Don't get me wrong, I'm not even calling for him to get the sack. I believe he should have at least a full season but I'm never an advocate of getting by if we have the resources to excel. Just because we want to appear a stable club.

My anger is not at GP but the rage I have for Todd knows no bounds. He didn't have to sack TT WHEN he did. If there is anything that has threatened our stability, it is that egotistic move. Agreed they weren't maybe pulling in the same direction but TT no matter how bad things were and as one of the leagues top managers, along with how he expertly provided counsel, guidance and direction to the fans and team in our darkest moments should have been at least given the full season to see if

(I) he would come around to their way of thinking by season end

(ii) we could have gone through a thorough exploration and recruitment process to put the caliber of manager in place that befits a club of our stature. One that has a history of winning it all, being a top club in world football and wants to remain competitive and win even more things.

I actually think we are getting some decent players into the club yet will take a few weeks to bed them in.

Yet a month from now our starting 11 might be very different.

Without James and Chilwell TT started losing and the same has happened with Potter yet TT had a pre-season.

Kova and Ziyech 3 weeks ago outstanding in the WC today just looked like they didn't give a toss. KK, ZZZZiyech he plays like he's half awake, plastic face Gallagher looks like a mannequin and has about the same movement, Havertz looks like an undernourished crackhead and Auba should never play for Chelsea again absolutely useless and the pouty Mount is on borrowed time as well.

I mentioned that a couple of mates were at the Forest game in the match thread and there were rumblings about Potter well after songs about Roman and Tuchel he's a dead man walking lose to Fulham on Thursday (and he has to cross the pitch to the dugouts unless that's changed I know they have a new stand haven't watched a single minute of any of their games) he's going to get some dreadful and deserved stick I'm not a fan he's like Gareth Southgate the sort of middle manager in the local bank twat who dresses up for Comic Relief etc.

I think within a few games Santos will be upfront for us,  Fofana, Zakaria and Chukuw. in our first 11 as will be the new defender from France, James will probably be back and we might just win 4  or 5 on the bounce.

I also expect us to sign a new right back.

If we look at the transfer window, no-one wants our current players, I haven't yet heard of any offers.........

Ziyech - Morrocco played counter attack football with Hakimi behind him, remember we were reputedly interested in Hakimi yet came to nothing.

Kovacic- played with quality players and under an experienced manager.

Bring back Thomas Tuchel as head coach & Frank Lampard as his assistance & bring back Steve Holland too.

Back to the drawing board.

If it was up to me I would have 2004 Mourinho back with Ray Wilkins as his assistance. That would guarantee us shooting back up to top of table.

Agreed. Todd's timing of that really screwed things up.

Did not watch the game bit reading about it, it sounds like several players don't give a toss about playing for Chelsea, and even more don't want to play for Potter.

Shamefully they did this while we are morning Luca.

I am not surprised by our form, we could change manager again and have a honeymoon period, think it is fixed and back to square one.

there is no quick fix here for me.

what other club has had sanctions against them at one point not knowing if the club would exist, then go into a protracted sale, lose its key players to injury, bring in a load of dross players, change manager it’s bound to have an effect.

we will be back, I personally think we need to sit out this season, and hope we don’t get relegated 😂

Thought we had a chance before the game, as City had to rotate players. At least City sent out a team, we just never showed up. It must be a first time in a long time we got knocked out in both domestic cups so early, even Sarri got us a final ( and most thought he was ordinary 🤫)  Where we go from now, winning the CL and do an All or nothing? Relegation maybe real if we don't start winning soon. Potter already called it a transition and will take a long time, so either players play without fear or hand break, or just do the bare minimum to get through the season.

Do you really believe this? In the middle of a crisis such as this and with no cutting edge in our football since we'll before the WC do we really think that Potter will turn to a youngster from the Brazilian second division sling with a number of other untried youngsters.  Surely you do this once you have a pattern and a bit of momentum. Throwing these kids into this environment could be a harrowing experience for them.

Currently he looks out of his depth and adrift. I do think that some of the senior players are not helping and have it in for him so turning to the youngsters seems logical. The problem is that being in such poor form as this it's just unfair throwing all of the youngsters in.

I don't particularly want us changing manager yet again but how long will they suffer this. I had predicted 12th this season, that might have been optimistic.  Jesus.

there is no excuse for not passing the ball forward A manager has to make do with what he has and adapt accordingly  Even if its playing route one  to get a result  Fans allow for injuries , lack of time  But we must see a system  some that looks like a way to progress  sorry GP you have shown nothing

We haven't "passed the ball forward" for years

You can blame the players, Potter, Boehly, or all three, but whatever, the bottom line is that the club has had its day at the top and this is now an unstoppable decent to at best, long term mid-table mediocrity.

It’s over. We had a fantastic ride for the best part of twenty years, but there’s no way back now. It’s just wishful thinking that we climb back up from this mess. Even City couldn’t afford to buy their way out of the mess we’ve got into.

It also bothers me that Brighton have improved since GP left.

While there's a lot of questions on Potter here the rewitting of history with his Brighton spell is getting ridiculous.

They've had good spells under RDZ but they've also went on a 4 game run of only one goal, had a stinker of a loss vs Villa and got knocked out the cup by a league one team. The idea they've gone up a level they never reached under Potter is ludicrous.

I don't have a problem with the sacking of Tuchel. Team wasn't playing well and he has a shelf life.

The problem was quickly settling on and committing to Pecan Potter when we any real search should have gotten a far better manager.

Well we can't accuse a billionaire that thinks he has the world at the feet of being classless, it's not particularly a word synonymous with most of them.

Word has it that TT asked for a second chance at the sack meeting to change as he really liked being Chelsea manager and was committed to the team. Too bad Roman only got his ideal manager on his way out.

Nevertheless he went on to sack him but its almost ironic and a total waste to have billions at your disposal and yet go through a very lack lustre recruitment process that saw GP emerge as manager within 3 days of TT getting the boot.

Even the supposed lower tier managers like Emery, Spaletti, Pellegrini, Poch, Flick, Lopetegui any one of them and similar would have been better than GP.

Just seen post match interview. I hope he’s protecting the players because he said their attitudes at training and what the are trying to achieve is good. They also all try in training. This makes his role in this look even worse. I hope they appreciate this because it’s only the coach that eventually get thrown under the bus.

He must be protecting the players because nobody can be that delusional!

Enough of Koulibaly ... he's playing like he's Silva's dad ...

Badiashile in for the next game please

Who? Alright I know we've signed him but will he do any better if Potter is the manager?
