But I am not the one making comments about his character. I can only judge the merits of him as a player and that from what I have seen in the environment that he is in. I saw some unsavoury social media posts attributed to him when he first joined. Were they real and do they testify to his character. I have no idea so I don't care.

Unlike you I couldn't tell whether he is a good guy or not. He is deeply religious apparently. So have been some of worst characters in society. So I have no idea about his character.

As a player he has greatly under achieved against the over hype he has received from the club and his agent, and far from being the inclusive for all environment that some think football should be, it remains a brutally competitive arena where 18 months out of the game will probably derail his career here.

Again as this forum crucifies everyone making one mistake so I feel bad for the lad especially being such a young and probably a bit out of place in England. Even if he knowingly took the drug I feel a bit bad for him. He must have people around him who are bad influence... anyway he is a grown man and must take responsibility.

I saw one video where he helped a young Ukrainian lad. Was war related. Promotional I guess but he seemed sincere in that. A bit lost like he's always looked. But for context on his character pretty thin of course. I just feel a bit of support to him could help him. Hopefully he is not totally crucified.

You can't argue against it either because it is fair possibility.

Remember Matic for example, Guehi, DeBruyne, Salah.. they've been through this forums grinder; absolute rubbish and not Chelsea level for sure and probably by the same people. All came out nicely.

What makes young players exciting is the view of future and the possibility.

Mudryk's been pretty special prospect since he arose to the stage and when big clubs started bidding for him.

Yes, of course young players could improve. They could also not improve, but you keep saying that all those teens we've bought WILL improve. I've seen enough promising young players who didn't ever improve. .

And I'm sure we didn't fork out that large fee for Mudryk hoping for him to improve. That's the sort of money you pay for a top player.

Fine. Try it sometime. Any application. It might help you in some way at least you get the idea of what it can do. None related to theshedend. Just a suggestion not a dig.

This is probably very true and will shape new generations to hold less info in their brain as you can get into that in seconds via search. But that is another problem we won't solve here if it is a problem that is or just an evolution.

In school we had to remember all kinds if sh*te like when was the war of Falklands or that the height of Mount Everest is 8849m. These days I am not so sure you need to hold onto that kind information that much.

And I was told the same thing by my grandparents. I think they said it would damage my eyes. Anyway my eyes are sh*te so they were probably on to something 🤣

I have to admit to being very undecided about this issue. There is though a very good piece written in The Athletic, which has swayed my mind to think ‘ why would the substance be present, other than for performance enhancing?’ . If this is the case I hope the FA throw the book at him…this is on behalf of most athletes who are clean.

Disagree entirely on the second point. Other than the factual statement that he's young. I've seen nothing since he's been here to suggest he will reach any higher level than he already is. Maybe you have. I haven't.

I wouldn't even class him as that young anymore. At his age, he should have been showing signs that he would eventually reach a top level, I haven't ever seen it. His most consistent form has come in the Conference League, against very mediocre opposition. He's hardly performing at Barcola, Olise, Doue, Kvaratskhelia, Yamal, or Saka levels, he's not even at Brennan Johnson levels, and he's older than all of these players.

He's crap, and now that he will be banned for a long time, we can't even get rid of him.

If there isn't something in his contract about taking drugs, then it's just one more reason why this new ownership has been a disaster. He should be sacked, or not receiving a single penny from the club during this ban. We've made some terrible signings over the years, but Mudryk has to be the worst now.

Pretty sure it’s already breached his contract and the club have the right to terminate it.

It’s whether or not the club want to take that financial loss on his transfer fee or whether they could recoup any amount should they stick with him during his suspension.

I think they will take the hit a few years down the line when our finances are better.

The two probably aren't connected. If I'm ever in the situation to test this, I will let you know!

Seriously though, 100k a week is plenty enough to cure your depression. If he can’t play football anymore, maybe jet off to Maldives for a break, take up paddle boarding, take lessons in golfing, maybe buy a Lamborghini if he fancies it.

I understand depression when people are stuck in a rut and don’t have the finances to do nice things never mind being able to afford to pay their bills.

Mudryck the biggest clown and waste of money in the history of chelsea Football club.

Reminder: we signed him for €70 million (£62 million), potentially rising to €100 million (£89 million) in add-ons.

  1. he took drugs to enhance his performances

  2. his performance were still sh1te

  3. he got caught for knowingly taking drugs and he will be banned for up to 4 years

Not sure what we can actually do with him. If he gets 4 years we've basically lost any hope of him contributing or getting a penny back. Our only hope is he gets a short ban, comes back and does well. That is the best case scenario.

Evissy, do you think Mudryk started taking drugs because of Pepilini's dirge ball? Or because he wasn't good enough to get in Pepilini's Dirge Ball starting XI.

TBH, just thinking about it makes me want to start taking drugs, and judging by most of your posts, I think you already have!! Pass the Mushrooms mate. comedy central GIF by Workaholics

Because no rich person has ever suffered from depression!

If having money was an easy fix to depression then national health services could save a fortune. Just throw the lad a week in Fiji, you'll come back grand kiddo!

Decades of research demonstrate a clear, graded association between socioeconomic disadvantage and the risk of depression (in fact all mental disorders). The lowest socioeconomic group have an 81 % higher odds of being depressed than those in the highest group. The Mental Health Foundation states that poverty both precipitates and perpetuates mental ill health. So while rich people can get depressed and a bit sad (Look at Nico Jackson as evidence) it is mostly the less well off.

Money helps. Extra income eases the chronic stress of worrying about rent, bills and basic needs, normalising stress hormones linked to low mood . It also pays for therapy, medication and healthier food, secures safer housing and funds social or leisure activities that boost self-esteem and connection. My wife always goes shopping when she is a bit sad.....costs a bloody fortune.

Of course wealth helps in terms of being to help avoid some of the causes of anxiety and stress and also facilitating better access to support. But the basic premise of not understanding depression in wealthier people because they can just pop off for a nice holiday to cheer themselves up a bit is fundamentally flawed and lacking even the most basic understanding of what can be a crippling mental illness.

Anyway, rant over, Jackson is sh*te, so is Sanchez, Enzo is overrated and Cucurella has great hair.

It is massively narrow-minded (without offending anyone) to think that Depression stems from financial issues! What about trauma, abuse, anxieties or anything else that would affect mental health over the long term?

Good finances would only help those who were depressed by not having any!

Anyway, rant over, Jackson is sh*te, so is Sanchez, Enzo is good, and Cucurella, I was always right about!
