Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

Plodder and his excuses.

Plodder  -" I have too many players to train ".

( Cooper at Forest who have signed 30  players gets on with it he don't use excuses ,and you know what he's 6 points behind us )

Plodder - " I have too many players ".

( yet he moaned when he had players out injured .)

The media darling that is Plodder  I think has a manipulative side which we are starting to see blaming Tuchel pre season his interviews he just spends time scripting them .When he should concentrate  on coaching .The strangest thing other clubs fans are not mocking Chelsea  which they usually  do when results go bad.I honestly  believe  that is more humiliating than the results  ,they are in disbelief  as well probably.Plodder is a man with a fork in a world of soup.

I don't know about anyone else but I don't know any Man City fans not even sure I've ever met one in London. A middle aged man wearing a Man City shirt in a pub with a London accent would love to see that then hear them say I've been a fan for years 🤣 I know plenty of Arsenal fans u get me fam ?.

reading reports now that Potter can't train efficiently because he has too many players.

Utter nonsense. He's the manager, he can change the training methods and he can also ask Todd to loan out those who don't fit his system.

A manager that can't manage his team, coach his players or use his strategy and tactical nous to beat opponents. Yet some are still defending him.

Don't have to imagine. Just wait a week or so.

He's out of his depth, can't coach a big squad, can't get easy wins even after being backed... He's simply a waste of time.

Aren't we the support? Should we support the team?

Anyway I agree in the extent the mental block in the side must be massive. I think we only need a moment in a game and it all could turn to something better. Dortmund especially is a massive chance to get a positive vibe inside the team.

Something like this for Chelsea is very hard to turn around. The past 20 years we'd already have the next man in charge..

Jurgen Klopp's first Liverpool line-up had Mignolet, Moreno ...

Klopp's first lineup. He took over an incredibly sh*t squad.
Same goes for Arteta at Arsenal.

Yeah but the league wasn't as strong as it is in 2022/23. It's not like Liverpool were that sh*t before Klopp came in anyway. They were regularly top 6. Chelsea have been worse than 10th before this season with arguably a better team and a goalscorer, so it's not the first time Chelsea have been in this position is it. You can go through most of the top 6 back then in 2015 and apart from City, many teams had fairly average looking sides. Coutinho was genuinely world class though.

What makes this the hardest season ever exactly? We keep losing games and we're still in the same position miraculously, if we picked up some form we could still grab 4th but we won't.

If Potter is here next season, I'm actually seeing some positives in it, the positives being seeing what excuses you lot keep pulling out your ass.

There is no excuse from me, but logic and context. It's not hard to see that there is no magic wand to have us scoring multiple goals a game. That didn't even happen under Tuchel. Tuchel was fortunate to have an in form Kante, James, Chilwell, Giroud, and a generally settled team. Potter hasn't had a settled team, multiple injuries to key players and our best midfield in Kante, who has been very important to us in previous seasons, hasn't played a single second under Potter this season. The club decided to let the likes of Rudiger and Giroud leave too.

This isn't solely a Potter issue, it's an issue of a club selling up less than a year ago, new ownership, injury after injury, no settled team, no preseason etc. Yes the results should be far better, but people want to pin everything on Potter when he's came into a very difficult situation. I don't believe that any other manager would have been able to get that much more out of this situation. Maybe they could have got a few more points, but before last month it was a struggle because of injuries. Look at Liverpool as an e.g, Klopp struggled when he didn't have key players. Now you look at the amount of key players we've had missing and people expect the manager to wave a wand and we magically perform amazing.

So because he doesn't have Kante he's got an excuse to be losing 10 games out of 26 with more goals conceded than scored? He's had more financial backing than any other manager in one f**king season.

All you've done is consistently make excuses for Potter all season, it's getting tiring quite frankly. Fair enough some people back the man and think things can change, they don't keep making bullsh*t excuses to cover his failings.

