August 24, 20223 yr Some claiming our bid has gone in, and unlike the fofana bid, is being considered as Everton look at replacement costs. Others saying we have not placed the bid yet.

August 24, 20223 yr at least our Anthony is half the money of the Man Utd one it's not the worst deal money wise with regards to Anthony's Edited August 24, 20223 yr by azpi28
August 24, 20223 yr I always wonder about spunking a ton of money on players that a current manager wants and then a new manager arrives, wants to play a different system and the entire cycle starts again...the next manager will probably bin Gordon and he will become yet another CHO, Ziyech etc stuffed on the bench. TT may well be walking near the edge of his life cycle if results and style of play doesn't improve, then what will we do come January? I think our interest in Gordon has a lot of experts scratching their heads...madness

I take great solace in knowing we'll never make a signing as bad as Kepa again. A world record fee on a Keeper than had a tiny release clause that no one wanted to pay a few months prior. I'd actually go as far to say it's physically impossible for an outfield signing to be as bad as Kepa because they'll find themselves, benched, rotated or the team will just cover their weaknesses. Signing the worst keeper in the league for a record fee and have him single handedly lose us games each week but the replacement being a 38 year old Journeyman so he keeps getting minutes will never be topped. Makes Gordon look like a bargain. Edited August 24, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

It's only when we saw him play we realised the full extent of our failure. The most underwhelmed possible transfer as in there were no expectations what so ever when we where linked has got to go to Papa for me.

August 24, 20223 yr Saw a goals reel of his career goals. All four of them. Might I add all deflections too. You've just gotta laugh or you'll cry.
August 24, 20223 yr If Anthony is worth 60 million, ain’t Broja about £80 million, he’s scored Twice as many goals, ?

Mate, don’t make me laugh by comparing Gordon with him. Gordon ran around for 50 games in an Everton shirt, showed a lot of ‘effort’ and could press, now he’s worth £60m with despite having no end product 😅🤦♂️ money laundering.. simple & plain. Does seem odd but money laundering when it seems to be Tuchel driving this move?
August 24, 20223 yr I keep telling myself this can't be true. Just had lunch with an Everton fan who couldn't stop laughing at this.

It seems we are the only clubs that do realistic when it comes to people trying to buy our players. They bid normal but when we want to bid for their players they set release clause prices. I just can't get excited about this signing maybe just because we have more than a few young ones ourselves with equally good potential. Rather than spending money buying another teams young player to develop why don't we focus our energy on improving and developing ours.

August 24, 20223 yr This is one of the most baffling pursuits I can remember since @Nibs left a solitary rose on Thora Hird's doorstep. A crazy gamble at that price and we've had more of those than Paul Merson. Offer Pulisic to Utd in exchange for Ronaldo and let's revisit the striker hunt next summer.
