Agreed that i think he will be moved on at some point, but we're going to get burned badly, undoubtedly Yeah I don't believe it either. If however there is any truth to it I don't see him being easy to shift. He will have, what I think 4 years left, on his deal this summer and reported wages of 320k? Fee wise we can expect to get most of it back given his age, but his wages present a huge issue. Realistically we are stuck with him, as we are Koulibaly, Cucurella and Aubameyang. Thought at least the last one we can let go on a free in the summer of 2024 I think.
January 16, 20233 yr With the amount of young players coming in we need some form of experience accompanying them.

January 27, 20233 yr I'll probably be in the minority but I'm happy to give him more time, he can be frustrating but his key strength is his finishing and his ability to be in the right place at the right time. Because we have had no players this season that are good at creating he's not been able to show that, but now we have Mudryk, Felix and Madueke available to create I'm hoping the best is yet to come from him
January 27, 20233 yr Once we have Mudryk and Felix starting I think Sterling could be very useful down the middle.

Look at the difference that's made up the road. Unless/until he gets to the point Auba and Kouli are at we shouldn't even think about letting him go.
March 7, 20233 yr Been our best attacker this season, underrated signing. Surprised he isn't appreciated more

I have no idea why given how overated most English players are but Sterling has never got the credit his outstanding career has deserved. Should be starting every week imo.
March 8, 20233 yr I don’t see it personally, I thought he had a really poor game for his standards. From what I’ve seen at City I expect a lot more, and he should be a leader considering his stature now. Surely there is so much more to come from him.

He's capable of being brilliant but in the same game he can frustrate the life out of you. His goal is the most Sterling goal you will ever see. Miss hits a shot, bounces a ball off a defender and then catches it perfectly to smash it past the keeper. Throughout his whole career I have been pointing out how sh*t he can look at times and he still ends up with a goal to his name. Watching him with England has been a rollercoaster. He misses sitters, has a bad touch, runs into defenders, then he will pick up the ball a score a curler or time his run to perfection and score a tap in from a low cross. This is just how he is as a footballer, I don't think he will ever be anything different from here.
March 8, 20233 yr Author Scored a vital goal and worked hard, so I give him credit for that. His technique is just not up to standard imo though.

March 8, 20233 yr As an attacking player all you need is confidence and you can see that he's missing that. He worked very hard yesterday and he deserved to score that goal, he always was a danger to Dortmund's defence. He needs more of this and I believe that he will deliver his quality. He's our best attacker in the team, most experienced (there was a reason that Pep gave him the captain few times).
March 8, 20233 yr I didn't think he looked that great last night, but he was still pretty effective. He needs to know when to stay onside as that was frustrating as if he could have stayed onside a couple times we may have got another goal.

Without playing well I think he showed his value simply through the instrinic qualities / behaviours he has - the desire to make runs behind the defence, and the instinct to get into good goalscoring positions. We don't really have many of those players. Hopefully he stays fit and his confidence and sharpness should improve as a consequence. Edited March 8, 20233 yr by g3.7
March 8, 20233 yr He is our best goal scorer just now neither Havertz nor Felix score simple goals. Sterling is the more natural goal scorer even though not clinical.
