April 8, 20233 yr This club is at a crossroads. The owners can't afford to f**k up the next coaching appointment or god help us. The only thing that's keeping me hopeful is that we'll start next season with a new coach and a smaller squad which hopefully gives us a clean slate. Edited April 8, 20233 yr by Jezz

April 8, 20233 yr Ah i understand, tricking Real to think we are the worst when in reality we are just the secind or third worst. They won't see this coming.
April 8, 20233 yr I did say the the excitement in some members of lampard returning will be short lived once reality sinks in.

April 8, 20233 yr No drive No power No press Very different from Dortmund game. May be my eyes are deceiving me & players are resting & avoiding injury before Wednesday clash with Real. Edited April 8, 20233 yr by ZouMan
April 8, 20233 yr Welcome to sh*t creek. Best start paddling, Real Madrid falls are coming right up...

This mess isn't on Potter, but he wasn't the answer. He did not 'got time'!! He got 20 odd matches!!!! Fact is we are WORSE now than we were under him, not only that our performances WERE starting to improve, it was clear as day what our isssues were - nobody to score goals and defence with a mistake or two per game, now our issues are EVERY aspect of the game! Basically Potter was starting from scratch and our next man in charge has to go all the way back to 'scratch' again!! For gods sake we MUST give the next manager time!!!
April 8, 20233 yr No confidence, no energy, no spirit. It's incredible how far we've fallen under these idiotic owners in less than a year.

The biggest issue with us for years has been our lack of fight. Every single team works harder than our lot, they put their bodies on the line, we can barely get out of a jog. There are definitely other underlining reasons but a squad as large as ours IMO isn't making anything easier. I've heard things from journalists ranging from there not being enough room in the dressing room to them having to split training sessions because of the heavily inflated squad. And then there are the obvious things like trying to get everyone to play and drilling everyone to the same tactical page. Those might sound like little things but they can play a huge role on the pitch and would be far easier with a 20 to the 22-man squad. I also think football has changed massively from 2003 to 2023 in terms of training, sport science and everything that goes behind the scenes so don't completely agree with the Ranieri comparison.

This mess isn't on Potter, but he wasn't the answer. Time?! He was manager for under a year! Without a pre season. With 1 winter transfer window. In a year with a world cup in the middle. With then having to form a "team" out of x number of new young players who had never played in the EPL. Dont tell me he had time! that is a joke.

April 8, 20233 yr With Auba up top more danger. Wondering what if we always use a real 9 with this team and stop using Havertz for that or Sterling.

For some reason people seem to think a manager is literally on the pitch playing every pass tackle and shot. Depressing how sh*t we looked. But its going to make the champions league win even sweeter.

April 8, 20233 yr Potter set us back so much, what a contrast to when Lampard took over Sarri, you can actually see that the players genuinly don't know what they're doing.
