June 20, 20206 yr What a strike, impossible to save that. I'm guessing that Alonso can do it too so that type of quality in offense we already have...That is true. Chilwell showed nothing for me apart from that beauty of a shot. He was skinned by Sarr a couple of times which didn't look good. We need a player that can defend. Chilwell's positive side is his good ability to move and probably with high intensity throughout 90mins.
June 20, 20206 yr The game confirmed again that anything beyond 40 m would be insanity. Has very little to offer beyond Alonso, in fact Alonsos numbers going forward are probably much better. I want an annoying player on that side who bullies his opponents, and Chillwell is simply too bland for that. Also that smile blinds me.

June 20, 20206 yr Defensively, Chilwell worries me. Even if Chilwell is good going forward, that won't matter if he is poor defensively. It's one of the reasons why Alonso is in and out of the team so much. Alonso is a better attacking player than Chilwell, but that doesn't stop him being dropped now and again when he puts in a handful of poor defensive performances. We struggle defensively and we are looking at bringing in a player that has yet to produce a single outstanding defensive performance? Yeah, I can understand why a lot of people are worried about signing him.

June 22, 20206 yr Good player, but not worth a world record bid for a left back, just don't think he will improve us that much. Ashley Cole, yes, I just don't see the world class player in Chilwell.

June 22, 20206 yr Build a time machine and kidnap him?Now now this is getting silly. No need to kidnap him. Just go to the year he was last playing for Arsenal, show the current league table and a clip of David Luiz. He jumps in that Delorean...
June 23, 20206 yr Leicester plays like a bag of dicks. Chilwell as well. I hope we don't buy him and I hope they lose so we can win City and tie them with points.

June 24, 20206 yr I don’t see anything special in this guy to justify the price tag, pretty good going forward but frail at defending, we have a very attacking team with 2 great new talents incoming, we need defenders that can defend, this would be a tragic way to blow 70 million he is maybe a 20 percent improvement on Alonso. There are better options cheaper it really doesn’t appeal to me, the defence is so vulnerable and I’m afraid to say it’s in a large part down to frank. James and Azpi are both good fullbacks, we have 4 good CB’s, ok not world class but they are all good, our defence is far better than the performances they are putting in, we won a CL with GC and Luiz. I’m hoping Frank can bring someone like JT in to his staff because defensive coaching isn’t his strong point.
June 24, 20206 yr I don't see him being anything better than that old Tottenham right back who plays for City now. Can't even remember his name. Very quick and athletic but tactically simple.

Chelsea is having a difficult time with moving the ball inside the 18 yard box. Ziyech and Werner will help with their quickness and play making ability. Swapping Gilmour for Barkley will help. Havertz would be another great addition as Chelsea is getting very little production from its midfielders. I am not a Chilwell fan as he plays too high leaving too much room for opposition to get behind him. It would be better to use transfer money to add Havertz and a defensive minded LB. June 28, 20206 yr If we can't find any better than this guy, then we aren't looking hard enough. Emerson was better than him today and Emerson was pretty much non-existent.
June 28, 20206 yr Avoid him and Declan Rice like the plague. They'll cost a bomb with the English player tax.
June 28, 20206 yr He was sh*te today. Didn't have a clue what to do even though we were there for the taking towards the end. We should get Tierney from Arsenal. The guy is good and with our fitness department he'll be right as rain. Edited June 28, 20206 yr by Deino
June 28, 20206 yr From what I have seen on Twitter, Leicester fans would be happy to get rid, and Chelsea fans are desperate for the club to stay away 😬
June 28, 20206 yr Tierney looks quality whenever I've seen him play, really good going forward. I would pick him over Chilwell if I had a choice. Chilwell has been w**k whenever I've watched him, even when he scored that belter the other day, he was atrocious in that game but because he scored it overshadowed his performance. We already have a leftback who scores a lot of goals, Chilwell would be a poor signing imo and for the price Leicester are asking, no way. I'm really glad he played sh*t today, hopefully that puts off all those rumours.
