February 8, 20215 yr Easiest question ever - Hazard Non Chelsea: Ronaldinho but Messi is the GOAT. My two picks are the only 2 players in football history that I enjoy watching on the ball every time they have it. Edited February 8, 20215 yr by KonaKai Blue
February 9, 20215 yr Hazard for sure. I also would put Mata in our top list, for the two seasons that he was here, he was phenomenal. It's hard to believe that's the same player at United. He was our very own David Silva at the time and quite frankly, I would argue at the time he was even better than him in a lot of ways. But Joe Cole on his day was also something else.

February 9, 20215 yr not a traditional no 10, but played in the number 10 shirt at Chelsea - David Speedie Micky Fillery/ Micky Hazard or am I just getting old and sentimental and can't let go of the 1980's Chelsea? Outside Chelsea- Maradonna, followed by Hoddle (only in an England shirt though)
February 9, 20215 yr Probably Hazard for me, also a mention in dispatches for Mark Hughes, loved his style and passion. Outside of Chels, Kaka or Totti.
February 9, 20215 yr Controversial opinion maybe but Juan Mata at peak was a better and more inpactful player for Chelsea than Hazard but Hazard's longevity and level of performance over 7 years made him a better player overal for us. But that 2012/13 that Mata played for us, he was unplayble, 19 goals and 35 assists over 64 games that season. I was gutted we let him go.

Over the length of his time here, Hazard's impact was undeniably greater, but people do forget how good Mata was in Hazard's first couple of seasons, winning PotY twice. His career fizzled out quickly after JM's return, as he couldn't play the role JM wanted him to and he put his faith in Oscar. I don't think he's ever come close to reproducing his Chelsea form at Manure, but Chelsea fans will always have a very high opinion of him. He comes across as a top bloke as well, and I bet he feels more of a Chelsea boy than a Manc.

It's been largely forgotten about around the world, but it would be hard to find a midfielder that ever played as well as he did that season. I think this was the season that the "Torres doesn't get the service" excuse was put to bed. If you can't get goals from a guy that can assist 35 goals in a single season, then there is something wrong with you rather than the players around you.

He was often playing with Ramires, Oscar, Mikel and Lampard so his defensive duties were lighter. Also let's not forget that was under Benitez. Edited February 10, 20215 yr by strider6004
February 10, 20215 yr Hazard, by a mile, or his cheeky smirk, on his day comparable to Messi, without the Goal hauls, simply umplayable, Arsenal slalom run anyone! Mata, JoeyCole And Speedie, cos he turned up to at Coventry, and i got to meet him losds, through my dad and associates
February 10, 20215 yr Hazard for me. Mata is a good shout. Honourable mention to David Speedie, No 10 for most of that season.? Looking back to my first season as a Chelsea fan in1974/75. It was often Bill Garner and Ian Hutchinson who played No 10 for us that season. Edited February 10, 20215 yr by erskblue
February 11, 20215 yr Has to Be Eider Gudjohnsen for me, lovely player Elsewhere, if I wasn't still so Bitter, Maradona is the best player ive ever seen, Platini, Totti and Roberto Baggio were all great players

February 11, 20215 yr David Speedie. Not much bigger than one of Snow White's dwarfs but could challenge Drogba in the air. Could also start a fight in a phone box.
February 11, 20215 yr I liked Eidur Gudjohnsen too, another not often mentioned was Gavin Peacock. Only had two productive seasons yet great in getting on the end of the through ball and placing it beyond the keeper. In one uneventful season he lifted the crowd by getting the winners against Fergies Utd home and away. Actually remembering his clever finishes reminds me of those video highlights of Kai Haverzt, let's hope he can deliver too.
