Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

Featured Replies

It’s obvious he’s out of his depth. Putting defensive players on in fear of conceding a goal instead of going for another goal.

He’s always too scared. We need a manager with balls, Potter hasn’t even got any.

Even if we play Accrington Stanley in FA Cup and cruising to a 2 - 0 win, he’d still find a way for Accrington to get back in it.

Feel like the past few wins have mostly been inspite of Potter.

We have so much quality in the squad we'll win some games here and there but he doesn't make the team better, his line ups are puzzling.

His subs always make the team worse,  he isn't learning from mistakes, playing deadwood over the new signings he's supposed to integrate especially when we have little to play for

And is always susceptible to being worked over by a more tactically astute manager like Dyche.

On another note I love Antonio Conte, wins us a league title then goes to Spurs and spends a year calling them a sh*t club 😂

Also I wish Potter could show a shred of this passion

Would be funny if he didn't do exactly the same sh*t here for an entire season.

Dare i say he slowly but surely seems to be mentally adapting to the expectation level at the club.

I don't get how anyone could take that from Boehly telling Potter to childishly swear in a press release

Obviously Potter has been criticised in the media for his drab demeanour and the club are clearly looking to change his image to the point I'm expecting him to start turning up to games in a leather jacket and with an eye patch (might improve us)

But Criticism of Potter isn't based on his off the field persona more than his results and instructions on the pitch,  he was disgustingly cowardly against Leeds and nearly lost us 2 points by giving up going forward and imbibing pressure at home against a championship team and seemingly learnt nothing from that lucky escape by doing the exact same thing in our next home league game against another championship quality team and this time we paid the price.

The club can and will manipulate the PR around Potter but they can't change his natural instincts during games and he's instinctively afraid of the opposition.

Depressing to see you back.

After spending 200m on Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Morata, Zappacosta, Emerson Palmeri and Ross Barkley I don't blame him. Marina's recruitment these past 5 years has been awful for the most part.

It will take a champions league win to turn me around at this point. I cant stand him.

Tactically he seems way off the pace, his in game management is appaling, and his subs make Conte and mourinho look adventurous.

Parking the bus at home 1 nil up 15th placed Everton and Leeds is ridiculous.

Ended the game in a bizarrely unbalanced 541.

He is not the man to take the club forward, and I wont be changing my opinion after every purple patch when his archaic tactics manage to win a game or 2.

The paper is coming off those cracks we filled last week. Showed today he is absolutely not up to coaching at this level. Changing formation and mindset at 1-0 up at home to genuinely the worst team in the league with half an hour to go is inexcusable.

3 of the past 4 games he has taken a defensive approach once we took the lead. Did it against Leeds, but thankfully we defended well. It was horrible to watch though. Went 2-0 up against Dortmund, he did it again, much more understandable, but it's not a one off situation. Does it again today, but much worse than the other games and we fall apart. It's just horrible coaching. Every time we go in front, he goes ultra defensive, and against the weakest teams in the league no less. This is small time coaching. He's killing our momentum every single time.

For not challenging for the title? Sure although i don't think he's as innocent with some of those signings as people try and claim.

For failing to finish top four (and throwing that City game) is all on him, and only him.

Depressing to be back.

I'd rather we continued to win and there was no need to to criticise the manager

Did it really feel like I was gone though? I've been tagged in 19 different posts since I last logged on.

Mod should be giving me a percentage of forum donations at the rate some people here logged on to talk about me when I wasn't here.

I think deep down they were all missing you LOL

Negative mentality off the pitch is leading to negative performances on. His subs today and lack of tactical ambition cost us big time. We are 11th for a reason, the table doesn’t lie…which wouldn’t be too bad if the football on show was sparkling! It ain’t

We lost 1-0 to City that game. The 100 point City is arguably the best team the Prem has ever seen. Sarri tried to play open against them the year after and we got smashed 6-0.

I'm not going to say the 2nd season was a success, but it wasn't a disaster. It's arguably been better than this season under Potter. Personally I think not backing Conte properly in 2017 is one of the main reasons for us no longer being a title challenging team anymore. If we'd at least got him Lukaku (who he can actually get the best out of), we would have easily got top 4.

I'm not sure there is too much to argue about LOL

The only thing going better is the Champions League ! Everything else is way way worse 😞

Forgot Leicester where we were a Dewsbury-Hall missing a sitter away from drawing.
