December 26, 20205 yr I really hope we stuff this lot, I just want a nice convincing win rather than us making it hardwork at times. Edited December 26, 20205 yr by Malcolm9
December 26, 20205 yr Tough couple of games coming up with Arsenal and Villa. I know on paper both teams should be easy wins but they’re not. Arsenal - For all their poor form, no-one has rolled them over easily. Villa - had some big results this season. I don’t expect us to get 6 points unfortunately as we’re not exactly playing well ourselves.

December 26, 20205 yr Arsenal vs Chelsea is always a strange game. It can either be a domination for Chelsea, a tight game, or end up with arsenal getting the better of us. Never know which way it will go. Arsenal may be playing poorly right now, but I'm always wary of playing them. Results have always been up and down in recent years.
December 26, 20205 yr Slightly nervous about this game, Arsenal will be up for this game especially with 2 ex Chelsea players in their team. Also Chilwell, James & Ziyech missing is bad news. I’ve noticed the the media have jumped on the narrative that Chelsea have the best squad in the league - it’s not meant as a compliment IMO it’s a narrative setting us up to fail if we don’t get 3 points in certain matches. Not sure how we’ve suddenly got a better squad than Man City or Man Utd and are now expected to run City and Liverpool close for the title this season. I suppose Klopp was the first person to come out with that statement so it must be true then.... Edited December 26, 20205 yr by 2211
December 26, 20205 yr Match day,a London derby on boxing Day,with no crowd, just not the same,oh well.....COME ON YOU BLUES !
December 26, 20205 yr Most anxious I've felt all season. Just want us to get the three points and move on. COME ON BOYS!

Don't understand why I'm so much more nervous than the last few games against Arse. Maybe because I'm still mad about that cup final last season and the brilliant refereeing decisions.
December 26, 20205 yr I'm very concerned about today - no James, no Chilwell, no Ziyech, Werner unable to hit a cow's backside with a banjo, Havertz hasn't settled in, Pulisic still getting back to match fitness... if Arsenal turn up (which they failed to do for the most part this season) we'll be in trouble. Nothing like a bit of positivity with the cold turkey. ?
December 26, 20205 yr To be honest I see us starting extremely slowly as if we are hung over after Christmas day,and go 1-0 down, what happens afterwards is down to players and Frank with substitutions.
December 26, 20205 yr This is always an unpredictable one. Yes we are favorites but it could really go either way. Hopefully Arsenal won't play their best game of the season today...
December 26, 20205 yr Feels like a game that could define our season this one. A win and we will go second and a loss we could see ourselves down in 8th or 9th before the round is over. So please, please win!
December 26, 20205 yr Pre-match rituals complete, beer in fridge and food ready to be ordered. I feel slightly less nervous now.
December 26, 20205 yr When did we last win on Boxing Day? We’re overdue it feels like. I know as its one of the few times I see Chelsea when back visiting in the UK and pretty sure I’m to blame. Recall a 1-0 win over Swansea in 2013 (I think) 2019 Saints Loss 0-2 2018 Leicester loss 0-1 2015 or 2016 Watford 2-2 We’re overdue. Come on Chelsea!!!
December 26, 20205 yr GAMEDAY!! COME ON CHELS!! Good draw in Manchester vs Leicester game. 3 points and we're coming back to chase the 2nd spot.
December 26, 20205 yr Without Aubameyang they are no better then a mid table team, most likely they will play 3 at the back and defend for there lives. I think it's the sort of game where the first goal will be decisive.
December 26, 20205 yr They are trying to get Auba and Martinelli fit for this game. There attack is gar weaker without them. We should win, but boxing day is a wierd gameday for us.

Mendy Rudiger Zouma Silva Azpi Kante Kovacic Mount Pulisic Abraham Werner Pulisic as a number 2 off 2 strikers as our full backs will stay back more. Why Rudiger at right back? If we move Azpi to the left then the next RB in the pecking order should play, which is Livramento.

Come on Chelsea!!! 2018 we beat Watford on boxing Day (Leicester was a week or so before). Apart from last year and 2015 we've won every game on boxing Day since 2012.

Toni has played there in his his Roma and Stuttgart days. Mainly I would play him so we have him, Zouma and Silva to attack set pieces.
