Chelsea v Brighton (PL) Wed 29th Dec 2021 19:30 GMT

Featured Replies

Title race was over a while ago but this cements it, especially with City walking on water, no injuries and teams rolling over for them.

Arsenal & Tottenham are smashing it atm and will be huge threats for our top 4 hopes.

Really felt we were going to see it out. But can't say it was robbery. Brighton probably deserved something on the balance of play. Decent side with a couple of players who are very good. Always work hard when I watch them.

I bet Klopp can't wait for Sunday.

So fair this. So far playing against a well rested side that's played twice since December 5th while we have literally had to play every three days every week in December.
Putting our players at risk while teams like Brighton got the privilege of a nice winter vacation. It's bullsh*t.

No wonder we were outplayed. No wonder at all. Jorginho and Kovacic were out on their feet since minute 30, Christensen & James got fresh injuries that will keep them out in addition to Silva and Chilwell.

Expect Tuchel to blow up in post match interviews. And my word would be be right to do so.

it's unfair that other teams have under 20 games, surely that's an advantage

Poor tonight, not good enough in possession or out of it

Our air of invincibility has gone, teams can get at us, the formation has been sussed

Injuries aren’t helping , the number of games had caught us up,

Midfield in particular was very poor, Kovacic and Jorgi provided no cover for defence

Lukaku was very good, we needed to feed off him better

CHO some poor decision making tonight

Ultimately we lost two points ,reality is we got what we deserved as did Brighton who had the best player on the pitch…Bissouma

Not sure what the game plan was there. Hoof it to Lukaku and hope? Because that's all I saw. Players looking exhausted from minute one and were dominated for most of the game.

Especially worrying, is that after over a year in charge now, we still don't look even remotely like we know what we're doing going forward. All these attackers - Lukaku, Werner, Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, and none of them inspire any real confidence in me that they are going to do anything.

CHO should have put the game to bed on the break.  He's just not good enough, let's stop kidding ourselves.

I think the injuries/Covid have caught up with us in the last few weeks, starting with Chilwell blow. Unless something like that happens to City, I can't see us getting back into a title race.

Oh well, it is what it is.

Man City are just too consistent and various things went against us in winter, contract situations, injuries and players form. Tuchel will have to come up with situations but he wil find it.

Yep, titles going to be hard and top four won't be that much of an issue with the crap behind us so games are feeling like semi dead rubbers right now.

I said it would be a draw. We deserved that, not good enough as usual, terrible in the final third and Pulisic continues to be dogsh*t.

Brighton were really switched on and caused us problems all over the pitch.

Hudson-Odoi was “dogsh*t”, at least Pulisic put in a shift.

Utter disappointment. Not sure how we expect to beat Liverpool in few days by being totally dominated by middle table team at home. Next games are real "easy": Liverpool, Man City, Tottenham 3 games in a row.

It would be "typical Chelsea" for us to find a way to win all three of those ...

Odoi should be ducked wages for messing up that 2 on 1 (Hyperbole) . He lacks football Intelligence.

Damn i nearly got an aneurysm from that. You have to take those chances and he got scared to square it when the shot was 100% on.

Tuchel seems to have decided he will live by the sword.. it’s been clear for two moths that this formation isn’t working .. there is a reason only one manager has won the league with 3 at the back..

we continue to insist on playing players like alonso who do nothing on either end of the pitch. Let a physically weak midfield of kova and jorgi together and play our attackers out of position .. when your two of your 5 attacking players are alonso and Dave and then you have jorgi having a poor game then good luck.

I think we are lucky to have a point if i am honest .. just simply poor.

Did you watch them against Leicester?

I didn't even lean forward in my chair, because I knew he'd do something stupid and mess it up. He's got the footballing intelligence of a wet napkin.

It's always been that way though Sindre!! We can't use that as an excuse!!

So frustrating, I love CHO and RLC they are Chelsea through and through, but they are both a mess in the final third, their decision making and end product are atrocious, simply put utter dross.

2 vs 1, CHO only needs to make a simple pass or score and we kill the game off, it is two nil and maybe the third would have come, who knows, but that had to be two nil. You simply have to score or make the simplest of passes there. I know he put a great cross at Villa Park the other day, but generally his general play in the final third is very poor, very very poor and a frustrating player to watch.

Disappointing really...

I thought we got away with that one but as frustrating as it is, a point was a fair result. It’s  getting very frustrating all of these 1-1 draws at home.

We hd no control in the game. Mounts goal should have stood, I don’t see what was wrong with that one.

Ten minutes off my life for just one point?! Worth 5 mins at most

Realistically, we haven't been a strong title contender from the start, we were only given hope after a few weeks at the top of the league.

What's always been what way just? Us playing more games than most or injuries or what?
