Anthony Gordon

Featured Replies

Some claiming our bid has gone in, and unlike the fofana bid, is being considered as Everton look at replacement costs. Others saying we have not placed the bid yet.

at least our Anthony is half the money of the Man Utd one

it's not the worst deal money wise with regards to Anthony's

I always wonder about spunking a ton of money on players that a current manager wants and then a new manager arrives, wants to play a different system and the entire cycle starts again...the next manager will probably bin Gordon and he will become yet another CHO, Ziyech etc stuffed on the bench.   TT may well be walking near the edge of his life cycle if results and style of play doesn't improve, then what will we do come January?  I think our interest in Gordon has a lot of experts scratching their heads...madness

Come on Papy Djilobodji will alway take that honour.

Surely it's Kepa.  Papy was only 2m.

I take great solace in knowing we'll never make a signing as bad as Kepa again. A world record fee on a Keeper than had a tiny release clause that no one wanted to pay a few months prior.

I'd actually go as far to say it's physically impossible for an outfield signing to be as bad as Kepa because they'll find themselves, benched, rotated or the team will just cover their weaknesses.

Signing the worst keeper in the league for a record fee and have him single handedly lose us games each week but the replacement being a 38 year old Journeyman so he keeps getting minutes will never be topped.

Makes Gordon look like a bargain.

Think Kepa take the trophy for worst transfer ever, but at least there was a little hope when we signed him he would be good, I mean it was a world record fee.  It's only when we saw him play we realised the full extent of our failure.  The most underwhelmed possible transfer as in there were no expectations what so ever when we where linked has got to go to Papa for me.

Hence why clubs often make “club signings”

How much does it cost to have Anthony Taylor in our back pocket? Whatever it is please Mr. Boehly pay, pay and don't speak.

We sold Papy Diljiobogy for £10m. He’s the model of profitability!

Jeez thought I’d slipped into an alternate dimension reading that.  We actually did, 400% profit!  And people said Marina was useless.  Most underwhelming to most profitable transfer.

Apparently Everton are in negotiations with Watford over a replacement.

With the amount of money we are paying them, presumably they are looking to buy the whole of the Watford team.

Mason Mount?, the same Mason Mount who has a transfer value of £91m (Statista, 2022), first team regular for England, over a 100 games at the highest level for club and an assist-winner in a CL final?, that Mason Mount?

Mate, don’t make me laugh by comparing Gordon with him. Gordon ran around for 50 games in an Everton shirt, showed a lot of ‘effort’ and could press, now he’s worth £60m with despite having no end product  😅🤦‍♂️ money laundering.. simple & plain.

Does seem odd but money laundering when it seems to be Tuchel driving this move?

If Anthony is worth 60 million, ain’t Broja about £80 million, he’s scored Twice as many goals, ?

Exactly.  It seems we are the only clubs that do realistic when it comes to people trying to buy our players.  They bid normal but when we want to bid for their players they set release clause prices.

I just can't get excited about this signing maybe just because we have more than a few young ones ourselves with equally good potential.  Rather than spending money buying another teams young player to develop why don't we focus our energy on improving and developing ours.

The United Antony is 70 million above his value we are only paying 30 million above value

Antony has CL experience to boot, has way more goals & potential than Gordon. Let’s not try to justify the Gordon deal..lol