Tuchel had an injury crisis last season that cost us first place in the league, losing Chilwell, then James, then Kovacic, then Lukaku, then Kante, they all fell like dominos, and then the infamous Lukaku interview came out afterward. But we didn't keep hearing even 1% of the excuses Potter and his supporters are giving us each week. Why was it Tuchel could do much more in such a short amount of time with less resources and it wasn't good enough but Potter needs all these excuses and more time. I didn't see the likes of you constantly defending Tuchel with these nonsense excuses like I've seen you with Potter.

Possibly the funniest sentence we've seen yet in this entire thread !

Perhaps you missed our entire 21/22 season ? 76 goals in 38 games ... 3rd highest tally we had under Roman ? Despite a set of mitigating circumstances that would have provided enough excuses to keep Potter in the job for a decade.

Here are the numerous examples of multiple goals for you :

How about we put this to the test shall we? How much has Potter won recently, 2/16 matches?

Sack Potter and get Zidane, he'll probably accept a similar paycheck that Potter was given, anyway the owners have money so those details are irrelevant. Let's see if no other manager would be able to get more out of this current squad.

I hate this "argument". Like the managers got nothing to do with a players form.

About as stupid as the "Ten Hag is lucky to have a Rashford in form" one. No d**khead (not aimed at you), Ten Hag is the reason he and everyone else is in form.

The Southampton game was the game to sack him. It's outrageous the board has still given him time.

We've now lost out on a chance to get this team on a bounce back for the Dortmund game we can still very much win. Under Potter I have no faith in winning that game, that's our season well and truly over and an inevitable 10-16th place finish.

Yeah because Tuchel started the season amazing didn't he. It was even said that the preseason was one of the worst the players have had. Losing 4-0 against Arsenal was far from acceptable during preseason. We were embarassed by Leeds, then go away to arguably the weakest team in the CL group and lose. Potter came in and we went undefeated in the CL group. We made it look pretty simple vs AC Milan, the same Milan side that recently beat Tottenham.  There have been glimpses of good performances from Potter in charge, but not enough for various reasons.

What can Potter do when we are robbed of a pen decision against West Ham that could have resulted in us winning the game. What can he do when players like Felix are sent off against Fulham for a stupid decision making. Or missed chances against teams? He can't control the chances missed by individuals can he? Against Dortmund we performed brilliantly, dominated the game away from home, but is that Potter's fault that Felix misses pretty simple chances? Of course not. There's more context than just Potter is to blame for every dropped point/s. Liverpool were gifted a win vs Leicester due to own goals. Was that Klopp's brilliant tactical mastery that resulted in that win?

Many of those goals scored against the likes of Norwich, Burnley and Southampton. The rest weren't that good. We were still thrashed at home to Arsenal who were worse last season than this season. Newcastle are better this season, as are Brentford and Villa.

Really? Rashford scored 17 goals under Ole Gunnar, so does that mean OGS is a world class coach too? Rashford has always had world class ability and mentality, he was just low in confidence for whatever reason. I highly doubt it's solely because of the manager. Vardy's best seasons came under Ranieri and Rodgers, neither are world class. Vardy is just a very good striker and always had that consistent ability. I agree that some can be down to the manager, but it's also the mindset of the player. Hazard's best seasons came under Sarri and Conte, but many chelsea fans were saying that Sarri was too old and not good enough, never won anything etc. Is Sarri not good enough?

There are many players who haven't improved us. Ziyech came to Chelsea with great stats, but he's been poor under multiple coaches. The same for Werner and Havertz too - they looked like world beaters in Germany, but at Chelsea their form slipped. I don't think it's simply a Potter issue with them as other managers tried and didn't get much out of them. There's way more context. I am not excusing Potter because of course he's the coach and needs to find a way, but context is important and he's had a tougher time than arguably any other manager at Chelsea imo.

We could all go round in circles here with who is to blame for this shambolic season. Yes Potter has had an injury crisis to deal but this happens in football. An inflated squad due to the amount of players signed in both transfers windows but why hasn’t he identified the players who aren’t in his plans and reduced the size of the first team squad? He played a back 3 mostly with Brighton why has he abandoned this?

Excuses can’t be made for Potter over injuries in your previous post but state we made it look pretty easy against Milan when they had 10 first team players out for the first leg and a man sent off early in the second.
