Just re watching the 3 cfc goals and two was mistakes by their keeper ,infact the 3rd was their keepers fault awswell  hence to say are we getting beyond our sens with own knicker wetting over this win > if their keeper was on top form and not made those 3 mistakes ,would we be sat watching extra time and pens ?

I feel the same way, but we created good chances that were let down by poor finishing and De Gea did make a few good saves too. In the end you can't argue we deserved the win and that it was a good performance even though the goals happened to come from their weaknesses.

Well, our keeper made fewer mistakes, so we can still celebrate in our wet knickers ::ChELSeAFaN::

Majestic.

Lampard broke them up to play Kante once, i hope he doesn't do it twice.

and if my aunt had bollocks.

We can only gauge and comment on what did happen.  Yes the keeper made some mistakes and a Maguire own goal, but they created nothing the whole game. In a game like that Giroud is always going to score or set someone up. A fit and raring Pulisic would have shredded these today.

The better team won today - no doubt. We were tired and had 2 days less rest than Chelsea, and the correct approach was to high press the hell out of United, which we're tactically susceptible to anyways. You had the ball in better areas and took more initiative. You also pushed your wingbacks so high up the pitch that Rashford had to keep dropping back in the whole first half, which took away the only threat we had going forward. Bruno was good but he had no one to pass out to. Lampard clearly watched how Southampton troubled us and the mistakes were repetitive. Credit to Reece James, Alonso and Azpi who had terrific games and snuffed out any chances we might create. Giroud's movement today was very good as well. Ole clearly had the right idea when he predicted and tried to match 3 at the back, but the moment Bailly went off we lost all shape and immediately conceded. Since then Lampard outclassed and outthought us, and you didn't even have to bring on Pulisic.

De Gea had 2 howlers - they're getting more frequent these days. He's won 4 POTY awards for us and has been our only consistently world class player since SAF left, but he's just fallen off a cliff since the World Cup debacle. We're at a very awkward place where a club legend is single handedly losing games for us. I have no idea how Ole will handle this - since DDG still has 3 years left on a mega contract. Henderson is clearly the better keeper on form, but how can you just dump a 29 yo keeper who still has world classes reflexes in some games?

I have to also acknowledge Jose and Lampard's comments on the refs favouring United worked all game. Chelsea committed 20+ fouls and got away without a single card. I understand a Chelsea forum might not agree, but that was foul by Zouma on Martial and should have been a penalty. Rudiger/Azpi/Kovacic in particular kept committing City-esque tactical fouls and got away with it, and United didn't have an answer for that. Perhaps it's karma for all the luck we had against Palace.

Just an overall bad day in office - our unbeaten run had to end at some point.

Even ManU struggle to get penalties outside the area. It was a foul though.

Iam still scared from the sheff utd and last 15 mins of Palace games when so much was on the line tbh .

It was a foul on Martial as Zouma kicked his leg first, bit it was outside the box and was proven on screen, so couldn't have been a pen. Other than that pretty much agree with all you've put. We still restricted possibly the best front line on current form in the country to nothing with a defensive line that have ben comical in recent matches.

I didn't think it was a penalty as Martial was not on the ball, more impeding Zouma though agree it was a moment that could have gone against us..

The two days is a fair argument though CFC have had it at times due to TV schedules.

Where I think the ref was against us, was Maguire on Giroud I thought Utd got the benefit of the ref, not on every occasion yet certainly a couple of times.

Nah, you should give Chelsea a bit more credit than that. Sure, De Gea f**ked up routine saves, but there weren't many saves that Caballero had to make either.

When Pogba came on in the second half, I expected things to turn in our favour the moment him and Bruno started linking up - but there wasn't much movement or space to pass to, and that's to Chelsea's credit. We were still defending way more than we were attacking, and your wingbacks just pegged the whole team back by 20 yards with their movement and possession. Ole didnt have a plan B once Bailly went off, and that's because Lampard's plan A was pretty effective. At the end of the day, we conceded 3 goals without even having to face Pulisic, and that's very frustrating Hopefully it's just one bad day and we come roaring back with a response against West Ham.

Class post, especially from a rival fan. I think Zoumas foul on Martial was just outside box but honsestly V.A.R might as well be called S.A.F  ( Sir alex Ferguson) if u didnt figure, because you guys have definitely gotten the rob of the green when it comes to the decision. I think Lampard deserves credit for playing 5 at the back because you guys have done that to us in the past 2 games and beaten us on the counter. Great feeling to beat you guys on your own game..

I honestly wish u lot a spot in the top 4 as long as its not at our expense..

If it was outside the box, yep - not a penalty. It was still a foul nonetheless, I feel.

Sp proud of all of the CFC boys tonight - such a difference to the feeling after Sheff Utd and even Norwich.

Everyone put in a great performance and I'll hold my hand up to getting it wrong when i said in first half that Kovacic should be the first player subbed! He was immence, but i do still wish he had a final ball in his game.

Yeah I expected Pogba to make more of an impact but he never did. Flatters to deceive a lot doesn’t he. Must be so frustrating for United players. The quality is clearly there but he doesn’t ever seem to be 100% in.

What’s up with De Gea? Reckon the club will try to flog him and bring Henderson in?

2 minutes ago, WhiteWall said:

I honestly think he has. I think this injury has seriously affected his pace and his confidence in his own legs and ankles. Watch him off the ball, his whole body language is to bob around and turn backwards. As we know the easy move for a forward is to turn back towards your own goal as the defenders won't press you generally. Everything he does is negative, rarely runs and has no desire or energy to engage with the opposition.  I know he is still young, but I thought we should have taken the Bayern money and I still think we should cash in if possible.

The only thing that concers me is the possibility of CHO becoming injury-prone.

For example, Jovetic (ex Man City striker) had a serious injury that affected the whole of his career at a similar age. He was one of Europe's top talents at the time, scoring important goals in Champions League. Some think he never really was at the same level since that injury, even though he was brilliant at times, he kept getting injured.

CHO is yet to adapt to the PL, his movement off the ball is a sign of unconfidence at the moment. That is partially due to high expectations and pressure that is put onto him, hopefully he will learn how to cope with that in the future. He is still very young and I believe there is a bright future ahead of him, because he showed many times that he is an exceptional talent which could develop into one of the best. Lampard certainly knows what to do...
