Welcome to Chelsea Ben Chilwell

I think we'd be better off going for someone like Ryan Bertrand and maybe pick up the youngster Aaron Hickey from Hearts. We could then have Bertrand as the starter whilst mentoring Hickey and Maatsen

I had a bad feeling when Barkley talked to Chilwell very friendly after the match. Okay they are familiar from England national team. He also talked with Rudiger during a corner and they were laughing... It felt like they already know something. Hope I am wrong.

Emerson matched Chilwell's performance. Alonso has more end product than him as well. Let's look elsewhere please.

Don't know if we should read too much into that - Mendy and Lacazette did exactly the same thing during Man City - Arsenal.

Yeah I know. Still it looked ominous..

I just don't see it. Certainly not for the fee quoted. We could probably sign Tagliafico for net zero if we move Emerson on. He's no perfect  and might be too short to be top class in the PL but would improve the squad and the fans would love him when he flies into tackles.

So hes too short and flies into tackles, sounds a great signing.

That statement pretty much describes Dennis Wise and he turned out alright!

He's not perfect but better than Chilwell. Doesn't fly in recklessly but is a bit old fashioned in the way he puts himself about. I think he's got a bit of Dave about him. Dependable, solid.

Really agree here. If Leicester want £60M for Chilwell, I'd definately look elsewhere. But maybe Lamps and the coaching and/or analytics-staff sees something that we can't.

It seems that there are several other potential players to go for in that position. To name a few - though it may not be given that all are on the market... José Gaya, Alex Grimaldo, Alex Telles and Nicolas Tagliafico.
- Furthermore, just by looking at Transfermarkt for young LBs, these guys seems to be interesting candidates:

Owen Wijndal, AZ Alkmaar (20)
24 Apps
1 Goal
7 Assists

Luca Pellegrini, Cagliari (Owned by Juventus) (21)
23 Apps
0 Goals
6 Assists

Rayan Aït Nouri, Angers SCO (19)
17 Apps
0 Goals
3 Assists

I know. All of the above are pretty much offensive stats, but still. There are so many players, that can - probably - be acquired for way less than Chilwell.

Personally if had to choose between all of the above, I'd go for Gaya. Got no idea if he's available or even want the transfer, but I've really liked him the few times I've been watching Valencia play over the last years.

Interesting that you mention Wijndal. He is a pretty handy player and did very well when Alkmaar played United in the EL. Looks to be the next long term Dutch left back. One to look at but I'd imagine he won't move until next summer.

If your budget is 60 mil for a left back you can buy pretty much whoever you want when you want

wouldn't pay more then 40m for him if they want 60 or 80 move elsewhere not worth it..

I’d rather get a 30 million lb and Declan rice for not much more than Chilwell would potentially cost, makes no sense as the prices quoted

Ben Chilwell may miss the start of next season due to the heel injury that has kept him out of Leicester’s last three matches.

Wait what? Get both for 50mill? Good work from Marina if true.

It would be a good deal, but Im just not sure if I rate Onana as high as some other people do... I would much rather go for Oblak and Tagliafico despite the crazy money
