So i am reading now that Inter may need to let Casadei go without a buy back clause, so we may be able to get him after all. The additonal interesting point is that Inter still need to raise funds but are keen on not losigng Skriniar or Dumfiries. Which has made we wonder why we haven't shown more interest in Bastoni. I know he was linked to spurs earlier but that dried up. I am surprised that we haven't had a nibble as it is an area we have been all over all summer. 

Clearly Fofana is the marquee signing but there must be a point where we look at that and compare to someone like Bastoni. Don't get me wrong i would be totally stoked if we got Fofana, but if we could get Bastoni we could probably get another midfielder for a combined total cost of what we will have to pay Leicester.

Cesare Casadei is set to join #Chelsea from Inter Milan in a deal worth €15m plus €5m in add-ons. His medical will be this week.

It may have been Nizzar or Steinberg that stated both Casadei and Chukwuemeka are the long term replacements of Jorginho and Kante. 

Think the Declan Rice rumors will die down now.

So if we get Butch Casadei, are we targeting Anthony Gordon as the Sundance kid?

When people say they want us to sign the expensive world class players earlier they mean they want the expensive world class players to cost £2.50

Not that they actually want to see the club take on and develop prospects.

Butch Casadei and the Scousedance kid

Hope he is good. Big money again for a prospect.

Assuming he will feature in the cup games. 

Hopefully he turns out to be a top player, I wonder why Inter agreed to sell him and have not been using him though?

Not a chance & very unrealistic if you ask me. Chalobah for example who you would have expected to have kicked on hasn’t spent a min on the pitch, Azpi has been preferred ahead of him. With Casadei & Chuks I don’t see either of them seeing pitch time ahead of Kovacic, Jorginho & Kante. Against Leeds I reckon it will be RLC & Jorginho, with Gallagher coming off the bench. Long term even with the 5 subs rule; a manager will have 3 trusted players off the bench, a FW, a Md & a Defender. The last 2 even if he makes those subs will be a 80mins+ sub to run down the time. I expect long term the 3 will be Havertz/Pulisic if we get another CF, one of Kante, Jorginho, or Kovacic depending on who starts, and one of Cucurella or Chiwell depending on who gets the nod. Everyone else including the £50m Gordon will be fighting for scraps.

They will need to play though & start regularly just not Cup games. The midfield 2 won’t help either of them. And let’s be honest I don’t see the manager pulling a Klopp who started Elliott ahead of the £50m Keita against Palace. 

Never even played a minute for the Inter first team in a competitive fixture, but was in the Guardian "Next Generation 60 of the best young talents in world football" list in 2020.

Think you misinterpreted my post. They aren't coming straight in replacing Kante or Jorginho. They are the future. Long term replacements. They'll be slowly transitioned in by reports. 

If this stops us from paying over a 100m for Declan Rice, I am all for it.
