Really strange signing if it happens, I mean add another 10-15M you could sign a proven player. It appears we are happy to shift Pullisic\Ziyech\CHO in one window, and we get Gordon as replacement to score goals these guys couldnt. No pressure, mate.

Chelsea is finished! We need goal scorers and we spend £60m on somebody who cant score and a position that's not a priority? At least Ziyech, Pullisic could score crucial goals. We need a CB and DM not this guy!

This is a desperate signing if it happens. 

Whether you agree or not with the signings/fees of Auba, Fofana, Leao, and Cucurella you can see the reasons why, but Gordon I can't see what the plan is.   Even if he was only £20 million it doesn't make sense.  I don't know what is worse signing him to play wide forward or as a back up wing back, both seem ridiculous.

I'm not sure its desperate......but it is sure mind boggling especially at the price being quoted.  I can only assume that he will be used as a squad player in the place of either Ziyech or CHO because of his work rate and energy, neither of which have been displayed so far by either Ziyech or CHO.   But looking at his stats I just find that will be the biggest waste of money ever at this club...more than Torres, more than Costa, more than Drogba...

 

We're obviously not signing him for his track record as a footballer. Maybe there is some obscure marketing objective to attract a new generation of incel fans ?

I mean Pulisic and Ziyech have been pretty abysmal. Only reason we signed Pulisic was for the American market, I'm sure of it. Anthony Gordon is a weird one, but Tuchel must want him badly otherwise we wouldn't be willing to offer that kind of fee for him. 

I just don’t see why we are pursuing him at all. Not better than any of the current players we have, despite them all misfiring. 

I have no idea how good or bad this guy is but it's good to see the board backing the manager I guess.

60m for Gordon...it is very hard to judge whether Todd is genius or a fool..

From targeting Rafinha, Koulibaly, Sterling, Aubameyang, Cucurella, to Anthony Gordon. It is a bit weird, not gonna lie. We could have just gone in for Ivan Toney weeks ago and probably got him for that kind of money.

Definitely, I watch Brentford a lot because my grandson supports them I would have him anyway of the week,and to be honest he isn't the only Brentford player I would grab in a heartbeat.

Sky reporting this morning. £60m total with add on’s so probably something like £50m + £10m

I read it would be less up front and more in incentives than that.

Anyways crazy money. Fofanas price should be 150mill if Gordon is a 60mill player. It seems the majority of Everton fans don't rate him and want him sold for that money, and that tells me everything I need to know.

This is a Danny Drinkwater type signing, ie a player we should never buy and you know he's going to be a flop before he's even kicked a ball.

For years now we've wanted the board to sign players the manager wants.

Let's see what happens.

The biggest issue I have with this is Tuchel hasen't got the best out of Havertz, CHO, Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech and Mount on a consistent basis. How is this guy going to be any different?

If Sterling struggles to find the net over the next few months then it's a Tuchel problem not a player problem. Sterling is the one player in that list that has performed in the prem at the highest level on a consistent basis.

and that the Everton fans forum and every Everton fan i know (4) are rubbing their hands over this. They also reckon if they can get Gilmour in as well it wil be a masterstroke by Lampard.

This possibly more than any of the other considerably embarrassing bollox that have been going around about this club and its management and boards this summer is witout doubt teh most disturbing.

This feature like a transfer that may break TT relationship with the new owners. If he flops like us and the Everton fans expect, becoming another Ross Barkley only for a lot more money the Clearlake people may be asking why their money was so wasted.

Lot of people are claiming Tuchel is 'safe', when in reality he really isn't. We are no longer owned by a man who is willing to write of losses, we are owned by investors that want a return in profit. 

This goes tits up, only one person to point at. 

Apparently after Raphinha turned us down we spent time diving in to data and found Gordon to be our second choice for a qide forward who runs about and can play wingback...
