January 30, 20233 yr 🚨 Chelsea have sent a jet out to Portugal this evening. Chelsea wants the jet out there ready to take Enzo back to London for a medical. The club has confidence a deal will be accepted, hence why the jet has been sent out. #CFC (@CFC365Official) Hopefully Enzo is leaving on a jet plane.

January 30, 20233 yr Hello Todd after waiting endlessly,.., I am going to bed Enzo-less. By the time I wake up, I want to be Enzo-ful... Be guided strictly. Good night

Trying to understand how we'll come out of this without any problems down the road isn't worth concerning ourselves with at this point. We'll just have to trust that they know what they are doing. If you look for Behdad Eghbali on YouTube you will find a 40 minute conference held somewhere in the US. The video is two or three months old. He talks about the club and their vision for Chelsea going forward. Very interesting. You should watch it. He also explains the plans on future feeder clubs and how those clubs will basically add to Chelsea's annual profit. Pretty much what City is currently doing and why they have become #1 most valuable club in the world by profit. You see everybody asking themselves how is City ranked #1 when Etihad is not full all the time and their global fanbase cannot be comparabile to any big club. And they all blame it on shady sponsorship deals. It's actually the feeder clubs and it's the same for Leipzig, too. Also Eghbali kind of makes fun about European sport saying it's 20 years behind the US and I enjoyed the part when he said he spoke to a top scout and asked him what data he uses when scouting players and the scout's reply was that his eyes was the best data. But you should watch it though. Now I don't want to get carried away, but these Americans Boehly and Eghbali and their whole crew, who everybody calls clueless and that they will ruin Chelsea - there might be a possibilty they are so much ahead other owners that their methods will improve European football through all these NFL and NBA type of analysis and marketing ideas and so on and so forth. They are in this business for a few months and have already discovered this glitch in the Matrix with all the big contracts to make things easier for the club. It was basically there for everybody to see and capitalise on that, but I am pretty sure they did not do it not because they did not want it, but because they had no idea about it. These guys are top dogs in the sport industry and billionaires on top of that. You don't achieve that by being clueless and stupid like the fools commenting on Daily Mail and RedCafe. These guys know exactly what they are doing at the moment with all the long contracts and stuff and frankly I believe Chelsea is on good hands and will become even more of a massive brand globally and a superpower when things will finally click.

They have agreed to pay more than his £105m release clause so that Benfica will take payment in instalments. @90min_Football I highly doubt that Chelsea need to pay the fee in installments. Much more likely that CFC simply want to avoid the buyout tax trap.
January 30, 20233 yr Potter is a very lucky manager in many ways. I hope he can make what is a lot of talent by any club in the world's standards into a great team. His last press conference he said words to the effect of "i dont know if we will buy much more this window" or something like that, and since then we have bought what's his name the right full back, who looks like a great crosser of the ball, and now on the way to Enzo. So I'm not sure what "much more" really could have meant. The players are mostly young enough they can work together for years but it would be easy to stuff it up. Mudryck, felix, enzo, havertz, badishale, mount, James all on the growing part of their career. Expectations on the club will now be sky high. Not just results, although they will be welcome, but performances and goals. Entertainment. This is a title challenging squad. Meantime there is only 1 day to go to get this deal done.
January 30, 20233 yr As much as I like to see us sign guys like Enzo I do feel for players like Gallagher (whom I like to watch) and all the other's from the academy that have gone out the door in the past few years... Gallagher has featured 25 times for Chelsea in all competitions this season, scoring one goal, although 14 of those appearances have come as a substitute. It is understood that while Gallagher is not open to a move to Goodison Park at present, with Newcastle and Palace also reportedly interested in him, he would have to look at other options if he is told he is surplus to requirements by the Blues.
January 30, 20233 yr It's an astonishing transfer window if we get this deal down ( which looks like we will). It's not just the amount of money spent, but we done it in the usually quiet winter window. At this stage, I call it a calculated risky move. The onfield performance must improve soon, I don't think you could have a 5 years build a team from bottom up project, when you spend this much in a season. On field performance and results must come soon to mitigate the risks in spending so much in such a short period.

I agree with that. I also feel sorry for the various clubs that end up contributing their best players to other clubs half way through a season. And yet its professional football. Gallagher if he goest for a big price will command a big salary and to the extent that money can make you happy, and it can only to an extent, then he will do well. Porto will make a truly amazing profit in just 1 year, Enzo gets a salary that sets him up for life. Porto fans will be losers this season but may end up stronger next season.
January 31, 20233 yr The deal has been made. I have heard from trusted source. The deal happend 45 minutes ago and Enzo will be going to London for medical. We got what we wanted now. Lets give now Enzo couple of games to get to used to Chelsea way of playing. Thanks Chelsea and Todd!
January 31, 20233 yr Still no official word on this and time is ticking down. Speculation the deal is done or close to being done but we were here at the start of the window as well. Benfica don't lose anything if the string it out and he has the stay. They will get offers of big money for him in the summer for sure.

No please don’t let him get used to the current way of Chelsea playing! Let him change that - forward passes!!!!

I have to admit, the amortisation loophole is extremely clever. Not just becuase it helps us dodge FFP in the short term, but because transfer price inflation means that the fee we'll be paying in 7 years will be tiny in comparison to the player's actual value by then.

An extremely lucky manager, he's hasn't achieved anything yet to warrant this kind of backing. This is Mourinho 04-05 levels of support. With that being said, with Vivell in charge I think our transfers will fit a certain profile regardless of who the manager is.

January 31, 20233 yr 🚨 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: what’s going on for Enzo Fernández to Chelsea? 🇦🇷 ▫️ It was again a tense night of talks between all parties as there’s still no green light from Benfica president Rui Costa to Chelsea proposal. ▪️ Chelsea are offering €120m, same value as the release clause but with payment in multiple installments. ▫️ After optimism on Monday afternoon after new meeting, Chelsea were hoping for breakthrough in the night but no approval from Benfica yet as Rui Costa still hopes to keep Enzo. ▫️ Negotiations will continue in the morning as final decision will be made on Deadline Day for a deal started at the end of December. #DeadlineDay madness 🤯
January 31, 20233 yr I still can't believe this may not happen, its possible a few supporters may have jumped the gun a bit to quickly, probably shouldn't have put the it's happening giff up so soon.
January 31, 20233 yr I’m sure it will happen at this stage. The deal would have been called off by now if it was going to break down. He says.
