Why are we giving Inter any money? Have we just sent Lukaku there to lose some weight or something, hopefully Casadei ends up a superstar

We're giving them money so they can give us the money back to loan Lukaku for another season. We'll never recoup the first 100m after that horror year, but at least we'll keep the costs at 0 for the near future until someone decides to actually spend something to buy the lump.

I am actually really pleased about this strategy. We are developing an underbelly of bright young kids that could form the cornerstone of a long term programme to bring them all through together.

A Class of '22 type of thing maybe

It’s a good idea, but it’s difficult to know if these young players will fulfil their potential.  We were excited by a future team including Tammy, Guehi, CHO,  Musiala, and Livramento.  In the end these young players end up giving up waiting and move on or just aren’t good enough.  We’ll probably end up blocking their path in to the first team by buying established players for their positions anyway.  Heres hoping we improve integrating these young players.

Yes, i think the issue is really with the management, or more specifically the management of the management process. If the team management is on a two year production line they don't have time or patience to develop youngsters. They need to deliver and win, ironically not for the purpose of sustainability but actually to bolster their CVs for when teh inevitable bullet comes along.

So if this is the first part of an overall plan with the longer objective being to work with TT over a sustained period so that he and his backroom team nuture this group and bring them all through to create a team fullof outsanding youngsters, then game on, I'm up for that big time.

If on the other hand we are just stockpiling kids becuase we have run out of decent ones and we will now feed these back into the market at some point to make a profit down the line, then great for the club but, meh so what as far as the fans are concerned.

I hope its the former.

Hopefully the new owners giving a long term contract to Tuchel will give him more confidence and security to look at the long term future, rather than fearful of the inevitable sacking around the corner that was the Roman blue print.

My guess is on loan for a year, Carney already had a season in the EPL and couldn't get into the team, doubt Casadei has a chance this season.

You say he couldn't get in the team like it's March. We've played two games

YouTube makes him look pretty good. Strong, great in the air, freekick specialist and determined to go forward.

Certainly a lot of money for someone who it seems has never played in front of an audience. Hopefully it turns out a masterstroke

I hope I'm wrong. But I can only see this guy floating on the edges and getting nowhere near the first team.

Sorry, but I'm not sure how you can work that out. The club clearly is sweeping up young talent in UK, USA and now Italy, I think this is a move directed by Todd, who is probably and rightly concerned by the lack of potential in the pipeline from the Academy. All of the players signed have some First team experience and are highly rated. I would think that they have a much better chance of success than some of the Academy players we are letting go.

We've signed promising 19 year olds before. They never work out. That's literally all I'm basing it on.

Also does this guy have any first team experience?

Look it's the right play, we should be signing players like this. I'm just a pessimist.

It's true I mean there is no guarantee that this kid will stand out once he comes here. The highlights on youtube are nice but that also doesn't mean much.

The positives are that he looks he has the right physique but to be honest that alone isn't enough.
