July 11, 20251 yr He'll probably improve a bit over time and we might regret it, but right now, he's just not good enough, and his attitude is poor at times.

I don't have anything against him, but he's done nothing to suggest he's worth the money that Arsenal have paid for him.

Sold for £50 = £39 m book profit.
July 11, 20251 yr If you take his hat trick against Wolves away, he’s scored 4 goals all season. The offer from Arsenal is pretty good, I’m happy with it. We can use the money to strengthen defence or goalkeeper.
July 11, 20251 yr I always felt he had a bit about him, but then you look at his numbers and they’re average at best.Don’t think it’s out of the question that we regret this but at the same time it’s a very good fee. Bit of a strange move from Arsenal, I think it’s quite possible we overtake them this year.
July 11, 20251 yr When he's on top form he looks mustard, but those days seem few and far between - he's not consistent enough.£52m seems a decent price, and given the recruitment we've done I'm supportive of letting him go.

July 11, 20251 yr Annoyingly it strengthens Arsenal with depth but their tactics are cross and inshallah and we've all seen Madueke's crossing.Good transfer for us but would have preferred to sell him to a Newcastle or Villa.

We are 3-4 quality players away from catching up

We are 3-4 quality players away from catching upLet’s wait and see. They only came 5 points ahead of us despite Chelsea being seen as basket case pre season and them being seen by many as pre season favourites. This is their fourth season as challengers and are making risky signings like Gyokeres & Madueke or downright peculiar like Norgard. It’s surely win this season or bust for Arteta. If we somehow manage to upset the odds on Sunday we will have had a significantly better last 12 months than them.

That will teach me do sums in my head !
July 11, 20251 yr Le Arse make a right habit of signing mediocre players from us for an overinflated price and convincing themselves they’ve ’improved them’ Madueke will never be a League Winning Winger, he’s just not as good as he believes he is. We’re infinitely better already without him. Outside of the Wolves game last year I’d suggest he was more frustrating than anything else, always seemed to make the wrong choice of shoot/pass.

Can't remember the last time a CB got over rated as much as Saliba, Gabriel has given him a career. Rice special moments but is a very limited football as an 8.

July 11, 20251 yr @just will need some consoling! It's a shame, as just like CHO before him, had high hopes for Noni. But the same inconsistencies made him a very frustrating player, with the good performances far outweighed by the average, so if we can mug off Arsenal AGAIN for £50+M then I'm all for it.Another positive is we will no longer get the posts saying "Hey Noni Noni" after he scores a goal - I think @Gordon Bennett was the guilty party, which would then make me start singing the Telephone Man song and I would have it annoyingly stuck in my head for ages! July 11, 20251 yr Not too fussed about Noni being sold, as long as we buy an upgraded replacement. It's not Gittens as he's more of a Mudryk/Sancho replacement and the lad is yet to get an England call up so already behind Noni at this time. Is this player Estavao? I hope so but its still a bit of a gamble still only young. Is Gittens, and Estavao clearly better than Noni, Sancho, and Mudryk? If we don't have any thoughts on replacing him then there's reason to think we could be weaker in the wide areas than last season.Do we think we'll buy a replacement and who is everyone thinking of? Heard Adeyemi links, but he's not an option for me. Nkunku or George until this Quenda lad turns up? Or is Pedro going to be an option out wide?
July 11, 20251 yr I think this transfer is exactly the model BlueCo envisaged. Buy young with potential, when they don’t reach/it’s obvious they won’t reach that potential then offload them for a profit. For every Palmer there’s going to be a Madueke

This feels like the make it or break it season for Arteta. I’ll laugh my ass off if the Gyokeres deal falls through.
