropped for a game or two at least so we can see what others can offer. I still think a back 4 and Pulisic LW, Sterling RW, Mount AM, and Kai false 9 plays some really good football.

On the occasions when Havertz is slipped through, when does he ever shoot though? He just tries to beat one to many defenders and loses the ball. We are sorely lacking someone with a real drive to score at all costs. Someone who is going to be pissed off if they don't get a goal every game. Someone who is going to battle and scrap and throw themselves at anything near the goal. We've got too many namby pambys who just faff around with it, trying to show off.

Those metrics literally mean nothing. Looks what happens when he actually gets the ball in the box. Either is far too slow to do anything with it or slips on his arse when taking a weak shot that either doesn't hit the target or hits a defender.

Not enough. He's got too many deficiencies really to play as a centre forward right now. Not too many good goalscorers around really, and then we still have to weed-out the ones who can't play with their back to goal or put a real shift.

If only we had Rodri. Havertz might have been on the end of some of the 180 accurate long balls he played last season.

We don’t need Rodri, just coach Kai to run square of our  deep lying playmaker.

Yes, but only about 10 yards away Charierre.
