Kai Havertz

Featured Replies

Football365 had an article months back saying about 8 years ago Felix, Havertz and another just can't remember were meant to be the new generational talents.

Neither have it, Felix although good in other ways seems to specialise in hitting the cross bar.

hope some club in germany want him and we could receive at least 60M for him

I've not experienced optimism like that since I wrote to Winona Ryder asking for a reach around.

I do have a degree of sympathy for him. Playing him as a centre forward is like asking Jim Davidson to entertain the the Women's Rural.

However even accepting him being picked as a square peg in a round hole his overall contribution over 90 minutes, week in week out,  is not remotely acceptable.

So Auba was on with 10 minutes to go to rescue an impossible 0:2, but not called upon on when we were leading and Leeds threw players forward. Pure mystery, same as why we went so negative with our subs.. Yes, Havertz is still the same🤥

What was the word from the match day forum - tekkers? Yeah, he doesn’t have much of it.

That Champions League goal seems a long long time ago now - unfortunately hasn’t really pushed on. Still don’t know his best position, but even by his admission he is not a striker.

The 'Firmino' role he was playing in that very triumph.

Even as someone who had high hopes for him I accept he's out of chances now but I'll maintain to this day for the want of a suitable option we should have kept his/our momentum going from that UCL win and saw where the false 9 system took us.

Momentum is a big thing, and worse case he doesn't cut it and eventually a suitable upgrade for his role would have fell into our lap, as it has twice now.

The generational talent talk make me laugh. If you said that about Felix, at least you could see why, he’s very exciting and different. Havertz isn’t even good at anything.

People say he’s being played out of position, what is his position? I’ve never seen him excel anywhere.

Haven't seen the Leeds game.. just saw some toxic reviews on Havertz football in the match thread...then I watched the 2 minute reply of the game. There was 3-4 attacking moves where Kai was integral. I agree he needs to score more than he has but this forum is just f**king dire sometimes.

You haven't watched the game so i'll summarise for you, he was complete dog sh*t.

I just don't know what Potter sees to continually play Kai, as well as him playing 90 minutes most game.

It is beyond frustrating.

As for his best position, he clearly needs to be an advanced attacking midfielder, in a 10 role as such. He is not an attacking winger / striker.

They both were identified as generational talents about the age of 17, there were three I think Mbappe was the third.

Neither Havertz or Felix are prolific yet do have technical skills and can link up with different players.

Could we do better, yes yet not before the summer.

The only hope for havertz is if we can play him as an attacking mid behind a striker.. but he is very profligate on front of goal.. maybe a confidence thing but he is very wasteful.

there was one moment in the game against Leeds where his natural instinct shone through and I thought maybe there is an elite player there.. a first angled ball over the top that had chilwell thru was majestic.. he needs more of this .. he has proved he is not a striker..

He is more of an ss than am. He hasn't showed any ability of a 10.

On paper 352 or 442 will suit him and I can see him excelling next to rom/tammy in a 2.

Hasn't that already been done? Bar a hattrick against Barnsley, when have we ever seen Havertz do well partnered with a ST/CF?

For every good thing he does (create a decent chance) he will ruin it by doing a bad thing (missing a chance/losing the ball). His value to the team is zero, and we have seen no development in 3 years.

I saw timo + rom maybe twice but I don't think I have seen kai+ rom.

We played Kai + Felix against Fulham, I thought Kai was quite good in that game.

Kai played with Tammy

Laughable that after 3 years that some people still think there is a talented player in there.

Kai has played everywhere across the front line across 3 different managers. Obviously not with consistency but he has been utter rubbish everywhere.

Play Eden Hazard at defensive midfield for a game and he would outshine Havertz best game in a Chelsea shirt with just one dribble from deep through the middle.

The biggest issue with Havertz is he's had 3 seasons to speed up his play, yet time and time again we see him getting caught in possession, or taking too long to play a pass or get a shot away. I just don't think he suits English football.

That's what it really boils down to.

He's tall, gangly with zero agility and center of gravity.

Just not made for this league. Doesn't help his case he made zero effort to strengthen his body since he's been here. Living off that CL final goal.

Who the hell are you to attack our opinions when all you watched was a 2 minute highlights video? Watch the full game then get back to us.

Incredibly annoying too when the argument is always, "oh Havertz created that one chance".

For every good Havertz does, he does something bad moments later which cancels the good. Hence my point he provides no value to the team.
