Can we get this bloody Christmas nonsense out the way so we can get back to the important things in life; football!

You may as well stop this snowing nonsense altogether with Christmas so we can get back to the spring winning streak

Especially when Christmas is in a weekend and most people don't get one or days off totally free :angry2:

Although I must say, claiming Boxing Day all for myself to watch football ("I have one hobby, leave me to it!" although that's a fib) is quite enjoyable.

Is anyone travelling through or from Swindon? Mates have dropped out but still have a ticket and thinking about going if could travel with a few?

That would include beating Pool, who will still have Salah and Mane, at home.

And we have Mendy who's never conceded against them from open play.

So, assuming that Havertz and Werner remain sidelined, this is what I would like to see.

                            Mendy

                 Azpi     Silva    Toni

       James    Jorgi   Kante   Alonso

                       Ziyech    Mount

                             Lukaku

The problem for us might be the fact they have lots of players who are capable of scoring. Ings, Watkins, McGinn, Bailey, El-Ghazi etc. Even the two full backs got on the scoresheet recently. Not to mention Konsa and Mings are both aerial threats who can cause trouble on set pieces. Therefore, we will have to show maximum levels of concentration when defending those. But Tuchel is surely very well-aware of that and I believe our defenders will do what's expected of them. What I'm scared about is conceding a worldie a la Tielemans in the cup final where there isn't much you can do, because as I said earlier, their goals are coming from all areas of the pitch.

This is true, we also had Mendy against United, Burnley and Everton and that did not stop us conceding to those teams who did nothing offensively bar score their one goal each.

Can find nothing about Villas covid absentees other than Gerrard himself. Only that Bailey, Nakamba  and our former blue Traore are all injured and expected missing.

Seems like a fee want Dave to stay in the back 3. I find that surprising, especially against a side with pace and aerial threat I woild expect more to want Trev with Silva and Toni.

I don't think they can hurt us on the counter. And Azpi is far from slow. Everything just feels more secure when he's playing.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas day with family and friends - Need 3 points today.  I hate the fact that Arsenal are only 6 points behind and playing Norwich today.  Our attack has been about as good as the England batting and bowling in Australia that I am watching this morning, toothless, runless and in our case goaless.  We need to start scoring again instead of pissing around playing sideways, backwards in and around the 18yard box; we have to be more direct than we have been just to keep pace with the top 2 and put some distance between us and the chasing pack.  Spurs will have 10 games in hand at the COVID rate cancelling their games and helping them spend more time on the training ground with Conte.

Hello all,

we are from Germany and had planned to attend the game on the 29th against Brighton. Unfortunately we can't travel to England due to Covid, but we are in possession of 3 "Canoville Suite" hospitality-tickets (East Stand Canoville; Row L, M; Seat 158, 158, 159). We would very much like to give these tickets to someone for Christmas and thereby make a contact for future London visits. So the tickets will only cost a few glasses of beer in a pub!
First come, First serve; DMs please!

Greetings from germany,

Lukas

Come on Chelsea. One game at a time, but time to start putting some points on the board in coming weeks. Enough messing - we have the midfield engine back and a striker. Win this one.
