Because he is actually probably 45 years old. I see nothing in him that makes him a quality defender, he is slow to react, spends too long on the ball, has close to zero mobility. 5 year deal….. we are idiots

I think people have also forgotten just how bad Kepa was before Mendy replaced him.    Terrible shot stopping (never gets anywhere near the ball), gets beat one on ones, awful ball handling, poor decision making etc.

We look more attacking oriented but...........................same problems up front, chances created not taken and suffer as a result.

Yeah, Serie A, a league so slow these days that old players that can't take the pace of other leagues go there to retire.

He had two chances to put it in but decided to pass. He found those chances very well. And he has played for us for 25 minutes.

I know he needs to adapt, but Auba had 2 chances to shoot and he should have run on to Havertz cross earlier in the game. I mean that's normal striker behaviour, so hopefully he becomes more selfish.
