Kai Havertz

The problem with Kai is the same problem with ziyexh mount werner lukaku Odoi pulisic and all our attacking players which is the damn FORMATION.  They all being shoe horned into this formation because we won the Champions league with.

If I recall we stumbled on the formation after the sacking of lamps because our defense was leaky and needed some protection for Silva and Jorginhos lack of pace but now the same formation is leaking goals and offering absolutely nothing in attack.

The Sum of all our fears, now recognised in TTS stubbornness to recognise we are just winging it..

Are we forgetting that these same players struggled under Lampard too?

IDK Kai have had a rather good season last season, had double digit goals.  Mount did too.

But so far this season they've been terrible.

The whole team struggled under lampard. Even rudiger silva and christensen where trash.

Looks like a 4231 formation today but I might be wrong

One of the worst forwards in the entire league. I'll stand by that.

Can't finish, can't pass, can't dribble, can't control a football and is just completely useless in general.

On his strong foot, clear on goal, GK catches it like a pillow.

GET HIM OUT.

Day 750 or so of Kai being at Chelsea and I've seen nothing to suggest he's a generational talent.

He's a sh*thouse and does a few nice things.

But he's a significantly less talented Richarlison and I'm pretty confident he'll never start for a team that challenges for league titles in his career.

He's a squad player, but a £80m generational talent he isn't.

5 games, no goals. Free header and run on goal and the keeper had it easy.

That moment when we had a counter attack and it was Havertz running in with the ball from the right of the box, kind of sujms him up. I knew exactly what he'd do. Cut inside onto his left poorly and run into the defender. There's just no worry for oppositions when any of our attackers have the ball really.

Mount looked half decent first half and set up Sterling but bar that him and Havertz have been garabge all season so far.

Even if Broja had been for from the off, would have he been given a chance?

If Havertz is this "generational talent", it is clearly the least talented generation there ever was or ever will be. Which looking at most of the players in Blue out there tonight may well be true LOL.

Best position for Kai ? Probably back in Germany at another club

Once or twice a season he will have a sublime touch or score a sublime goal  but the reality is he's  just way out of his depth in the Premier League

Pretty much everyone went hiding after the first 20 minutes, not just Kai. But our goal doesn't happen without him.

Still think he can be of great help as a main man but that won‘t be unless the whole team works - which it clearly doesn‘t at the moment.
But not convinced he should be our #9 each and every game. Not yet and he‘d need to become tremendously more consistent to be considered like that.

Not trying to defend him here but he has averaged 1.4 shots per game in the first 5 games. To put things in perspective, Haaland averages 4.5 shots, Jesus 3.5 shots, Rashford 2.8 shots and Kane 4.1 shots. Last season was just moderately better as he was still averaging a low 1.9 shots per game. Wingers like Son & Martinelli average over 2.8 shots. Mount’s shot per game has dropped from 2.4 to 1.8 shots, and Sterling has dropped from a peak 2.7 shots per game to 2 shots per game. Now if you No 9 is getting under 2 shots per game away, he will need to be the most effective marksman in the game to hit double figures in the league. Even Salah who has had a poor start to the season is still hitting 2 shots per game.

Are we creating enough chances as a team?

That's a good question.   The obvious answer is no but is that not also down to the attackers themselves?

Look at Haalands 3rd goal against Palace, he gets that shot away because of his pace and his strength do you think any of our forwards could have got that shot away?

It's incredibly difficult to actually create chances of Havertz, Mount, Pulisic and Ziyech because none of them are very quick, none of them are very strong,  none of them are particularly good dribblers and only Havertz can compete in the air.

Look at Sterling, he's quick, he can dribble and has great movement so while he's missed a couple of chances as he always has he's getting and scoring a lot more chances than the rest of the team combined.  Even when he didn't score in the first 3 weeks of the season I think everyone could see a marked difference in his ability to make things happen compared to the rest of our frontline.

None of our forwards aside from Sterling can create their own chances and It's incredibly difficult to actually create chances for them because none of them have any kind of technical or physical attributes to get away from their defenders.
