October 23, 20214 yr Our stupid german commentator here in Sky Germany is celebrating the yellow card for a Norwich player. "Finally they show some fighting spirit!" Somehow i want to kick those pundits against their leg as well when they say such a b*s*it
October 23, 20214 yr Just now, Scott Harris said: Total domination so far. The only one not really in the game is Havertz. He doesn't seem to be playing like a false 9, more like an out and out striker. Wait I thought Havertz is the main reason why we have been playing well.

Say what you want about his output but, the boy's movement is brilliant It's the same with Firmino at Liverpool. Salah and Mane get the plaudits but when they don't have the Brazilian or he's off form Liverpool are a pale shadow of their best self. Case in point the super cup in 2019, we dealt with Liverpool with absolute ease in the first half, Firmino comes on at half time and all of a sudden we can't cope with their attack. It still hasn't clicked with many just what a advantage false 9 gives a team in the present day. Edited October 23, 20214 yr by Argo
October 23, 20214 yr Some people can’t just sit back and enjoy a dominant Chelsea performance in which we are leading 3-0 at half time with 3 really good goals by academy players without having a snipe at some of the players who they do not favour. Lighten up FFS and enjoy.

Pissing money away on ludicrously expensive forwards is basically as Chelsea as it gets in the last 20 years. That was great fun. Norwich look appalling though, their midfield press is so, so easy to pass through, and then we have a free run at their defence. There's nothing wrong with your midfield pressing high, but your forwards have to participate and your defence have to push up behind them or you will inevitably leave huge gaps which any half-decent side will exploit with ease. They appear to be trying to play a mixture of two different approaches and ultimately getting the worst of both worlds. Makes me worry about how this haphazard strategy will affect Gilmour's development... Nonetheless, it's been really gratifying to see Hudson-Odoi having a ball down the left. This is a great opportunity for him (although I suppose no more difficult to the opposition in the chances he usually gets in the cups) to attack with abandon. He really looks to be enjoying himself (in front of Southgate too). Predictably (considering the above), Mount and Kovačić in particular have looked really good too. Hope to see a really enjoyable second half. This is a great opportunity to build confidence, goal difference, and let the crowd enjoy our youngsters taking a team to pieces.

Some people here think we should build this team to get best out Havertz first 🤣🤣. No offense to Havertz who i rate very highly, but right now he is not good enough to be built around.

I think we sent him there because we expected the Norwich of two years ago (who despite finishing bottom had a style, were competive most weeks and even pulled off some scalps like City at home and Everton away, we only just beat them on both occasions aswell). That Norwich would have been perfect for Gilmour's development so I can understand the idea of sending him there.
October 23, 20214 yr Three goals all from academy products, together with Chalobah, they all are within the squad on merit. We now have an identity as a team. Well done to the staff at Cobham.

October 23, 20214 yr I've changed my stance on Gilmour staying at Norwich. Need to take him out of there.

October 23, 20214 yr Tuchel is pretty short tempered today for a manager who's team is winning 3 - nil
