Hair like Torres, position like Werner. Something about this transfer just feels off to me, as good as a player as he might be

'Something feels off' - RTWelch, 2023

Already showed how dangerous he can be against Liverpool. I'm reserving further judgement until i see him play with Chilwell in behind. Played a fantastic ball in behind that Kai finished yesterday, shame he was 4mm offside.

I liked the width he was trying to play with against West Ham. We haven't had a proper winger hugging the touchline for a long time.

Not sure why Cucurella wasn't passing to him. You'd think that when you have a couple of special players like Felix and Mudryk in the side, then the tactics would involve getting the ball to the pair of them as often as possible ! It looked like Cucurella wasn't following instructions to me ...

They still need to get to know one another. Issues of putting together a new team relatively quick. A chemistry and trust needs to be built.

Cucurella is a safe and efficient passer. When ever he had the option to pass it to Mudryk, the lad had at least two spammers marking him. He needs to learn Mudryk's strengths by either playing it over the top or to realise that Mudryk does have the quality to protect the ball against defenders.

To me it looked like Cucu was actively only looking for Enzo. As if he was instructed to give him the ball at all times. It is mind boggling how Mudryk got ignored over and over, hopefully its something that got sorted out in the locker room after the game and we're ready to fully utilize him as one of our main weapons.

There is a video doing the rounds and Mudryk was certainly not surrounded by West Ham players negating the option of a pass on most of the examples it showed ...

I think it's obvious that there's some really good quality there. And I kinda feel for him, sometimes we just don't pick him up and the team isn't on his wavelength. You can see what he's trying to do even with the flicks and quick passes. I don't think it's as bad as it looks, I think if the team were properly gelling and finding him in the right areas his style of play wouldn't be so destructive to the team as it was last night. That's not to completely absolve him of any blame, since Felix was a lot less sloppy last night.

I think Liverpool would've loved him as a Mane replacement, he seems to fit that Klopp style.

Too early to make any decision. Looked Electric against Liverpool. Trash against Fulham and somewhere in the middle the last 2 games.

I made the comment elsewhere, comparing the goal we conceded against Dortmund - with Adeyemi steaming forward and taking on the last man, against how Mudryk messed up the chance against west ham when he was 1 on 1, on the counter, with only coufal between him and the goal.

He needed to do what Adeyemi did, what Mbappe would have done, what prime Henry and Bale would have done.... Turn on the afterburners and steam forward past the defender....at worst, he gets clattered and the defender gets a red card. At best, we score a brilliant counter attack goal. Instead, he slowed it down and made a sloppy pass.....chance wasted. These are the small margins that change games and legacies.

I think overall it was a good perfomance but anyone noticed for the goal he kinda ran after Adyemi but not really... if he sprinted as fast as he could he could have helped Enzo who didn't really know how to handle this situation. Maybe harsh on him but i noticed that.

Despite the price tag, it's not surprising he still has a lot to learn, and few years from his peak. It's a lot easier if he's playing for a team in form, I'm sorry to say he'd flourish at Arsenal right now. Those youtube clips showed he run past people with ease, now when he got his chance he hesitated and didn't want take it on, surely has something to do with the team and people around him.

Just rewatched that and Silva gave him a 10 yard start and a 10 yard beating over the length of the pitch. If he applied himself in the same way that Thiago did just maybe the goal could have been averted.

He reminds me a lot of early Cristiano Ronaldo at United, before he exploded onto the scene.  A lot of flicks, tricks, stepovers - basically showing off a bit but lacking end product.

I do believe it will come though, if anything I've been impressed with his through balls and vision thus far - skills I really didn't expect him to excel in. Combine that with his insane speed and we could have a world beater on our hands in a couple of years time

I'd be worried if it were not for that Liverpool cameo. He showed his true colours there so we all know there is a top player inside of him ready to explode anytime.

But he needs to get adjusted with the new life at a huge club, new big city life, higher expectations etc.

Think he lacks a bit of confidence, too and might be feeling the pressure a bit. Can't make the simplest of passes and take-ons at times and this is the sign of probably feeling the heat of everything coming with his transfer fee.

And he must work a lot on the tactical side of the game. Talent and tricks only take you so far in today's game.

Thought he looked alright in his cameo today. Nice footwork to win a dangerous freekick against Walcott and overlapped Havertz when Kai should have played him in 1v1 instead of trying to dance the ball into the back of the net himself.

Except that Ronaldo was 18 at the time, not 22. I was excited after the Liverpool cameo and I can see him becoming a good player but I'm concerned we've overspent on a relatively unknown player once again.

No one should criticise any January signings. Look at the manager they're playing under. No confidence, no game plan, no tactics and most importantly no one is put into a position to succeed. Mudryk is not being put in a position to succeed so when he doesn't do much all game how is it his fault?

This. As long as Potter is the manager any individual criticism of players is pointless.
