Romano is saying Thiago Silva has signed for us. Announcement tonight?

If Chilwell’s announcement was done via a tube video I’m hoping we get the white cliffs of Dover for this guy (if he signs).

After Chilwell... today Thiago Silva has signed his contract with Chelsea, announcement expected soon. Havertz deal with Leverkusen has ben agreed too - as reported on Monday. It’s just a matter of time. Malang Sarr will sign until 2025 and he can be loaned out.

All done and dusted according to the twitter experts. Should be announced today (5pm) apparently. 

Carefree Youth (who I’ve always found quite reliable) has said just under 10 minutes ago that Silva has had his medical, signed the contract and should be unveiled this afternoon.

That is also a testimony of just how many good players they produce.

Think he will prove to be a valuable signing. Though on his own I dont think he can turn Zouma, Rudiger and Christensen in to decent defenders and certainly cannot make Kepa make saves.

He will need help of another at least competent CB and a keeper who does not have wrists of jelly.

On the contary i think all have the potential to work quite well next to Silva and (hopefully) a commanding keeper. All 3 have performed well under more favorable circumstances, infact just two months ago Rudi and AC both smashed it vs City because we played deep and on the counter.

I think thats unfair on Zouma, I think he was head and shoulders above the other 2 last season. He had a difficult start especially with the nightmare at Old Trafford but by the end of the season he was quite clearly the best CB we had. I think Zouma compliments Thiago incredibly well, he is blessed with pace and physicality whereas Thiago offers leadership and experience, in addition to that both speak French.

I have my concerns about pairing Thiago with Christensen as he seems to be a little soft and mentally fragile.

Zouma - OK? Rudiger - well, not under but with. But Christensen? He is beyond redemption. Just sell that joke of a player while we still can get some money.

I agree with this. Thiago alongside Zouma could be a lot like Thiago alongside Kimpembe  

Well this topic should be moved to the General section, all reports say he passed the medical and signed. The last time he ended the season without winning anything was over 10 years ago, it's like he discovered he's 5% blue so now he became 100% blue, it's just our DNA...

He will have to undergo a 14 day self isolation quarantine period when he arrives in London.

I agree, Zouma is on a diferent level than the others

I think Zouma, Christensen and Rudiger are all capable CBs they just need the right CB next to them. If we had VVD next to any of the three, the perception of all three would be completely different and people would throw an absolute fit if we sold one of them. I do think that Zouma is the best and strongest of the three, but Christensen - in my opinion - is the best on the ball but definitely needs that strong and vocal leader next to him to keep him 100% focused. His lack of focus scares the bejesus out of me, if I'm being honest.

With Rudi, I can't really put my finger on it with him. But, nonetheless, Silva is going to be very beneficial to their growth overall. The unfortunate part for me is that leadership isn't learned, it is one of those things that you typically have or don't have.
