As above said by Frankie we have offered Alonso and cash for Auba. Sensible to make sure they take Alonso as part of the deal, though should be a straight swap imo.

Meanwhile the article I have posted also mentions how Barca have told La Liga they will soon be letting go one player with high wages (Auba) and one with Medium wages (Depay) to help their situation, so likely no need to sell De Jong.

More than fair offer - basically throwing in Alonso for free as Aubameyang shouldn't be over £15m by anyone's evaluation.

La Liga has told Barcelona that they will not accept new levers, so Barcelona really needs to sell and/or reduce wages if they want to register Kounde and keep getting new players, as Xavi wants. So, if Tuchel really wants this player, we are in a strong position to force Barsa to sell in the cheap.

Is there anybody who does not believe this transfer will go through ?

I know it all points to Tuchel wanting Auba, but I’d think that getting De Jong would be much more important for the team and the future rebuilding. And we can try to force Barca’s hand this season.

Makes absolutely no sense why we are trying to bail barca out.

We can‘t force Frenkie though - and even if we could (we can‘t) I‘m not sure it‘s a good idea to pressure someone into joining us.

You’re right in that, but at some point it was said that De Jong did not see with bad eyes joining us, though his preferred option was staying at Barsa (más que un club es un puticlub ) 

Apparently Barca have cooled their interest in Alonso and want just cash deal. Dave saw this coming I reckon and smartly recommited himself to the club.

If Barca won't take Alonso as part of the deal after tapping him up I hope we pull out of the deal. Barca are in a mess we should not be bowing to their every demand.

Maybe it would give us a slim chance of them forcing De Jong out and in to our hands.

Just put out the feelers that we want the players and will pay them good wages, maybe even sound them out if they will join and at what price 

Then wait till deadline day and submit a lowball offer.  They'd have no choice.

They unsettled him.  No official bid, no unofficial enquiry just Xavi spreading word through players that he wants him in his team.

They annoy me so much. Think they are above normal procedures.  I wonder why we don't have vindictive people like sir Alex that would make sure he gets them back one way or the other.

That would be an interesting turn of events but... 

I think no matter what they will find a way to register him. And secondly if they don't, I wouldn't want him again even if the manager still does and I'll wonder why. 

He's turned his noses down at us, actually gone elsewhere and then coming back to 2nd choice after. I mean I want to give us the benefit of the doubt that the deal didn't complete because Tuchel had second thoughts which slowed our action to close (but unlikely). We 2ant people that want to play for our short not seeing us as an afterthought. 

I mean even though we all know Casemiro is going to utd for the pay, his justification is that he wants to help them on their resurgence journey.  Quite a "noble"  thing to say and will get the fans onside. 

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's move from Barcelona to #Chelsea is not as clear as this morning. The operation could be called off, however that does not mean it won't happen.

Interesting, it's now being reported we have agreed a fee for £18m with £5m in add-ons.

Why wouldn't you please concentrate on Chelsea? If we don't buy him someone else will. Same goes with DeJong. I couldn't care less if Barcelona survives or goes down. Not sure about you but I am a Chelsea fan.

Agreed. We could probably get Toney for another 10m or so.

Although if Barcelona have genuinely cooled off on Alonso (probably because they are broke) where does that leave him? He could still find another club in Spain perhaps, but he has now fallen to 3rd choice at Chelsea so hard to see him getting much playing time.
