I doubt Kane will last as long as Lewindowski.

Think Kane will go on to 32 at top level.

What makes you think that?

It's totally arse about face that he is doing very well indeed in the Champions League, but very average (being kind) in the Premier League. You'd think it would be the other way round, based on his CV/experience etc.

I don't think it is a coincidence that our best performance in cl under Potter was against milan where we played 343, against Dortmund we played 343.

Does 343 suit our team? Yes.

Does 343 suit our transfer? Nope

Have you seen him try and sprint? He's not just slow, he looks exhausted after it. It already feels like it's approaching the point where they say they need to manage his minutes.

Indeed - the whole outpouring from a selection of users here for Tuchel is amusing.

If the performances themselves were not justification enough for his sack (which in my opinion they were), then the abrasive behaviour and off the field reasons should be.

I accept that we do not yet (and likely never will) know the full story - but the fact that....

1) TT has sought an injunction to stop the details being released.

2) the court case in germany had to be held behind closed doors due to the nature of the issues

3) newspapers are unwilling or unable to print the details due to legal issues

....all points to there being a significant, potentially reputation damaging event that has occurred.

Simon Jordan alluded to as much months ago, and basically said Boehly had little option but to fire TT.

We are better off without the circus that would have followed had we kept him.

If you field 3-4-3 with James and Chilly as wingbacks you pretty much make Madueke and Mudryk obsolete... this is one more thing Potter has to think about.

He tried to play 4-3-3 for number of games and we lost...

Now if 3-4-3 comes the norm those two young wingers will have hard time getting any playtime....

Good players can adapt. Didn't Hazerd use to play wide left, despite us having wingbacks?

Madueke looks far off the first team whatever the system at the moment:

'Mysterious off the field reasons' doesn't clear things up much does it? The players lost respect for him due to who he was dating? Feels like Daily Mail gossip from the looks of it. According the Kieron Dyer a lot of the players weren't happy with Tuchel being sacked at all

3 successive wins in all competitions. Credit where it's due, it's been a good week for Potter. Today's victory was another small step towards progressing in the right direction

Playing three at the back has been vital and hopefully we're finally starting to see signs of a settled line up.

Hopefully more of the same now against Everton next week before the international break.

Looks like Potter hasn't lost the dressing room as some Journalists had been suggesting about a week ago. When his job was on the line, the players stepped up their game and gave him 3 wins in a week. I think this is the first time in a long time that players didn't down the tools to get a manager sacked. This might be a good cultural shift for the club.

Huge pinch of salt but there was a rumour doing the rounds a month of so ago that he was doing cocaine a lot behind the scenes. Most likely complete bs but makes you question it.

Didn't catch the game, but the result speaks for itself. Usually when people are backed into a corner they either fold or come out swinging. Perhaps there is more fight in Potter than we gave him credit for. Remains to be seen if he's the right man for the job, but this past week has gone a long way to building up some faith in him from his doubters. I'll reserve full judgement until the end of the season, if the results are there and we can see a decent style of play I'm willing to re-evaluate my perception of him and his suitability for the job.

Edit: Also happy he's gone back to 343 doesn't matter about the new signings, if we play 4atb and we can't score then it makes sense to go with what works. I always felt the move to a back 4 was being pushed by Boehly for both TT and Potter. Obviously the fans too, but I feel like it was a top down request to play more attractive football with more attackers

Another thumbs up from me for that performance and the three points. Moving forward which i'm happy with. Personally don't mind the back 3/5 at all but with the "2030 vision" we have at the moment I do think we should establish if we are aiming to be a back 4 or back 5 team going forward to have a coherent recruitment strategy. Madueke for example have no place whatsoever in this kind of formation and there are huge questions mark over Mudryk as well so thats something that needs to be adressed for me.

Thought Cucurella and Koulibaly was brilliant again which I was very happy with.

Props to Potter to turn back to the back 3 and getting 2 wins in a row with it. He saw his own limitations and adjusted himself to the squads muscle memory, a bad tactician wouldn't have done it.

Are we all back on the Potter express now. Gonna be cashing cheques and breaking necks😀

Steady!!!! Let’s see how he finishes the season if we continue this improvement even if we lose a few more then he should be given another full season, the key for most fans was the lack of improvement in play and I can clearly see the last three there has been

One last thing. We really do have a cracking squad right now. One or two more additions in the summer and we should be competing.

I am very happy Potter have started to turns things around and now I hope we continue to deliver and that he gets next season. I wanted him out ASAP but have seen enough signs v Dortmund & Leicester to give him more time if we continue on this path.

But next season Top 4 will have to be the minimum requirement for him. Preferably a title challenge as our squad is very, very good as I previously stated.
