BREAKING NEWS

Willian Jose is eligible to make his Wolves debut tonight against Chelsea and has travelled with the squad to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian’s work permit was approved yesterday, his international clearance came through on Tuesday, he flew into the country last night and his COVID tests came back negative.

Wolves are hoping the striker can help the club overturn that’s seen them win just once in nine PL games since Raul Jimenez’s injury at Arsenal in November.

With a name like that you imagine he is nailed on to score.

Subs: Kepa, Alonso, A

My initial reaction to the rumours was one of umbrage - why on earth would you play two up front against a back three?? Then of course I remembered that Wolves haven't been doing that for a while...

If Kanté and Mount are out, it seems like a midfield of Jorginho and Kova?i? is pretty much nailed-on (although of course I'll be hoping for Gilmour). Just goes to show the extent to which our centre mid options are lacking...

If Werner and Havertz are both starting (with Pulisic and Mount apparently out and Hudson-Odoi deployed elsewhere), I suppose the choice is between Ziyech and Abraham. My choice would be for the latter - benefits Werner more and Ziyech doesn't make a huge amount of sense in that setup.

Chilwell and Silva are presumably nailed on. RCB will be interesting, we have a number of viable options there (Azpilicueta, James and Zouma).

And then there's the goalkeeper... at least this will be interesting!

Listen, sonny, assistants can make as many suggestions as they like.  We are going traditional, 2-3-5, proper wingers, inside forwards, a big lump of a centre-forward, and animal at centre-half and some nasty bastards at left and right back.

Very good point ? We should make an inventory of all the letters from all our players since Ranieri and compare the least used letters with our managers. Who has time for this, you @Munkworth? Or @loz, any moment now that he's chucking in this cycling thing.

Haha @Munkworth  was probably on wiki and google looking this up yesterday morning. Always one step ahead

I’m not exactly sure when the initials on the tracksuit became a thing but from my time;

Bobby Campbell Ian Porterfield David Webb Glenn Hoodle Ruud Gullit Gianluca Vialli Claudio Ranieiri Jose Mourinho Avram Grant Luis Felipe Scolari Guus Hiddink Ray Wilkins (100% record) Carlo Ancelotti Andre Villas-Boas Roberto DMatteo Rafa Benitez Jose Mourinho Guus Hiddink Antonio Conte Maurizo Sarri Frank Lampard

A-4 B-3 C-4 D-2 F-2 G-6 H-3 I-1 J-2 L-2 M-4 P-1 R-3 S-2 V-2 W-2

So yes, there are plenty of Ts available but we must be running low on Gs by now, no wonder Guus, Gullit, Gianluca or Grant weren’t considered for a comeback!

You’re welcome.

Think you meant to say James and Chilwell?

lol. Yes my mistake. Not that it matters now as it seems as though he went with 4 at the back anyway.
