Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea

Featured Replies

The only extremely small crumb of comfort is Jackson in pre season looked a lot better as the main man compared to being second fiddle to the attack centred around Christo.

But that's all, huge blow in every other sense, felt we finally had an attacking gamechanger for the first time since Hazard. I feel looking at Felix for another loan at this point won't be a bad shout and this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly rate him, he can basically be a placeholder until Nkunku is fit again as opposed to panic buying a number 9 who will get in Jackson's way.

Yes let’s get Felix on another 10m loan covering all his wages just for him to create the least amount of chances in the squad per 90 out of all our attackers. Failing to do some basic rudimentary football fundamentals in the meantime.

In a market where Kai Havertz is wanted by both Real Madrid and Arsenal, it’s quite telling no one has ever considered Felix when he is desperate to leave Atletico.

Stupid preseason games on diabolical pitches don't help

Former more than the latter. The pitch was sh*t but he was brought down by an ugly challenge in the box.

It was his left knee that gave in. The injury had already occured by the time Hummels hit him so nothing to do with him.

Quite easy to see here. 100% on the pitch.

Its nothing to do with the pitch, its the collision between Hummells knee going "through" the back of Nkunkus knee that caused this. Why are people blaming playing the game, what do you want us to do, just train and have no pre season matches in case of injuries. Its an accident, its unlucky and sh*t but theres sod all that could have been done and apportioning blame is ridiculous.

It’s a poor excuse. I saw the incident live and Hummels ran through the back of his knee quite vigorously. Astonished it wasn’t a pen but the ref was sh*t (failed to send off James boot stomp too).

Some other poundland version of Christo then. I don't feel it's a good idea to totally alter the system to do a 180 again once he returns.

Really takes the shine off a good preseason.

We have a lot of work to do before 1st September. Pochettino reportedly wanted 4 players, and that was before Nkunku's injury.

Caicedo, Adams, Olise, a striker?, and now possibly another attacking midfielder unless we stick with Gallagher and Chukwuemeka.

It's going to be January before Nkunku is realistically back at it, personally I'm hoping we get in Cherki aswell as Olise now, or do we look at a loan option like Felix again?

So unlucky with injuries these days. 2 knee surgery before weve even kicked a ball.

Nkunku was LF more so than CAM towards the latter end of preseason.

Getting Caicedo is now the utmost importance for balance issues. Gallagher + Carney at CAM and Olise at RW/CAM and I reckon we will manage.

Thank you! I don’t understand what a section of the fans see in him. He is available for sale by Atletico, & no European club is interested. Saudi Arabia is the only option on the table, but somehow some fans want us to sign. He is overrated, would cost a ridiculous amount of money  even on loan, and on ridiculous wages. We are so desperate & you just know he will end here.

We paid £10m + £6m in wages for a half season loan for anyone that needs a reminder.

I think we'll go for Toney in Jan. We can't catch a f**king break with these injuries man. Who next?! This is pretty much f**ked us last season for the most part.
