The only thing going better is the Champions League ! Everything else is way way worse 😞

Yet we're supposed to trust the process with Potter, when we gave no faith to a manager who finished 5th, despite having already won us a league title

We lost 1-0 to City that game. The 100 point City is arguably the best team the Prem has ever seen. Sarri tried to play open against them the year after and we got smashed 6-0.

I'm not going to say the 2nd season was a success, but it wasn't a disaster. It's arguably been better than this season under Potter. Personally I think not backing Conte properly in 2017 is one of the main reasons for us no longer being a title challenging team anymore. If we'd at least got him Lukaku (who he can actually get the best out of), we would have easily got top 4.

Inter overhauled their idea squad for Conte's ideals and he still spent most a lot his time there moaning, he'd have still found a way to complain.

Sarri also won the reverse fixture with a clean sheet, Conte in the reverse fixture another cowardly performance with nothing to show for it.

The fact Liverpool a team a mere one place above us that season beat City three times out of four further shows how embarrassing Conte's tactics and excuses for said tactics.

Could City have smashed us? Ofcourse on their day they could do it to anyone but the idea it was a foregone conclusion had we set up with more ambition than a semi pro team is nonsense and I will never forgive Conte for that, ever.

Fair enough, I don't think it's the worst performance we've ever had though. He left Inter after they went into financial problems and had to sell their start players. He's won 5 league titles in the past 11 years, taking over a Juventus team that finished 7th, a Chelsea team that finished 10th, and Inter that finished 9th before he joined. He's easily one of the best managers in the world

Depressing to be back.

I'd rather we continued to win and there was no need to to criticise the manager

Did it really feel like I was gone though? I've been tagged in 19 different posts since I last logged on.

Mod should be giving me a percentage of forum donations at the rate some people here logged on to talk about me when I wasn't here.

I’ll give you £20 to f**k off?

Parking the bus at home 1 nil up 15th placed Everton and Leeds is ridiculous.

Why though?

It's not like we are a highly placed team. We started the game in 11th place so obviously Everton is round our level and we need to be cautious.

You guys just need to get behind Todd and his boy Potter. We are looking for stability as a club and are on point at the moment.

I don't see how we can finish higher than 8th this season, our remaining fixtures aren't easy either

I was just looking at that as well.

We will need a step change in results against the top half sides if we are to finish even that high.

In terms of the so-called "easy" games, we only have 4 to go now ... Villa (H), Wolves (A), Bournemouth (A) and Forest (H). Still got to play the top 3 away from home 😞

It's always a worry when someone mentions easy games and the first one is a team level on points with us with an indisputably better manager and the 2nd one is also against a team with an indisputably better manager.

I'm afraid there aren't many easy games with Potter in charge and not only because he'll take off all our attacking players and bring everyone back like we're the last 11 defending thermopylae whenever we go a goal up.

I agree. He should never have taken off

My only question on Potters subs today was the Chalobah for Fofana one. Did Wes get a knock and need to come off?

If you are looking to defend, which I have no issue with near the end of a game, you should not mess about with your back line.

If he wanted Chalobah on for his strength, then sub off a forward or midfielder, not Fofana. If Wes is on maybe he can help prevent that goal.

Otherwise Gallagher has been good for us of late and CP is not fit for 90 minutes, clearly Kante was not ready for this type of game.

8wins 2 draws and 4 losses. That's the benchmark for me.

If Potter can't achieve that reasonable run of form at the end of the season, his only hope would be to win the CL.

Still a lot of clearing out needed
